  • Wow, Awesome! =D

  • I've not heard this track in about 7 years!

  • Going to see them in NYC on 12 March!!! :)

  • The best songs always last under 2 minutes. In fact, the best songs always last for 1 minute and 56 seconds.

  • That Lee Mavers qualified his sole album as "shit" goes beyond me! This song is so irresistible!

  • Please don't call this brilliant music "indie"

  • A fun song that owes it's best elements to A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You and Last Train To Clarksville by The Monkees.

  • I love this song! excellent mix i agree. Thanks for posting!

  • best album ever made in the history of music.......probably!

  • i got this album on my iPod just because of There She Goes, but that isnt in my top 5, The La's!!!!!

  • I can listen to this album over & over & have done for years & years lol - still not bored of it :))

  • @sneezymonkey u still listening now haha?

  • God I love this album.

  • I could easily imagine that Fleet Foxes could have been influenced by this, what a stunning tune.

  • 1:26 gives me goosebumps, what a tunee!

  • Underrated band fo sure...

  • if you can write a good song you're talented, if you can write a good song that's under 2 mins, you're a genius.

  • fantastic!!

  • only 2 minutes!? *pout* i want more!!

  • This album is so incredible. The La's were so much more than just "There She Goes," and I'm sure they enjoy the royalties from that, but there are so many other great songs like this, and "Doledrum," just to name a couple.

  • Ha ha ha! this is the song that got me in to John Updike! :)

  • I normally don't really like Indie music much, but this song is brilliant

  • @LXH96 the song predates by over a decade of what we would call 'indie' today...please don't be fooled into thinking that a radio format is the same thing as a type of music, otherwise you will end up not hearing amazing stuff like this...

  • 0 dislikes.........says it all really ;)

  • great memories,thanks lee

  • Scousers, we're the best! :-)

  • The vocals are so raw and powerful....

Mavers really had it goin' on......

  • great song!

  • I wish music was like this now... :(

  • @oxIcecreamIsColdxo There's a band out now called I Am Kloot who a similar to the the La's. And their debut is as good as this one, IMO.

  • @Uzzie101 Ok, I listened to a few of their songs and I've determined they can't even compare to The La's, as well as sound nothing like them. They (I Am Kloot) may be good in their own right but The La's have a distinct sound that I've never heard repeated since. It would be great if there was another band that sounded like them, but I Am Kloot isn't it. Some bands have said they were influenced by The La's. I Am Kloot doesn't even sound like they were influenced by them. Strange ears you have.

  • @Uzzie101 In fact, the only other song I can think of that even remotely reflects the mood of a The La's song is Third Eye Blind's God Of Wine.

  • @oxIcecreamIsColdxo

There is! It's just not in the mainstream.

  • Fukin' brilliant!!

  • Jeez, Oasis copied those lads a lot, if you ask me.

  • @winerefc well i dont know about anyone else but i'll certainly sleep better tonight after that! thanks! :)

  • I discovered the La's in the early 90s when I was about 10 years old. 27 now and still listening to it. Perfection.

  • a great band!

    congratulations the la's!!

    you are amaizing!!!!!!

  • Im from perth,australia

    im in my thirties,

when this came out the're was only a couple of hundred people in my city that were into it,oh memories

  • *What a great way to begin the album

  • What a great way to being the album

  • fuck me this is a belter

  • if "There she goes" can reach near the top of the charts , surley this can get higher , same with Feelin'

  • Bassclap, hear hear!

  • He was born to live like a mercenary Well personally I think that's fine If you're in the right mind He was burned by the twentieth century Now he's doing time In the back of his mind He can hear them outside Better run, Rabbit run Run into the sun Kick your heels in the killing fields Run rabbit run You're a son of a gun!
  • Woah this is different from the version I know. How many different versions of this song are there? The one I remember was way more upbeat.

  • I think the guy who uploaded this video would probably be better able to help answer your question than me. You see I just heard this song for the first time here on YouTube a couple of weeks back so I really don't know if there are other versions of it out there or not. I posted the lyrics to it here in the comments section simply because I thought they were really great lyrics and I've seen other people do the same thing on other videos before ;-) I'm really sorry I couldn't help you more.

  • i hav the album and this is the version i hav on it

not familiar with another version but wud be interested to hear it

  • ther are a couple of different versions on the deluxe version of the La's so uv probs herd one of them

  • Yeah probably, the one I'm familiar with was on a CD that came with an issue of Mojo magazine, I prefer that version, more upbeat.

  • the only one recorded is this one. you can find other versions on here that are better.

  • If you want I'll sell you a life story

About a man who's at loggerheads with his past all the time

He's alive and living in purgatory

All he's doing is rooming up in hotels

And scooping up lots of wine

There was once a boy of life

    Who lived upon a knife

He took his share of everywhere

But he never took a wife...

  • this is easilly the best las tune

  • sorry the shapes are D C and G the tuning is a low tuned DGCFAd

  • Ok ive just tried the D tuning & it does sound better, but C Bb F in normal tuning still works if you cant be arsed de-tuning

  • this song is sooo easy to play its all DCG but in a lower tune

  • Dont think so mate, it is C Bb F in normal tuning

  • This freinds is the modern band that had the beatles in sight.they never reached them shores but they could see them.I cant think of any any other band that tread them waters.Long live the La,s.

  • I keep forgetting about this song, then I smile when I remember about it :)

  • I love how its soooo 60's ish, prob the reason i love Britpop music......

    Britpop and classic rock forever

  • One of the best albums ever!

  • this is a brilliant song

  • the monkees! little bit you a little bit me????

sound like that anyone? same chords anyways!!!

  • are these The Las songs from a particular albulm? if so, what is it called? i gotta go out & buy it!! so many awesome songs, when previously the only 1 i knew was "there she goes"

  • aye the la's, the la's

  • You're missing a great album. Not one bad track on it.

  • @DigitalJinxter I believe you. Not a single bad track yet in this album.

  • @DigitalJinxter There she goes i think you missed that one i skip it everytime i listen to the album.

  • @DigitalJinxter : truer words were never spoken!

  • @freakyobsessed

    There IS only one album...."La's"

  • &fmt=18 past that after your url for better quality.

  • some things/moments/events

are magically perfect. can't be replaced/duplicated/captured

    again. just can't be.

i think the las's album is one of them.

mavers, power, the other guitar, the drummings and lillywhite's production...

    magical perfection captured in time.

mona lisa. a lunar eclipse, the movie casa blanca, a perfect sunset, a baby's first smile, the la's debut...

    peace

  • I completely agree with you.

  • well said sausage

  • class best song off the album asie from feelin

  • usaully u listen to rapcore and rock ect. but for some weird reason im addicted to this song!

  • MAVERS IS A GENIUS. i've listened to a lot of crap but this is magic!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Run rabbit run..this is not JUST the best indie album of all time but one of the best albums of all times
