It's true. The iPhone 3gs only has one speaker on the left side as shown in the video. Check out the official specs. You can clearly see there is only one speaker on the left side of the iPhone 3gs. The right side is the microphone.

I must have had a "broken" iphone 3G because both of my "speakers" had sound coming out of them. I just got the iphone 4G and thought one of the speakers was broken because I was used to having both little speakers working from my iphone 3G. I'm not mistaken either. I use i heart radio and listen to music all day every day on my iphone 3G and somehow both speakers put out music and the mic obviously wasn't broken if I was able to call people. I wonder how to "break" my new phone the same way.

It does, conveniently, erase your music (or hide it) and make your battery work slower though. Way to go Apple.

Ok...this problem really annoys me. When the speaker is covered, I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING! So when it's in my pocket it's difficult to hear an incoming call. AND when its out of my pocket, and there is noise around me (ie on the bus) I can't hear the ringing very well either! I miss many of my incoming calls and only detect them when it vibrates...does anyone else have the problem of not hearing it when it rings when not in a quiet area? By the way, my phone is a 3G model and is also refurbished.
