Liszt's spirit shines through this youngster. Splendid rendition. Frenzied (and that's a good thing here) and so right for this piece of music. There's a great talent at that keyboard.
I think it's the camera that's giving people the bad impressions, the mic.'s not up for the job to be honest. But it's quite evident that it's an amazing performance and he's an amazing performer. Just look past the imperfections in the sound!
the portion starting 7:55 totally blew through it too aggressively. need to emphasize the left hand more and make more emotionally intense and enunciate with clarity.
Very good, it was Just a little bit fast. As you certainly know, to deeply understand some pieces you need to be grown. I'm sure that in years once you listen back your interpretation you'll agree with my opinion, but these are just words ! In every cases, a very good job, go on this way ! A friend...
The pianist seems to have two gears -poetically slow, and breakneck marathon. Places such as 9:40 would benefit from more buildup. But I know from experience how hard it is to keep control over the tempo in a life performance. I'm sure he's improved much now since 2009 - let's hear something recent from him?
Well I´m 16 years old and I learn to play this piece, so I know how difficult it is... And you my friend, you play it so good, that I would be happy, If I could ever play like you... I hope I´ll see you play sometimes.. Good luck
There's no comparison to Cziffra, since young Mr Cvetkovic was merely 16 years old when this was recorded, and Cziffra was an old man for most of his recordings. Besides, while Cziffra was a wonder to hear, he was unbearable to watch, with all his posings, and emoting.
In time. this very talented young pianist will learn to control tempos so that the music can be fast when necessary , but also be slow when dramaticism is called for.
I was flowing with the dynamics lol. Well well done. This one is a more intense play, fill with force and determination. Haha, I guess everytime a person play a same song, the dynamics and style might be different.
Awesome. I like the homemade recording a little more. I feel like there's more romance in it. This one is a bit "firey," indeed, but that's nothing to be ashamed of.
Thank you for making this available - it is always a pleasure to see videos of concerts I could never either get to in person or see on British TV. I wish I could have played like that when I was his age.

I don't think this needs refining. I mean.. it's the Mephisto Waltz.. I think it's better off being a bit wilder!!!!bravo!!!!!

Hey Kristian, just commented on your other video
now THIS is something! well done! A little bit of refinement and this preformance will be as good as any i've heard

How old is he? With a little more refinement, he could be something really special.
Music2Die4 4 years ago
what do you mean by refinement?
CreationArtist 4 years ago
i agree, heyy man
music2die4 he doesn't need
what you asked for
if you check in almost
every video he has there you
can get his age -.-
heroicpolonaise 4 years ago
Thought it could be a little more lyrical, a little less rushed.
But I didn't realize he was only 15. Plays with incredible power at that age. The refinement should come naturally. Definitely one to watch.
