I have to laugh when you Yanks say 'lil 2.2 litre'. Thats a big engine car in the UK with a 3 litre engine being much bigger than average. We have loads of 1 litre cars here which get you from A to B and even have 1.3 turbos with about 130 BHP. Over here the Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo are the most common fast cars.

Shit, I beat one of those things in my VTEC Accord! It may have a V8, but those Crown Vics are HEAVY. Dude was pretty embarrassed getting served by a lil 2.2 liter 4 banger. Plus at that weight, they can't corner worth a DAMN. Just cause it says "Interceptor" doesn't make it fast. Dude talked ALL sorts of shit on my "Widdle baby 4 Banger" until he got shit on by a 160HP Honda. The Crown Vics only had a 4.6 with 235 HP. At almost 4,000 lbs, thats just not enough to be fast. Not BAD, but not fast

Just remember that the Crown Vic police interceptor is still running Ford's little 281. Sure it's built to perform a little bit, but the interceptor's strength lies in it's gearing and suspension. They have tall road gears that allow a maximum speed of 140, which is respectable enough to catch almost anything under 50 grand.

That was funny. And the Challenger is pretty obviously faster.

But remember: the cops have (1) radios, (2) often a helicopter too, and (3) both cars can only take a turn in the city at about 20-25 mph maximum without crashing.

Most police chases I've seen terminate when an untrained driver forgets fact #3.

In short: the Challenger can dust any police cruiser on a flat run, but maximum speed has little to do with actually getting away from the fuzz.

its actually the 4.3liter V-8 menahunie (300+ at the wheels) however it was his first time at the track and wasnt used to the timing of the tree. Its a little slow getting up to speed, but sure as hell can haul ass around/over 60

reason he's so slow is that isn't an interceptor; it's a v-6 patrol unit... Also the Charger is setup for pure dragging and no chance anyway.; but you can't run away on the street running 4.11 gears top end sucks.
