Russ Ballard wrote the song (with a slightly different arrangement), so that makes RITCHIE'S version "the best cover" because everyone who covers the song covers HIS arrangement! But I do accede that Brian May kicks the song some new guts. I man-love *both* guitarists.

Alcatrazz and Head East did the best versions of this song. I like Rainbow, but their studio version was dull. It's a great song, nonetheless. Yngwie should have kept playing this guitar and not used Strats. His tone is thicker and more defined with the humbucker here. His Strats sound thin and unintelligible at times.

Watch the video again real close. This guitar has single coil pickups too. I don't think I've ever seen Yngwie using humbuckers. I remember seeing a photo of a customized Gibson Flying that he used later in the late 80's, with Strat pickups and a Floyd Rose.
