i went to Disney on March 7, and on march 10, we were walking from our hotel to Magic Kingdom (I stayed at Bay Lake Tower) and i began singing, "2 tiny wings, eyes big and yellow, horns of a steer, but a lovable fellow...." and all of that, and my brother asked hom i knew that. i was born in '95, so i have never been on the original Imagination, so i told him at school i took a "Disneyology" course!

I agree, lotsabears. :( I work there and I don't ever go on this ride - you have to literally drag me. We used to go to EPCOT just for Figment when I was little.

My favorite part was "What about science science science science.... What about science science science science..."

@dizzymiz the ride today has reached the lowest point I think it will... Most of Imageworks is closed, Kodak left, and Disney now has the opportunity to make it amazing without a sponsor in control (the same way Space Mountain rocketed above and beyond our wildest thrill dreams when Fedex left). My mom also told me that Kodak is who suggested changing the ride, and I have seen videos of the second one. It was a horrible representation of imagination. But now the ride can only go uphill.

@DisneyfanBeckers I couldn't agree more. they've changed it twice and it only got worse. I wish they would put it back to the original ride. I don't think I've met anyone that likes the newer version. thanks goodness I videotaped this so I can watch it. Why does Disney mess around with something that made everyone happy. I also wish they would put Spaceship Earth back to the way it was. I have the album of all the original music from all the attractions and it makes me miss it more.

Another example of fixing something that wasn't broken. This was a great ride and they've now ruined it. I'll never go in it again. Shame on you, WDW!

@lotsabears I understand how you feel, but to be honest, it was quite broken according to a reputable source. The revolving theater beginning - the part where you spend about 2 minutes with Dreamfinder and Figment - never synced up totally well in the ride and that was part of the idea behind changing the ride completely. All of Epcot got the "science fair" makeover in the late 90s as people began criticizing EPCOT Center for being "wrong about the future." But I loved this ride too! :(

That last scene with Figment and all the screens was always my favorite. It's actually the only one I really remember ^^;

The figments used for those videos were recently for sale on ebay. that were pretty beat up, but it was still amazing to see! :)
