The fact that the freak saaid that Longs has reach the end of its life is telling a bunch of horse shit, that being a big corporate lie , he thinks he knows all about the retail idustry thus really he is shooting alot of nonesense out of his ass , mouth so do not listen to that fuck head.
Maybe what he meant by Longs being at the end of its "strategic life" is that its attempts to expand into new states (Colorado, Oregon, etc.) were unsuccessful.
However, Longs was still profitable and its revenues were still on the up and up in 2008. Also Longs, unlike CVS, emphasized quality over quantity. It still breaks my heart to know it's gone.
That's ludicrous. If Longs Drugs sold their company to Walgreen Co., Walgreens would have had a monopoly on drug stores in Hawai'i. I applaud Longs for giving the consumers a choice and creating the competition necessary to spur the best prices.
Meanwhile, I heard many of the Longs workers in Hawai'i got an instant raise in their hourly rate. Looks like Longs CARED about it's workers!
Go-go, unregulated American business model allows giant cvs to swallow Long's and put it's office/clerical employees on the street. Think the corporate officers of Longs will walk away with a fat payday while the employees look for new jobs in a down economy? Where are the anti-trust regulators? Why did the FTC give their assent?
