  • good movie, that show the japanese were soldiers like the americans, they had honor, courage and faith in what they believe. Im not american ,but i know that a lot of americans war movies show only the american side of history, and appear the enemy its a lot of fucker, but in real life the fucker are the americans, not the enemy, not all arabic have a bomb in the belly , not all japanese gone suicide for his emperors, Faith to the Brazilian soldiers, fought in 1944 and 1945 in italy

  • History is written by the victors-shepherd

  • You know that everybody was "evil" in this fucking war?

What do the americans in vietnam/irak?

    Is this fair?

Fair to kill thousends of people, just to feel hisself good?

I am german, and i can't be proud of this war, i cant be proud of my country, just because a big asshole destroy all honor from it.

Nobody in a war is at a good or right side.

  • Japanese were as evil as Nazis.

They abducted 200,000 Asians (& Caucasians), raped them up to 50 times a day & then buried them alive to save bullets when they became sick.

*Japanese govt won't apologize to any of surviving sex slaves.

*It STILL sugercoats this by outrageously lying that the victims were whores who volunteered to service Japanese

& received great treatment & even bigger salary than Japanese army generals from Japan.

GOOGLE: Jan Ruff O'Herne - Japanese military sex slave

  • @KimInLosAngeles You are an uber faggot. WWII is over. The generation of Japanese who did that are all gone now. Get over the past. The Nazis executed some of my grandparents just because they were Jewish. You don't see me hating all Germans. The Japanese never killed people because of their religion. I've seen you post the exact same comment on three or four videos. Some friendly words of advice, GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!

  • @KimInLosAngeles A Solider is a solider, you can't blame the soldiers, the people. If you want someone to blame look at the people behind the desk.

  • It just goes to show, that we are all human. We may come from different "nations, we may think we come from different "races". But we are all one race; the human race. And the world is but one country itself...

  • Iwo Jima was no victory for Japan it merely delayed the inevitable, unfortunately caused America to repurpose the atomic bombs by delaying the end of WW2. Between the banzai charges and the flamethrowers 95 percent of the defending soldiers died, not to mention those who were executed...

  • there is absolutely no wayy any one culd dislike this masterpeice,. any song that makes your heart sad or makes you FEEL something is really a song worth listening to and appreciating.

  • Clint Eastwood you never cease to amaze me. Your movies are fantastic. And Letters From Iwo Jima is no exception. Amazing movie wrapped in a tight bundle of many emotions.

  • this song to me will always remind me of afriend i lost long ago ill never forget him no matter what every one tells me he was a very goog freiendto me he was always there to me i just cant let him go our bond was very strong thank u for knowing usaito ur always in my heart

  • Glory to the Braves of Mount Suribachi!!! NIPPON BANZAI!!

  • I found this video that uses this music perfectly. Its about Iraq I think but it is beautiful. Its called "Remembrance New Version" check it out. thanks for posting

  • the invasion of iwo jima was a hige success for the japanese because they killed x5 more than the troops they had

    Banzai!!!!!

  • @TrueIrish1916 Just because one side killed more than the other doese not mean that it was a sucsess. When the japan would Banzai the enemy its because they know they are going to die. Both sides suffered many casualties. yea the americans suffered more but still remember. "Human's intrinsical humanity always beats war's inhumanity."- this was quoted by another youtube account but it was just perfect.

  • @Bravo5656 in a way the Japanese did have a victory on that part, as there order where just to hold the island for as long as possible and cause missery to the USA which is what they did

  • Comment removed

  • this is their holy land and you remove them bastards sereis ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ lemperador long life

  • Whenever you fucking war you can not leave you for another bloody American simepre you have no honor at 10 thousand years lemperador ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ banzai

  • Damn you always have to put Americans in wars because the Japanese degais Starting Out honor them if they did not like you only think about money do not be unhappy with the Germans bale ja? Starting Out degadnos bastards.

  • brilliant film. i wish they would do one that accurately depicts the men of the Wehrmact in WWII. They fought gallantly in teh face of defeat and everytime i read an account of how they joked about and criticized hitler amongst their squadmates i fail to see them all as simply genocidal robots.

  • A so beautifull track for a fantastic movie.

  • This movie was more moving to me than Flags of Our Fathers. We often forget the sacrifices the losing side makes, and movies like this really help to remind us.

  • This movie is incredible, the ending brought tears to my eyes. It gives us a perspective that isn't normally given. The Japs weren't evil, they were just doing what they thought was right, like the Americans.

  • Beautiful...

  • Clint Eastwood never lets up...and should never let up, DONT LET THE FLAME DIE!!!!

  • This was a great movie, it made me realize that both the men of the japenese empire and the U.S. marine corps both were just doing what they thought was right and in the end were just folowing orders.

  • i loved the movie. that and flags of our fathers. they were extraordinary films

  • God bless every soul Japanese and American who fought on that island.

  • LARGA VIDA AL IMPERIO JAPONES

    BANZAI

  • War brings out the worst in humanity. But sadly in some cases like this one it is required to change the way people think. War, Terrible War.

  • I think Clint Eastwood isn't a God, he is a cowboy who wants to be a god.

