  • I'm not a fan of either teams but that gave me goosebumps!!!

  • Comment removed

  • One of the most epic intros to any college football game ever. And the game 100% lived up the year-long hype. Hook 'em horns!

  • wasn't this Keith jackson's last game announcing?

  • @fleetadmiralj duh, I see that it said that in the description

  • USC was so stacked lol

  • Just like Vin Scully is the greatest to ever call a baseball game.....Keith Jackson is by far the greatest to ever call college football.

  • I choose cam newton over both of them look what he did came in as someone they didn't think would produce now look he won a heisman and lead them from unranked to a national championship

  • Texas rules!!! You don't mess with Texas! Hook 'Em Horns!

  • And now there is just one game left. One game, that will be as big as a college football game can be. The Southern California Trojans, and the Texas Longhorns, for the National Championship, tonight on ABC Sports.

    EPIC...

  • The game that lived up to the hype...

  • Great, but if Ryan Hamby dident drop that pass vs Texas Ohio State would of had a comanding leed and would of won and played USC in the Rose Bowl for the Natinol Championship, Big Ten vs Pac 10 classic and that would of been a FUCKING ALSOME GAME and Ohio State would of won because look how bad they beat Notre Dame and USC almost lost that game by 1 second. And that was Keith Jacksons last game that year he was comentating, And if Cleartt stade it would of been Bush vs Cleartt. THAT IS ALSOME!

  • Let it go back the old way..no BCS NC game.

  • Very fitting that this was Keith Jackson's last game.

  • Trojan fan here. This game still hurts like hell but this game is the reason why I say VY was a better college QB than Tebow. Tell me when Tebow showed up like this in the big game. Both are comparable because they're hard running spread QB's but never once has Tebow carried his team throughout the season like VY did here.

  • @TheNef77

There's no way your a fan of any team in the SEC if you're saying this. Tebow may never have had a late game comeback drive where he scored the winning touchdown like VY did, but he carried his team AS MUCH as VY did. If you look at credentials, Tebow clearly has VY. Both men quarterbacked their team to won national championship but Tebow has the Heisman. VY doesn't. I could also count the National Championship Florida won in 2006. Technically that gives Tebow TWO NC's.

  • @cougarsrule45 Please with that BS. Troy Smith won a Heisman but VY is head and shoulders above TS. So now Tebow is great because he warmed the bench for a BCS Champ team? BTW watch the actual game. Anyone who did would know that the UF defense won that game by holding the highest scoring offense in NCAA history to only 2 TD's while the crybaby only scored 2 TDs while throwing 2 picks. Tell me how that compares to VY against the 2 time champ USC?

  • @TheNef77

Ok, I agree that VY had the better National Championship game. So yes if your looking at performance in NC games VY is the better qb. On that point I agree. It's your last sentence in your statement that I disagree with: "Both are comparable because they're hard running spread QB's but never once has Tebow carried his team throughout the season like VY did here. "

Your saying that Tebow didn't carry his team throughout the season and that's just not true.

  • @cougarsrule45 He didn't. If he did, he would've done the same in his Sr. year too. The guy had a gimmick system with Percy Harvin, a great O-Line, and a great defense. Other than the cupcake games, which game in Tebow's career has he matched VY's performance against a top 5 opponent?

  • @cougarsrule45

yea but VY got his team a UNDEFEATED year

  • @TheNef77

Florida vs. Alabama in 2008, SEC Title Game. But we did have Percy Harvin for that game...oh wait...

  • I still say Miami-Ohio State BCS Championship was the best but this is defiantly the next best game of all time!

  • This game will always hurt for as long as I live. The stakes that were on the line for USC was a huge deal. They would have completed one of the best runs ever in college football. And I dont want to hear all this damn cheating thing because what did Reggie Bush and all the other players do. Its not like they were paying the refs off or anything. Back to the game, Vince Young was a one man show and I felt USC had way more weapons than Texas. USC tried to get too cute and it cost them.

  • @LosFace55 i know what you mean. it still hurts :/

  • Pretty funny when someone on here accuses Texas of owning the refs. Last I checked, Reggie Bush's Heisman was withdrawn, and Pete Carroll fled USC to escape the avalanche of sanctions for NCAA rules violations. USC cheated, had TWO Heisman Trophy winners, the game was played in Pasadena, CA (i.e. near USC), and STILL Texas overcame and won. Mack Brown, with a clean Texas program, beat the cheater Pete Carroll.

  • Keith Jackson is the greatest sports commentator of all time.

