  • is it me or are the ronnetes in there!!

  • @legolas35653

There is one Ronette that was part of this performance. She is Nedra Talley Ross. The others that you saw in the audience (and perhaps thought they were Ronettes) are Mary Wilson (Supremes) and Dee Dee Sharp.

  • I can stay for 2.43 minutes..that means I can enjoy the whole song ! :))

    i love this music!

  • which year is this??

  • @pmathew27

As stated in my comment directly under the video, it was 1999 for a show called "Rock n Roll Graffiti."

  • I'm surprised there aren't more screaming girls in the audiance.

  • @maxapotamus

This is not an "audience" but a group of performers. It was a three day event where they all talked about their careers and took turns singing. I have uploaded many of the performances from this show.

  • @DooWopJoe Where can one get a DVD of this ?

  • @mugsyjones1

The DVDs (it is a set of multiple DVDs) were not available for years, which is why I posted these. I have been told by other viewers that they found it on CFRVideos website. Look for it there -- the title is "Rock n Roll Graffiti.' It is a lot of money, but in my view well worth the price -- lots of great performances and tremendous stories from many of the participants. I hated to see the last video end!

  • @DooWopJoe Thanx for the quick response....I'm looking forward to experiencing the entire set.

  • 2 people are un-American

  • the Fat White guy singing backrounds, nicely, he has a good pitch

  • that guy at 45 seconds sound like a girl the one in the yellow lmao

  • These gatherings used to take place with both R&R/R&B's and Country. It was so good to see them again and see the respect they had for each other. Once upon a time you would get what was called a package tour. Sometimes as many as 5 or 6 acts would appear. Not like today. Anyway, great vid. Thanks for the post.

  • Maurice and his band are fantastic. Please post more videos. Is there any way to stop the endless buffering? It spoils the effect. Thanks again DooWop

  • @contessavaughnessa

The buffering is a function of the speed of your internet connection. Watch the video to the point that the buffering begins, then drag the advancing indicator back to the beginning, thereby allowing the loading of the video to get far enough in advance that the playing does not catch up with what has been loaded.

  • what i'd give to be there. Amazing performance. Thanks for posting the video :)

  • My favorite song of all time.. Im just wondering because i dont know the answer .. Is Maurice Williams the original of this song? because i hear too much version of this even during his time ..

  • @aladdin27

Yes, Maurice wrote the song and was the first to record it, with his group, The Zodiacs.

  • Did Ray Peterson and Jewel Akens also perform? I see them in the audience but don't see any performances by them here. Thanks DooWopJoe.

  • @ol49rrrrr

Yes, they did, and I just added them for you, along with a few others I had not yet posted from this great show!

  • @DooWopJoe Thank you so much. Very appreciated.

  • Cool music ☆«•.*❤

  • I went to a live show in the 90`s great show

  • Horrible

  • Props to the house band too!

  • Elvis's drummer DJ Fontana.

  • wow sounds so nice to here this live.

    thanks for the post. sandy

  • This song will always have a special place in my heart.

  • There was another live one of Maurice in 2000 or 2001. I tink it was called "Doowop 51". Do you think you could post that, please?

  • You are right, Maurice Williams was on DooWop 51. Since that is a DVD that PBS and others are still selling, I do not want to post anything from that, sorry.

  • Do you know anyone who could? Please it would mean alot to me, friend.

  • He sounds so much better live than on album and thanks for posting, I've never seen this before.

  • You're welcome. Like fine wine, Maurice got better with age! I agree, he sounds great here. Can you identify people in the audience? Frankie Ford, Ray Peterson, Jimmy Clanton, Dickey Lee, Frankie Ford, Dee Dee Sharp, Jimmy Gilmer, among others.
