@R3ndogg202 maybe to pick up the guy on the left tapping out the beat. also i do know that when recording guitar if you use a mic and pickups you get both the clear sound from the guitar (pickups) and and the natural resonating sound (the mic). another thing is if you want the sound really natural, you can use a mic to pick up those little natural occurances when your playing guitar, for instance the sound made while sliding your fingers to a new position. it's not a stupid question.

ughhh, i wish they would've used the raw audio, you can totally tell that they played the actual recording over this video cause there are dozens of times where you still hear the guitar knocking going on when don's hand would stop smacking the guitar!