  • @7thThunder lol excuses excuses

  • @7thThunder lol excuses excuses

  • @7thThunder lol dnt hate cuz texas owned in 2005 loser lol

  • @7thThunder lol your a total dumbass for even saying that vince young and this unbelivable texas team beat every single big and powerfull teams longhorns won this game fair and square n stopped this trash talking usc the 2005 texas longhorns are the top 3 best national championship teams of all time HOOK EM DAM HORNS

  • The best football game i have ever seen

  • If they have a playoff in college football, games like this would never happen again

  • wut wuz the name of the song at 0:51?

  • @noodlem45

I KNOW RIGHT? THE SONG IS EPIC. I CAN'T FIND THE NAME EITHER.

  • the very first song is "Heroes of War" by NFL Films. does anyone know the other music

  • Last great National Championship game.

  • @JoeZeon100 dont worry this year will be a classic #2 Alabama vs. #1 LSU

  • @JoeZeon100 ye because the SEC started dominated every year afterwards

  • Keith Jackson is the best no one is gonna replace him,his announcing & knowledge of the game is a masterpiece.

  • BCS

    Bull

    Crap

    Series

    That's all it really is.

  • Keith Jackson's the dean of college football announcers.

  • Dan Fouts is a very good announcer, underrated. College football's loss is the NFL's gain.

  • epic intro!!!! Long live abc sports!!

  • Rest in peace, ABC Sports.

  • college football was so much better with abc and keith jackson. now espn has to control everything

  • Hook Em'!

  • The royalty of college football is in assembly, at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl 2011. Ingram. Richardson. Pryor. And their legion.

i really want to hear that this year

  • I'm a huge USC fan but this was probably the best n'tl championship game I had ever seen. I still am bitter about the 4th and 5 thing but VY is a damn beast. The build up was awesome and they lived up to it every play

  • yall USC haters need to stop hatin cuz each and everyone of u people kno that USC is the best team in college football history

  • Wheres ND?

  • University of Southern Cheaters

  • Was very disappointed to see USC lose but lots of credit to the Longhorns that game. Despite the loss, it's still one of the greatest football games I have ever seen.

    Fight On

  • They should just play this the saturday after the rose bowl. Their ratings would be way better. Besides we already play 12 games of saturdays and it would make much more sense.

  • @UMAnnArbor2 I doubt their ratings are going to get much better. I mean 29 million people watching is pretty damn good.

  • the intro was almost as beast as the game itself

  • I like how the announcer put it for the Texas longhorns, " a 35 season absense" from the National Championship game. LOL Texas= the greatest team to continually not make it to the National Championship.

  • this intro still sends chills up my spine. One of the happiest moments in my life was seeing Texas beat USC for the national championship

  • Best college football game I've ever seen, and I'm not even a fan of either teams.

  • College football on ABC...Please bring it back.

  • Doubly sad to watch - as this was the final College Football broadcast with the ABC Sports brand and the final broadcast for Keith Jackson!

  • I could live the rest of my life without hearing Dan Fouts say "It's time to get it on."

  • This is what college football is all about, greatest game EVER played.

  • This is the only game I've seen that actually lived up to the hype.

  • best game ever.

  • I think ESPN on ABC still uses the theme at 0:59 but that's it.

  • This was college football was all about. Keith Jackson, better yet "The Great Keith Jackson," called his final game here. What a treat for us college fans for him to call one of the greatest games of all time on his last game called.

  • As much as I'd put my hope into it, I seriously doubt the intro's will be back. ABC Sports only concentrated on two things in the 1st half of the "Aughts"; College Football and Monday Night Football. ABC Sports was soon integrated into ESPN (and "The ESPN Family of Networks".) There have been no "cinematic" intros for regular season games that are of the style (they do not even use the same score as the ABC Sports ones) of ABCS. I do not believe this will be resurrected.

  • lol 1:01

  • What's the name of the song at the begining...The very begining, the one Keith starts talking through. (I heard it in NFL films)

  • ABC college football theme

  • Texas fans. You guys are loyal to the extreme. Its not only high school football you guys have a passion for. The 2 times you have come to Pasadena you have presented yourselves as loyal and nobble as possible. I feel bad that Colt Mc Coy got injured on that play and it changed the whole ball game. All of us will never know how this 2010 championship game would have ended. However, you guys have a great team and coach and I believe you guys will be back in the mix in a heart beat.

  • thanks for the comment, but come down here and here the real story!!! and these is a simple answer, if you cant take a single hit by one lineman, then really you shouldnt even think about going to to the pros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ps to many tea sippers!! me 3rd year ut !

  • Hahahahahahahaha I hear that man. Yes, your team sure can lay licks and take them as well. That is why for this years BCS title game I think in the beginning Alabama was a bit surprised at your guys speed and hitting. Other than that, you guys have really turned the tide in the Big XII and I dont see it happening anytime soon. Hopefully in 4 years both our teams USC and UT can get together again and give us college fans another all time great.

  • Well, rmember now that ut team was one man team!! his name of course was vince!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, a one man team who single handidly beat a great USC team that was so potent on offense. His performance was one of the greatest ever.

