  • Lecker Mädchen - tolles Geläuf - sicher nicht NUR beim Tanzen interessant !

  • Wonderful! Brilliant choice of unconventional music!! She's very agile, a bit woody I would dare to say (her hands freak me out!! coordination problem?) Technically perfectionists!! He's the pillar of the couple: perfectly balanced! Not too bold and obvoius on the scene, not too anonimous... Perfet male partner!! BRAVO!!!

  • The way I see it is this that when a perfectionist like Beethoven or Michelangelo at work, if they were dis-satisfied with oneself, they would just have to torture himself. But when I saw Slavik and Karina, the two most talented first born dancers,in behind the scene practicing in the studio, they could have killed each other when they were un-happy with the result ! That is partner dancing for the world's best Latin dancer Slavik ! Unfortunately. George Wu, AIA 2012-2-13

  • My favorite rumba of all time!

  • Slavik is so inconsistent...they would become champions if stayed together...

  • I am a hardened warrior...a man of steel...I cry at nothing. But this...this made me weep many tears of joy and happiness...

  • I have owned two V-W and three M-B. And I took lessons from Arthur Murray Studios and from the International Ballroom champions before. Therefore, I know the differences between them. George Wu, AIA 2011-12-24

  • When I first saw this video,i couldnt stop watching it...every day for past 6 years Im watching this....While I was dancing she was my inspiration...she is the best dancer ever...while she is dancing you can feel that great energy she sends...you can feel that this is real, there is no place for acting...there are no words that can describe her....only she can, with her dancing,& & everybody get it..There is no Slavik without Karina...not real one

  • They both have four wheels and a steering wheel. And then why a Mercedes is better than a Volkswagon? George Wu, AIA 2011-12-14

  • If I am the person who enjoys Beethoven, Brahms, Wright, Corbusier, Michelangelo, Puccini, Lang Lang, etc., I do not have to explain why I do not like something and like something very much on the other hand. George Wu, AIA 2011-12-13

  • The beauty of this rumba is because it is more of the Ballet tradition, from the music to the rhythm, to the movement of the dancers. It is really far improved from the original Latin Rumba. If any one suggested that this is not the authentic Rumba, I would not dispute too much of it. To me it is music and dancers tried to achieve the beauty in humanity. Name calling is just the inspiration of getting there. The end result is the reason is what it counts. George Wu, AIA 2011-12-13

  • pick a partner that wasn't the best choice for them? And you are so arrogant to think that you know better who they should dance with? Someone who hasn't even experienced a partnership and all the things that come with it besides the dancing? You have no clue what you are talking about. Michael and Riccardo are fabulous dancers, I've even taken lessons from Riccardo. They are wonderful partners for those women and deserve some respect for their devotion to dance.

P.S. Slavik is an amazing dan

  • @georgewu5

Are you an idiot? Are you even a dancer and have you any idea what the heck you are talking about? I'm a dancer and understand that a woman only looks as good as a man partners her. There is a lot more coordination to the mans tiny actions that cannot be seen but are used every second to make sure the female is properly partnered and can look the best. Joanna and Yulia are absolutely amazing dancers but do you seriously think that with all their experience in dance that they would pi

  • Thgis is probably my 49 times watching this video.if not 99 ! georgewuaia 2011-12-7

  • so strong..

  • gott ist das schön ♥

  • A chaca by Paul Killick and Slavik shocked me ! georgewu5

  • Whenever I could not learn the movements from a world champion, I knew that person is probably not a real champion ! Riccardo and Michael are the two champions whom I could not learn a thing or two from. Then I know they are there not because of their dancing, probably something else ? This has been working for me for years in the International Ballroom. Or I should change the title of my thick book " Methods of the World Champions" George Wu, AIA / Youtube Dancewu net

  • I still could not understand why Slavik and Joanna splitting up after they were so good as a team? They could have been the world's best Latin couple ever ! in my opinion. YouTube dance net / George Wu, AIA

  • @georgewu5 Slavik said in an interview that he and Joanna split because they fought a lot, there was a lot of tension between them and even after the world championships were over, they were still fighting, so they split.

  • @MannyHuhnni A first born person is very stubborned, usually very determined, but that was the reason why they usually succeed gertting what they want in life. Slavik and Joanna appeared to be very determined people which made them very successful. But unfortunately Ballroom dancing is a partner acitivity. Like they said " it takes two to tango." At the end all the good female dancers would take someone who "licks"them to compete the world championship. All the good female dancers are likely ....

