ive been at this for hours - please tell me - for the love of god --- how to you connect the Location X,Y of the trackPoints to the Translate X,Y of the locator - ive tried the connection editor but the Location X,Y is not there. The Translate X,Y of the TrackPoint does nothing-u mentioned the expression editor - cheers man from Ireland
jesus - i cant believe some of the posts here "poor video quality"," but I hate people who don't make tuto" - jesus - kayveedeeoh posted the vid and is replying to questions - and still some are not happy - ever try to work stuff out for yourself or would some people just prefer that kayveedeeoh does everything for ya - lazy people - well done kayveedeeoh - great vid
How exactly are the mocap points driving the markers on your 3d character? I'm planning on doing the same thing but with max and im kind of unsure. DId you have to give some markers more weight to certain areas to get the look right?.
By the way you can move your head if you use syntheyes for the capture, but then you need more than one camera.
Nice work. I think you're definitely on the right track in not attempting to track head movement. If you look at the facial capture cameras used on "Avatar", they're tracking points on a stationary face by attacking the face tracking camera to the actor's head. Simply tracking facial marker offsets from a fixed perspective is the way to go for sure!
hi its intresting VDO...please can u explain ,how can I transfur ,Facial Trackers translation Information to 3D after Tracking? or please explain in detail VDO.....thank you

i dont really get this part what you mean here you have written start with tracking, then add locators in front of your model, then create clusters in appropriate locations on the face and weight paint them so they deform the mesh smoothly.
could you just do a really quick tutorial people like you are so clever and a lot of us would love to learn from someone like you who has the knowlage please this would so so so so be apreciated my friend
so i have traked my footage in boujou now its in maya what is the verry next step i need to do as tracked it already in boujou i shouldnt have to do it again in maya should i ? also please just help me to figure this one out ive been looking at youre video for a week now and just really want to do it. so its traked and in maya
hi there can i use boujou to track the markers on my face then bring them in to maya could you just briefly explain to me how then do i get a face to move with the markers so like if i make a face do i have to rig bones to it so that it will move and then how to i get the trakd boujou footage to actualy move the face thanks man youre awsum great work hope you can help me out as you seem to no whats what
@ianandhyde check my reply to hanumaanek. but yea, you can export boujou locators to maya, and then use the script I mentioned to connect the movement of the locators to the movement of the cluster deformers... you dont need bones.
I'd really like to do that as well, I'm going to seek some tutorials about Maya live and then get started slowly! thanks for inspiring me and for letting me know that this is possible to do with Maya :)
well this isn't a tutorial in the first place, more of a tech showcase. maya help covers how to do point tracking, and then the expression you need to write to get the locators moving the same as the track data goes like this:
start with tracking, then add locators in front of your model, then create clusters in appropriate locations on the face and weight paint them so they deform the mesh smoothly.
yea, the face is different because its not the camera moving, only the points on the face. so you don't need to do any solving, only tracking.. check out the maya help
can you make a tut aboute how to rig it before plz!!!

Well done! It turned out looking really good. Could do with a model that was either more realistic or cartoony though. But very impressive!

mady1186 1 year ago
@mady1186 you make a locator for each tracked point, and make an expression in the expression editor that goes like this:
locator1.translateY = trackedPointShape1.locationY;
locator1.translateX = trackedPointShape1.locationX;
make a new expression for each locator. ie:
locator2.translateY = trackedPointShape2.locationY;

Does it matter what you make the model out of, because I prefer Polygons to NURBS.
Nicsho 2 years ago
Shouldn't matter- my model uses polygons