  • @gsloehr Whats up man. Tell me what do you think if Texas does go to the Big 10?? Honestly, it makes alot of sens for business purposes. If they can keep at least some of their rivalries alive then I dont see why they shouldnt make the move. Your opinion please. As here in the Pac 10, we are considering getting both the Utah schools in BYU and Utah in here.

  • well hell, that is something i would have to think about awhile,do you know something i dont , i havent heard any rumours here on campus!!!!!!!!!

  • @gsloehr Well sir, I hear it earlier today on ESPN radio that it might be a possibly. The Big 10 is trying to expand. Some of their offers has been made to Rutgers, Pittsburgh, and Texas, according to reports. And a reason why it makes sense is because the Big 10 makes really big revenue. But you know how rumors are.

  • LETS GOOOO TEXASSSS!!!!!!

  • Texas has to win on Thursday night. Even though after the big xii title game they sent every husker fan in the state of Nebraska into the fetal position for days after the big xii title game.

  • Where can I find the theme at 2:14?

  • What game was that where he says the rout is underway? I remember hearing that during a game but can't remember which one

  • I got chills watching this.

Keith Jackson has no equal in College Football. He is the voice of ABC College Football.

Musberger is great, but Jackson is in a class of his own.

Greatest College game I have ever seen along with the Boise St. Oklahoma game in 07.

  • I actually cry every time I see an ABC Sports intro for College Football. Especially this one. Good times!

  • where can i find the song at :58?

  • god i wish i could watch sportscenter from that night.

  • This still gives me chills!!!

  • me too. i wish they still used this theme package. FUCK ESPN ON ABC!

  • @chuloguy13 same here. Will have the same feeling come Jan.7th, Hook'em horns

  • this was the peak of the BCS; it all went downhill after this

  • hahaha you're right about that one

  • It's the downhill of the BCS because they play the national championship on a week night.

  • Huh? As far back as I can remember, it's always been played on a weeknight. It used to be on Monday nights. Now it's on Thursday nights, which I actually think is better.

  • greatest game of all-time in my opinion

  • @sickoicko12

    Yeah!!! Hook Em Baby!!!!!!!

  • @sickoicko12 doubtable

  • @sickoicko12 It is. And one of the most heart aching for me.

  • florida state era to miami era to usc era and now to florida era and possibly to texas era in the future

  • What a great way for Keith to end his career. One of the great games in sports history

  • The last TRUE game on ABC Sports.

  • @rhsrebel2006 And boy do I miss it. :-( Please, come back ABC Sports.

  • @rhsrebel2006 Excellent point. ESPN had to bastardize everything and slap their name and inferior theme music on everything, taking away the best theme and intros in sports.

  • What was the score of this game?

  • Alabama vs. Texas this year will be epic.

  • it goes from the miami era to the usc era and now to the florida era

  • from florida era to bama era

  • it goe from the miami era 80s and 90s, nebraska era 90s, usc era, florida era, next is the alabama era, and after that is the Texas a&m era.

  • Texas A&M??

  • yes.

  • Why do you say them i mean I love them and Oklahoma but your really saying there going to have a "era"?

  • they are a growing powerhouse they showed that against the hor in 05' and 09' in 2005 they lost by 11, and in 2009 they lost by 10. You watch it coming soon.

  • That means nothing they got their ass smacked by my sooners and they lost to Texas by 3 and OU hasn't had a era since the 50's.

  • are you gay?

  • Uhm no if your trying to insult me you do a horrible job.

  • well you have a nude man as ur favorite your such a fag!

  • As an SEC fan, I certainly understood Auburn feeling unfairly left out of the championship picture. However, word was that their "strength of schedule" was diminished in '04 when they replaced Georgia Tech with the Citadel on their schedule.

  • @RockyTop4Life 2005 National Championship game was USC vs. Oklahoma, where USC obliterated the Sooners 55-19 in the Orange Bowl. However, Auburn was ranked 3rd in both human polls and the computers (and a rather distant 3rd in the computers at that). But yeah, that was one of those years that just shows why we need a playoff.

  • it was USC vs Oklahoma

  • Keith Jackson is the best, wish he was still around..

  • you sec fans forget usc went into auburn in 03 and handled the tigers. shut them out if i remember

  • They forgot about them because it was the 2004 season when Auburn went undefeated. USC played Oklahoma for the championship at the Orange Bowl.

  • abc sports and college football was EPIC!!

  • The southern california trojans and the texas Longhorns for the national championship tonight on abc sports.

  • one of the best games i ever saw.

  • I hope ABC Sports does a package like this one for the 2010 BCS National Championship Game between the Gators of Florida and the Longhorns of Texas.