  • Then again, one does not have to know Cuban Motion, like many dancers I had watched of their videos, and still could be a World Champion. For example Michael and Riccardo are the dancers whose job was to "lick" the World's best female dancers joanne and Yulia. There are many ways to be the World champions. You do nort have to know Cuban Motion and could still be the world Champion ! YouTube dancewu net/ George Wu, AIA 2011-11-7

  • One of the reasons why taking lessons from instructors is not the best way to learn. For example, through the years I noticed very few dancers, including the world champions, did not know what the Cuban Motion was. Then how could a teacher who did not even know what Cuban motion was can teach you how to dance Latin with the Cuban Motion? Slavik could do Cuban Motion better than Donnie and Corky, then how can Slavik learn from either of them? YouTube Dancewu net / George Wu, AIA

  • The numbers of times I watched this video compared to those of he Swan Lake, I would say I love this dance more than any other dance. YouTube dancewu net

  • Nice, isn't it ? :D

  • I just paid a whole lot of money at a dance school to learn this stuff and either I got ripped off, because this doesn't look anything like the basic Rumba dance steps I learned, or else I have a really, really, like reeeeeealy long way to go....

  • @jerramy if you learned the box step in your basic, then you're not ripped off. You're just have to stay commited to get there.

  • @jerramy: Your comments are very funny. If your goal is to dance like this and the basic rumba steps you are now learning is a box step, tell your dance teacher that is not what you want. Tell her or him that you want to learn the International style of dancing. If they don't know what you're talking about or they say not now, take your money and run. Then find a reputable studio that teaches the International style. Understand it takes years of hard training (and money) to get to this level.

  • @IX19UT8O " Take what money and run"? After learning the basic, one does not have to spend any money, can still learn the most beautiful dancing from the videos ! I did. After I took the private lessions from the Russian champions, Mr. & Mrs. Popov, separately. and after I watched the Hiltons dancing in person, I started sketching every figure Standard and Latin from the Hiltons and Savik & Karina, all from their beautiful dancing in their videos to some 700 pages of drawings. George Wu, AIA

  • @georgewu5 " Dancing Basics with Passion with Slavik", " Simply Beautiful Ballroom with HIltons" " Simply Beautiful Latin with Corky & Shirley Ballas ( she was the teacher of Ricarrdo)" " Ballroom Dancing by Alex Moore 7th, 9th and 10th editions" " Basic Principles of classical Ballet by vaganova" etc. YouTube Dancewu net

  • @jerramy: One more thing. Be sure the school you choose establish a dance syllabus for you. It's a step-by step lesson plan that shows what you will be learning and what you will be required to do before moving from one level to the next. Good luck and maybe one day we will see you on YouTube dancing like a professional.

  • @IX19UT8O Thanks for the advice and encouragement, much appreciated!

  • @jerramy: Pay no attention to Georgie unless you're looking for DVD instructions. Becoming a great dancer is not that easy. It's dedicated hard work, and yes money. No professional dancer will teach you for free. It's their livelihood, their source of income. If you're at a national chain and not satisfied, check the independent studios. They are much cheaper and they do have excellent instructors regardless of Georgie's claims. Find the teacher that fits your needs. You'll know when it happens.

  • @jerramy: Find a studio that have teachers who have competed in the "International Style'. It is the predominant ballroom style in the world. In my experience, most, not all, are Russians or Eastern Europeans. There's a whole lot of them in the US.

  • @jerramy Most instructors learned their dancing from the videos of the world champions at home and out to the dance studio to rip off those beginners with the Arthur Muraray Simple American style dancing, to make money for their studio owners. Therefore, if you like, try to learn from the world Champions that you like the most, go to the dance shoes stores. You may spend $99 for one DVD by Slavik. Believe me, like some one told me afterwards, " It worths every penny of it ! " YouTube Dancewu net

  • Lindaa' *-*

  • looks like they are dancing on clouds. >.<

  • how i wish i could dance like this.

  • Riccardo and Michael will never be able to do what Slavik coud do here ! Because they do not have the natural talent as Slavik has ! YouTube Dancewu net Rumba George Wu, AIA 2011-9-14

  • @georgewu5: Georgie, Slavik and Karina were the best during their time together and I love both of them. They should have won the world title. Why it did not happen is beyond me. Riccardo and Yulia are the best dancers today, and I love them too. Your comparison of these brilliant dancers is ridiculous and ludicrous just like you. I really dislike people like you. As I wrote before, Sie sind ein Dummkopf.

  • @georgewu5 I repeat, Riccardo and Michael will never be able to do what Slavik could do here ! Because they do not have the naturaltalent as Slavik has ! YouTube Dancewu net / George Wu, AIA 2011-10-28

  • @georgewu5 There are," Thins in the thicks; and the thicks in the thins !" -----This is the way I see how Slavik's dancing is. Not just the technique, not just who you know in the panel of judges. It is some quality that not every dancer would have. " BORN WITH " is the only explanation I could think of Slavik? YouTube Dancewu net / George Wu, AIA 2011-10-28

  • @georgewu5 MIchelangelo, Beethoven and many artists were self-taught great artists. They did not have a greater artists before them, already better than who they were, and they became legends themselves because they self taught themselves to be an immortal artists, in my humble opinion. Any true artist would first love what they do. not because there is money involved. As a matter of fact, most of them did not have money when they struggled. YouTube Dancewu net / George Wu, AIA

  • @georgewu5 The world is the best judge! In the history of International Ballroom Dancing, Donnie Burns and Slavik will be remembered as the TWO greats of our time, even they had been attacked over and over as a target on the tracks of those younger and less talented dancers. This IX19UT80 is a German unsuccessful dancer, probably very sick psycologically, and I do not care too much about such a crazy person. I just want to learn from the best in the world, Slavik ! George Wu, AIA 2011-10-31

  • @georgewu5: And I repeat, you are a fool. ein dummkopf.

