How did u make the quality this good and fresh sounding? I've been watching/listening to the belgian show for years and it never has come close to the sound here! Cheers for posting!
@CanaleRock The video and audio are from different sources, as the video's description makes clear. Hackett is NOT tapping in the video when you hear him tapping in the audio. His right hand is at the bridge of his guitar! :-)
One of the few songs where Mike's bass is in the forefront ala Chris Squire of Yes. Mike does not get enough credit ( underated ) as a bass player. His bass lines on all their songs are truly fantastic. Remeber; in Genesis, its sum is greater than the parts. Phil Collins to me is a top five drummer ever.

Mi banda favorita.....totalmente maravillosa (my favorite band, truly amazing!!!), es un gusto poder seguir disfrutando de este deleite para los sentidos, después de tantos años, se reinventa, es una admiración que no termina....lo mejor que ha existido!!!!
If I was stuck on a desert island I would have three wishes-a phonographic player, all my favourite Genesis albums and a life times supply of needles.
I love this version. They actually make a few mistakes and at times it even feels like they are only just holding it all together, but its so compelling, Gabriel's energy is especially captivating. And this is the first time I've seen footage of them from this period without all the theatrical get up, I definitely appreciate Gabriel's costumes and characters there's something really refreshing about just seeing him more simply as a musician here. Also love how nervous Banks and Hackett look.
@earwicker I totally agree - love Pete in Genesis and I too think it is "really refreshing about just seeing him more simply as a musician here..." minus the said costumes. I think the costumes and shows are fun but I don't want the distractraction personally away from what it should be about.
@danjsy Quietly working away. A thinking man and that's not saying he's not feeling. I think he's totally commited. Where would they have been otherwise? Tell me if I'm wrong. A tangent I know, but I have to express myself - These guys put a SMILE on my face!!
Cool! Cool!! Coooool!!! What other band, REAL band, incorporated the flute like this? It totally puts into perspective that these odd (?) instruments have a role to play other than in an orchestra.

At this moment, it feels like Someone push me from the top of a cliff, I'm falling faster and faster, everything disapear around me, no landscapes, not even a soil. ...................Blank ........ So I'm falling in the nothingness. My mind is having a roller coaster trip, My vision alterates, I enter a very new world Unknown, Frightening, Exciting, Whitout colours and my body become useless. My mind is condemned to roam in that undefinable field.
What i would give to see this line up of Genesis, the original line up of King Crimson and the Close to the Edge line up of Yes. In some other life perhaps.
Can't help but feel how blessed I was to grow up during an era when music of this caliber was readily available. Also feel sad for those who have to accept what passes as music for today. Where will those songs be 10,20,30 or 40 yrs. from now? Luckily ignorance is truly bliss.
genesis is one of the best prog bands ever! they influenced me as a musician more than any other band. i got one of my shortlived bands to cover watcher of the skies and dance on a volcano, but todays audience doesn't get it. this band truly amazes me and it still makes me sad thinking about when peter left...the end of an era
Probably the greatest live group of it's time. Phil Collins is one of the greatest drummers as is proven on this incredible video of one of my favorite Genesis songs.Of course Peter, Tony, Mike, and Steve are fabulous as usual.Mindblowing Great.
@psfirthoffith , Phil Collins' drumming is insanely sharp in this performance. It's a shame more people don't recognize how good of a drummer he used to be. One of the all time best.
Why did Phil Collins have to turn the band into a pop group? Why did Peter Gabriel do a Freddie Mercury and believe that everything he did later on in life was better than what he did when he had long hair?
When I was 16 I thought music would always be this good. It disappeared so very very quickly...........
@probablygraham Even after Gabriel they had great tracks to play Live : Domino, Home by the Sea, Mama, The Lady Lies, Deep in the Motherlode, Down and Out, Dukes Travels, Behind the Lines, Abacab,Dodo, The Brazilian, Tonight³,Fading Lights, Jesus He Knows Me, Dreaming while you sleep, Cul de Sac, No Reply at all... All are great songs, just like the whole Nursery Chryme eg, great album :D
But funny, I AM 16 NOW NOW NOW NOW, and wish that all this good music will come back :-(
This just reminds you how music has devolved over the years. You can't even call the filth made today 'music'. Do you think Justin Bieber knows what key his 'songs' are in?
Only four comments here, really?. I just have this to say. TRUE ART !!! Artists who create with passion and inventiveness. I get chills down my spine every time I see this band. A level of genius and musicianship incomparable. Genesis at it's absolute best. I never tire of this band. Each time I re-discover something new and fresh.
I highly doubt there will ever be another band who could do ART this well. 40 years and counting, and it NEVER gets old.
