@volyn since you're new to tennis ill explain this to you. What there doing here is something called warming up. When you warm up in tennis, the goal is not to hit the ball as hard as you can away from the other player but to simply warm up your strokes by hitting very smoothly and slowly. Once they start playing, then they will start using power.

@thisnamealsotaken You confuse things too easily as well. Pace alone (Soderling/Blake/Gonzalez/etc) has nothing to do with being a "better" forehand. Consistency alone (Djokovic/Murray/etc) has nothing to do with being a "better" forehand. Spin alone (Nadal/Andreev/Verdasco/etc) have nothing to do with being a "better" forehand. Fact is during 2004-2007, Federer's forehand was by far the best when considering all these attributes. His accuracy, pace, spin and placement was tremendous.