  • @georgewu5: Nice Georgie if you can't make your point resort to name calling. That's what tyrants like Hitler, Stalin, and worst of all Mao used in order to exterminate anyone they did not like. I may speak German but I'm not German, I'm a proud American with no German lineage. I learn German because I work in Europe and my job requires me to be in Germany for now.The Germans are a beautiful people with a beautiful country. Before disrespecting any people, take a good look at your own lineage.

  • @IX19UT8O No comment !

  • @IX19UT8O

I wouldn't bother with this georgewu5 person. He can't be reasoned with and is bordering on what I would call "bat shit crazy".

  • @AceyBlade No comment to you also !

  • @AceyBlade: Thanks, at least we agree on one thing.

  • ...LINDO...

  • Nothing has ever felt more natural and beautiful than this Rumba.

  • I have seen this countless times, which had many different versions and many different dates, and many different countries, even to the last performence before they split, but I never got tired of it. I supposed practice made it "almost perfect"? If this is not art, then what is art ?! George Wu, AIA 2011-9-7

  • song: CUANDO TE BESO

  • what's the name of the songggg?:X:X:X:X:X:X:pls

  • @butterfly9540 Cuando te beso - Juan Luis Guerra

  • i am so much in love with this dance.......

  • It doesn't really matter who is the champion, This couple created the best rumba ever!!! For me it is the unbeaten etalon of beauty and grace.

I've started to dance because of this video. Thank you Slavik and Karina for making me to desire for dancing...

  • Anyways besides this blah from the last comments...

This was the most breath taking dance ive ever seen! No matter what these last people said it was an amazing RUMBA.

Although the music will never be played at a competition you cannot deny it is RUMBA even from its basic steps.

Slavika and Karina are amazing together.

  • I told you just my own impressions and if you see it need to isult me because of it, than It is sad to see another troll especially on some interesting and complex topic such as dance. I would appreciate if you could watch your language, especially if you are really 40+. Please be rational and polite on this topic. You are right, i wouldn't call me a genius in dance but in april I start with my bronze class. But even if i was a nebwie: you should objectively observe my theory and calmly explain.

  • Her legs are a million miles long!

  • someone who has posted THIS video BUT with the song "You're my heart you're my soul" can you please come back that video??!! I LOVE IT!!! bute with that song, without it ...it's not the same!!!!! PLEASE if you noticed this !

  • Simple Perfection.

  • foarteeeeeeeeee frumosssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why did they stop dance together???...actually i´ve not found this information anywhere online...

  • They split away in life, that's why they stopped dancing together....

  • @stagnacya1 From what I heard, and this was not from any official channel, only rumors, was that some arguments in their practices turned into Slavik verbally, and possibly physically abusing Karina, which led to the split. Apparently abuse of some sort was also involved in his breakups with Elena and Anna as well. I don't know how much I believe that story though, because I have read that Slavik and Karina are going to start doing shows (but not competing) together again.

  • Maravilloso bravo ole ole

  • Божественно!

  • omg...i cant believe i shed a tear! best rumba ever!

  • that didn't seem very rumba like to me

  • @MsOhayoOhio I know... I'm in the last class bevor bronze but I can't recognize anything from rumba...

  • @ParadoxPunk1989 This is not Rumba in its purest form. Totally unacceptable for competition yet for show it is fine. The music lacks the Rumba rhythm and beat. Overall for show I say this is a beautiful dance I have enjoyed it immensely. Both are very lyrical in their movement with beautiful lines. Around 3:30 in the video Slaviks arms are just breathtaking in its flow. I love this dance yet I agree it's not really rumba.

  • @BigStev44 About his arms movements... Just like I told you: I dance too and I don't plan on stoping dance because it really means something to me and i really enjoy it. But his arms are floating in the air like he huntes some mosquitos. Is it really necessary? It looks for me like a parody instead of a romantic and passionate rumba or some show related interpretation of rumba. It is neither realistic nor really romantic. Would you do in real life this movements with your lover?

  • @ParadoxPunk1989 I don't walk around doing hip rolls in real life but real life has very little to do with dance. I suggest you get another dance instructor or have them beat you for not paying attention. Maybe I am being unfair it maybe you lack artistry. Anyway you do provide me with amusement. It is always funny to read artistic criticism of a profession from an unknown hack who may have just enough dance lessons not to step on their partners toes.

  • what song is this?

  • @insanecaine Cuando te beso

  • very well performence...WOW
