I don't mean to get your hopes down, but you'd need to out-play musicians who've had more experience with the violin than you've been alive. I'd give it a shot though--just learning the audition pieces will be rewarding in itself. And who knows, maybe you'll be Itzhak Perlman and blow them all out of the water by then?
