  • HAPPY NEW YEARS FROM 2010!!!!!!!

  • This is egg and striking to 2 pieses!

  • if there were people there they would be like...

OMG THE PLANET IS FALLING APART,ITS A SUPERNOVA*dying*

  • hey btw were can i get this software

  • WTF booom

  • coooooool! did you use blender?

  • Whoah, is this REAL footage?!

  • boom

  • my bad, when i looked at related links to a vid, i read something that said explosion of a star, so i guess i clicked on the wrong link. simple error, my bad

  • Comment removed

  • lol nice egg star

  • You must be dumb beacause when has a star evr had a rock surface. A star is made up of helium and hydrogen gasses heated by nuclear reactions happening in the source of it's gravity.

You are one big scientific idiot.

  • it said nothing about a star dip shit

  • sorry, jeez, i just thought this was a star since i clicked on a link which had the words exploding star that led me here

  • Interessante, mas é rápido...Legal!!

  • stars don't have roks pretty cool

  • wtf? that is supposed to be a star? interesting animation although

  • HOT DAMN since when a star have a hard surface

  • LMAO. Theyre rocks exploding out from the "star".

  • WTF is that supposed to be a star or a planet? Stars don't have a solid surface!!!

  • neutron stars do

  • Then I'm sure this video is an accurate representation........

  • neutron stars dont have a solid surface they are made up of neutrons man

  • Uh I didn't say they did....I think you replied to the wrong person lol.

  • yeah i know was a reaction on theronguard but i clicked on you whoopsy:P

  • rock doesn't even exist on a star

  • needs soo much work

  • that happens to water in sa2b

  • it's very unreal

  • Pitiful shatter effect there...

  • Why are we all getting so technical over this. Its a good animation im voteing 5 stars.

  • I'd just like to point out that I watched two minutes of "Core", nerdraged, turned the TV off, and never pondered watching the rest of that godawful movie.

  • no sound :(

  • in space sound cannot be made :3

  • OMG THATS NOT A STAR. ITS A PLANET. Bigger then most but thats a planet, A star exploding wouldnt have 2 halfs, first off. it would Shed its outter layers into a planetary Nebula OR it would become a Supernova and just go Kaboom before turning into a black hole. 5 stars for trying to impress.

  • You're forgetting one thing... Planets don't explode.

  • Planets Do, Under EXTREME Conditions, Core Can stop moving, the pressure builds planet goes kabooom

  • Where is your evidence to back that up? I'm intrigued. Please don't direct me to the movie "Core"! :D

  • Well. The Earth has to Breathe in Someway...AkA Volcano... If the Core stops spinning (Not sure about this part) But pressure builds up and stops "Breathing", The movie "Core" Was very accurate with this. But If the Pressure builds it Will Explode. :) I love science and all that, :)

  • the core from the earth what is the use for it, i have heard it's for the magnatic field and cravity, like a star, but the core of the earth is smaller than our sun star, so we turn around the sun and not the sun around us, if the core from our earth where bigger then the sun, it whote turn around us, the earth

  • Oh, Had to turn off the comment, while i pondered, If the planet stops miving, It HAS to push the pressure somewhere, the continents/faultlines would be the new volacanoes, on a larger Scale. Causing a Massive Explosion

  • dead stars have carbon/oxygen cores so it can collapse in some time, but this looks more like giant rock planet

  • planets don't explode when the core stops spinning, pressure doesn't build up either cause all the energy within the earth is the left over energy from its formation, when the earth cools, it just simply cools. no big boom, how ever if the core were to cool and the mantle to solidify, the magneto sphere of the earth would collapse, and over a period of 10,000 years the atmosphere would be peeled away from the earth thus boiling away the oceans and ending life as we know it.

  • Longer videos i say!

  • Looks like The destruction of Malachor V.

  • wow thats pretty cough*cough* informational

  • gee, i didn't know stars had an outer crust, since they're mostly made up of gas. silly me

  • shame on you!

  • lol

  • just add plasma shooting out through the center and its perfect! (still 5* tho!)

  • holy crap!!! if the sun does this we are all domed... that will suck!!!

  • You'd see it go then you'd be dead, so I wouldn't worry about it really. You wouldn't feel a thing.

  • Too many chunks if you ask me (-:

  • hmm why did it collapse? didnt it like explode. and plus stars only cause a super nova when they explode not just a little explosion

  • stars 101.. a star relies on 2 things. 1 is natural gravity and then you need something to fight gravity which is heat. our sun for example burns hydrogen to fight gravity. Once that supply of hydrogen ends the star does not have fuel to fight gravity so it collapses. If its big enough it will fuse atoms together. If its too big it can form black hole. Anyhow, after it collapses, this is when it explodes leaving behind a small very dense core.

  • Stars actually don't burn hydrogen, they don't burn anything. Stars use whats called nuclear fusion, not fission fusion, the star squeezes the hydrogen plasma(the fourth state of matter) into helium plasma it just joins the protons together to make heavier elements, stars only begin to die at the point they start making iron, after which (depending on the mass) collapse, sending even heavier elements outward in the following explosion or simply shed their layers of and cool as dwarf stars.

  • sweet

  • Neato ^.^

  • Thats a spice meat ball!!!

  • ka-boom

  • rename it in

    'death of a planet'

    stars don't die like this.

they explode in a giant supernova, or slowly release their outer atmospheres as planetary nebulas

but never ever will there be chunks like those breaking apart.

a star is a supermassive hot gas ball, and gas doesn't tend to form chunks...

  • Yeah the center of a star maybe rock solid to the max but but once it hits it's death stage and the gases expand, it's like melting an icecube and boiling it.

  • large chunks like this wouldn't come off , becuase at such sizes (planetary in this case) anything, even diamond is very pliable

  • Cool

  • I miss atlanta ga.

  • weird. only the outer layer of this bursts. why the rest not? only the core survives. but as it looks, only the outerlayer bursts.

  • weres the gamma ray bursts?

  • the explosion isn't big enough to be a super nove

    but it's simaler

    and cool!!!

  • it looks like it came from a game, but it's still cool

  • nice

  • Definately not a star collapsing, to begin with a star collapses in on itself, and the sudden gravitation pull causes extreme friction and heat between the particles, thus creating the explosion effect.

This video also shows a solid mantle, ie upper crust which as a star is completely gaseous, is false.

  • aw he tried dont rip him apart like a jackass

  • erm dude you could have just said black hole instead of all the sciency stuff youll find it easier

  • ^^ lol

  • I don't know what is that, but not a star collapse

  • Wow That was kool....

  • i am impressed! i found this looking for blender, how did you make it?

  • if you are impressed of this, then look here: http://orange.blender.org/