  • @gatorbait20082008 why so Texas can win in an epic battle again? :)

  • Comment removed

  • whats that song played in the background by the orchestra?

  • One of the few times the BCS got it right.

  • yeah, but any jackass would have gotten it right that year. BCS is more about money than getting the actual top 2 teams in a title game.

  • It's the only time the BCS has gotten it right, and it will only happen again if only 2 teams, only 2 are unbeaten and are both play a decent schedule and not a bunch of fluff teams.

  • no the 2005 orange bowl was 2 u n beaten teams OU and USC. Usc won in blowout though.

  • That was actually one of the more controversial BCS Championship games. Remember? That was the year Auburn went undefeated. Many people wonder to this day whether or not Auburn should have played in that game instead of Oklahoma.

  • well i aggree auburn should have went but i was just saying that OU went unbeaten too.

  • What about 2002?

  • @JimmySand9 The only time actually. The BCS always gets it wrong.

  • @JimmySand9 THe only time the BCS got it right!

  • "The weather is perfect, the field is fast..."

    Classic Mr. Jackson

  • Keith is the man.

  • That was the greatest National Championship game ever! The Surfer Boys (USC) vs the Down-Home Southern Boys (Texas).

  • you talking about the fans or the football players? cuz the football players are black guys from all over the country lol

  • Good Video

  • Did you just say good video? There are black people in this video "OfThisNot" and we all know how much you hate black people from your comments on other videos.

  • Best game i ever watched.

  • biggest college football game ever!

  • The BEST ever.

I'm a Gator fan, I'm envious of any team that was involved in a classic like this. Hope the Horns make it through this season to play the Gators...I think that'd be the most exciting match of the season.

  • Oh my goodness, this introduction is just magical...

  • Best game i have ever watched in my life!!!

  • the best game i have ever witnesed

  • Can I just say I wish Keith Jackson was still doing play-by-play? Irreplaceable.

  • what a game,a classic for all times

funny i remember this game like it was yesterday....almost 4 years later...wow..!!!!!

  • This theme song should be resurrected by ABC immediately. This intro gives me goosebumps whenever I watch it.

  • god damn..

I fucking hate FOX broadcasting the bcs bowl games. They suck and their commentating is awful.

Get the BCS back on ABC!

  • True.

I hate the BCS but it was enjoyable on ABC. Good broadcasters with good music

  • yeah and go back to the old abc theme not the garbage ass espn one

  • its moving to ESPN next year in 2010

  • i think abc is going to do both the national championship and the rose bowl this year thank god

  • Yeah, they are. But starting in January 2011 all of the BCS games (including the national championship) move to ESPN. :(

  • @odiedude I don't think ESPN is bad. As long as Fox and CBS aren't hosting the games we are ok lol

  • Agreed it sucked on fox sports.

  • i couldn't believe that the longhorns pulled it out against the trojans in the rose bowl. i hope the GATORS can do the same this year.

  • Greatest game I've ever seen.

    GO BADGERS!!!!!

  • The media is corrupting all of sports to many people with horrible opinions persuade the weak minded into believing false accusations

  • UT vs USC was probably the best football game I had ever watched. Each team answered each other with a quick drive or defensive stop and it went down to the wire to determine the national champion that year. I recall jumping and yelling like crazy when Vince Young glided into the end zone. Makes me want to watch the replay again!!! =D

  • Oh My Goodness!

    Beautiful!!! HOLY COW!

LOVE IT! Miss it so much.

    Jackson does it right...

    What a great game!!!

  • To me, The Rose Bowl is my favorite bowls to watch period!!! I like the backdrop when it gets dark in Pasadena and I like when not only the Big Ten/Pac-10 represent that bowl, but when someone like Texas(who played Michigan in the 2005 Rose Bowl) and Oklahoma(which played Washington State in the 2003 Rose Bowl) plays there. That's why I'm glad ABC is doing The BCS Title Game @ The Rose Bowl and not FOX!!!

  • Amen--I'm a Florida Gator fan born and raised and love watching the Rose Bowl every year! I hope we can make it there this year and watch it--hopefully to play the Longhorns! That'd be an epic match.

  • I wish ESPN didn't run away with the entire BCS package...as big as college football is, it can't be an all-cable thing because not everyone is there yet. I'd say about 50-60% of fans have cable...

  • Yes, cable has a 62.2 percent national penetration to be exact, according to TVB. But people always forget about the 28.4 percent of households that have satellite, and ESPN is a basic channel on satellite.

To reach the remaining 10 percent of viewers, I imagine ESPN will do what they currently do with MNF: allow a station in each team's home market to broadcast the game.

I'm not an ESPN apologist by any means. It is simply incorrect to presume that cable networks have insignificant reach.

  • Amen!

  • this was the greatest football game (college or pro) I've ever seen!!
