Now ON this TV segment, Gary and I discussed how stupid it is to have this particular character that appears out of nowhere -- all hearing people heard her voice automatically worships Jasmine. (con't)

@cmnagy57 part 2; Teryylene is 100% deaf using ASL. IN that segment, she acted like she HEARD her voice -- suddenly, Terrylene is worshiping her just like that. And not only that, when she was on the stage, Terrylene fingerspelled Jasmine wrong -- she spelled Jaisimine instead of Jasmine. My feelings is that she should crticize the writers about it -- but no, she wanted that role even if it does NOT make sense at all.

I don't think Terrylene is a failing actress. It's directors failing to pick good deaf actors/actresses. Marlene is a good example. She isn't a good actress, but was picked in many shows and movies. Phyllis was a superb actress and could easily win many Oscar awards, but she wasn't chosen much to participate in show or movie. That's why some hearing ppl learn ASL way slower or need to practice a lot more to correct their errors.

And Terrylene could have talked to the screenwriters to discuss about Jasmine's powers. You see, Jasmine ruled people through the *voice* -- when you hear her voice, you fell under her control. How can this be possible for Terrylene?!

This plot could turn into Deaf warriors vs Jasmine. Terrylene ignored this.