  • One of the most emotional soundtracks i've ever heard. The movie is one of the best i've ever seen! It shows a completely unknown side to a war that we have experienced over and over in movies and television, just not from this side!

I recomend it will all my heart! It's extremely well made down to the last detail, and of course, everyone speaks in their right language, something witch should be a given theese days!

  • when you think japan was bad you look at america they killed kids women childern.

  • @dude45454444 wow then you really havent been going to school. Learn about what Japan did in China before WW2 before you post this BS

  • @FckJewtube im not saying that japan is good im saying that both had their own bad sides and goods.

  • @dude45454444 i hope you know that at times of war, all countries involved at a fault of killing innocents. You cant point fingers at anyone, and im pretty sure there isnt a country out there that is perfect as well.

  • @dude45454444 The Japanese did too. look up THe Rape of Nanking. The Japanese killed thousands of innocent Chinese lives. They called it military practice. The Japanese soldiers raped women in the streets and when they were done they killed them.

  • @WETTV96 I see they did thanks for letting me know.

  • @WETTV96

Allied soldiers did the same. But i know, if i would be born in your place, i would received the same brainwashing, and would say quite much the same as you. You deserve my pity

  • @VigoDoria what are you talking about.

  • @WETTV96 The Americans also massacred innocent civillians in Philippines in the late 19th century

  • @WETTV96 that might be true but the mojority of japanese troops in ww2 were drafted just like saigo in the movie

  • @dude45454444 Google "Rape of Nanking" before you start hating Americans. Idiot.

  • the music always gets me :'(

  • We watched this movie in my Japanese history class...and the tears were streaming down my face, right there in class!

  • @SorceressDamia Wussy.

  • A very touching film. Beautiful music

  • the original title to this movie was RED SUN BLACK SAND

  • Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime. ~Ernest Hemingway

  • @eagames2007 Though many things can be wrong of war, we have to know that without war, or the idea of it, there would be no peace. For if evil were to arise, the good cannot fight against evil. The soldiers on both sides, at most times, believe that their ways are ture or that they are forced to, weither or not, war is still bad for everyone.

  • @USful i do agree. the other guy was just a troll

  • @USful Do some research my friend, every war in history has been needless, orchestrated by the Illuminati to form the new world order. Dont take my word for it though, go fourth and fight the tyranny that clutches humanity

  • @knkevinuk seriously, illuminati? but your right, the famous dictum that war is the continuation of the policy by other means is total bullshit

  • What this movie shows is that we're all too stupid to realize we're killing our own species. It's so selfish that I have no words for it. People are killed and loved ones are heartbroken just because people want power and land. You kill every "enemy" in the world, than what? You go home and sit on your sorry ass all day? It's not worth it, it really just isn't.

  • @Devellish What would you do in their place? Run with a sign "free hugs"?

...there were many in war who knew it's stupid to kill each other, but you cant count on your enemy to think the same as you do, so all you have left is the reckoning. No one really wants to kill anyone, but in these events people don't have much choice. You can either chose to fight honorably ( attack armed and spare unarmed ) or like horse shit ( kill anything not on your side ) or be 100% pacifist and kill yourself.

  • beautiful theme....very emotional!!!!

:( , Me recuerda a mi hermano Manuel Ricardo QEPD. :(

  • the thing i love about this movie is that i doesnt make a bad thing alot it shows that both were fighting for there country and both having the will to die for it because in the movie they were taught that the americans were savages and the americans were taught that the japanese were savages just note that either sides are pretty much like the same

  • I'm not insulting the song, but it's very simple. yet it's also very beautiful

  • Marvellous film.

  • This soundtrack makes me sad man.

I don't know but it's just the feeling I get when listening to it.

  • It's so beautiful!

  • A very good movie. Reminds us that we are all human. All capable of good. All capable of being led to horrible things. All capable of doing what needs to be done and what should never be done.

  • One of my favorite movies and a very sadly theme

  • After I saw this film for the first time last week, the brainwashing that we still get about the Japanese finally left me for good.

  • @BradBrassman same for me

  • The movie is so brilliant. This film contains a part of world history, in that the Americans stormed the islands and striked their way around thorugh the Japanese lines to ende the war as fast as possible.

I like to watch it and to hear this theme

Ken Watanabe transferred and played a very good role in this film as to "Last Samurai"

greetings from Marcel live in Viernheim (Germany)

  • Such a briliant movie and soundtrack . :)

  • This - and a whole bunch of other movies - shows us the senselessness of war and hatress.

It reminds us to being responsible for preventing wars and slaughterings between the peoples of the world.

    Live long and prosper!

  • The War of War would say Victory Without Blood if the Greatest Victory of them all. As well as avoiding war in the first place which is most likely what he ment by that.

  • fair enough mate;-)

  • Thank you.

someone who knows what I'm getting at.

  • @worldatwar1992 Try not to be a child every time you write a youtube comment.

Aber flags of our fathers war eher bescheiden.......

  • Bester Kriegsfilm mit einer guten erzählung.

  • beautiful, incredibly envolving.

  • Amazing movie, amazing music.

  • great song and movie

  • I transcribed the music from the sountrack and I can play it on my trumpet.
