I think I may have this, my parents think I'm lazy, but it takes me a few days to do laundry! I start it get distracted, then someone asks me about it, but again I get distracted, so at some point I remember and re-wash it with full intent to move it to the dryer this time, but I get distracted again and finally either I need to do more laundry, or someone moves it for me. And it takes a similar cycle to get it from the dryer to my closet, not folded or organized.
Man.... it feels like I have these symptoms, but the symptoms seem exactly like normal everyday things that even people without any type of diagnosis may routinely have. But I do feel like I cant get any tasks done here and there, but I am not sure if I am actually LAZY per se, or do I really have a disorder.
Im speculating but can it also possibly be that the pharmaceutical companies want to make money and promote diagnosing everyone while sticking some money in the pockets of physicians?
I don't usually pour my heart out on you tube or any through my tube for any matter, but seriously i have to share this ill fated story with you. Last Christmas holiday, i been planning to revise at home, tried to do couple of assignments, to get ahead and be one of the elite students. Ironically, i did not get one of them done, even though i was pushing myself, this distraction was a killer. So i figured out my own enemy is me. I tried the library but .. since... continued above ^
add is like having a Farrari for a brain with-out brakes or a steering wheel, you can try your hardest to consentrate on what ever and fail 9 out of 10 times. I get exhausted by noon from so much thinking, and there is that ringing noise you get after listening to loud music that i have to deal with every night. the only thing that helps is a good diet, discipline, (football), and exercise.
ADHD can easily be coped with. It's a matter of using the proper drug to promote better cognitive function and focus. If you combine a healthy diet, exercise, therapy, and take proper vitamins, the outcome can be quite substantial. For all the people reading this with ADD or ADHD, there is hope. I know many people with ADHD and these people have learned to cope with their inabilities and have prevailed, given the circumstances.
@TheDescentJatt There are people diagnosed with ADD or ADHD who are great students. I've noticed friends who have ADD, who by the way have finished university, are very anti social because they can't grasp what others are saying because of inattentiveness. This is something you have to do on your own. You must monitor your behaviors as much as possible and that's the only way you can detect symptoms.
i had adhd & dyslexia all my life & it was miserable all along. i'm 42 now & still have trouble keeping up with tasks at hand. however on flip side, i believe i'm quite creative & futurist which helped me survive & thrive in entrepreneurial world. btw, i was in st. petes (peurto del sol) ... now in silicon valley.
Some people will do fine in school with ADD or ADHD but those with ADD or ADHD who does a fine work in school would do even better and be top students if they did not have the disorder... I just got diagnosed ADHD some days ago and I was over the average age to graduate collage(at that time no one knew I had ADHD) never the less I did graduate and atm. studying at the university and I wont ever be as good as I could be even tho I got potential because of my ADHD...
it's hard to organize my life. i have had it since i was twelve years old. it's strange to know exactly when i had it. it literally felt like the back of my head was now the center.
add makes it hard to decide what issue is more important than others, and not being able to decide on tasks will hold you back.
what i'm learning now is it's better to keep my hobbies to a minimum and to keep daily routine as well as a calendar to organize what i need to do.
@sk8bow doesnt sound like you really had it. Some people get uncomfortable staying still...some people feel more comfortable moving. which one are you?
@sk8bow I dont think you can "think" out of ADHD...I think people with ADHD have a physical physiological difference even to the point that the body MUST behave in a certain way to feel normal. you mentioned you had a "change in the thought process at age 12". that doesnt change the physiological nature of an ADHD brain unless you had some miracle or your ADHD was due to some environmental cause. Otherwise you still are ADHD or you never had it (just a normal hyper childhood).
i have difficulty finishing project and would i still make create new projects even though. i jump from thought to thought when i explain things in a random order (not linear). it's hard to arrange a functional everyday routine.
i never dream anymore so i don't remember the last time i dreamt.
Sounds weird doing really good in school due to ADHD,
but I don't know much so I can't say anything. I might have ADD. I failed school. I get overwhelmed when I for example have to clean my apartment. It's torture because I don't know where to begin, although I do know I can just start SOMEWHERE. But that knowledge doesn't help me - I'm still overwhelmed. I'm messy. I have trouble keeping track on bills and feel disorganized even if I manage to keep them all in a pile, which is basically never
I have ADHD, my mind is constantly skipping forward from one topic to the next. That's why I hate mindless conversations where people don't get right to the point. So people think I'm shy or arrogant when I really just know what they are going to say, so spare me the chat. I really hate my ADHD cause it takes me a long time to finish something cause I always think about every little action and it's consequences. Maybe google caused all this cos it made me constantly have to know everything.
I have been diagnosed with "severe" (if that is even a case) ADHD and there is not a problem with it. I've never had meds and yes i forget things now and then but doctors talk about it like its a bad thing ITS NOT A DISORDER, its a different way of thinking. all you have to do is adapt to it and learn how your brain works. im 18 and ive figured this out, the fact that some people are not willing to cope with their "illness" disgusts me. most of the greatests minds have a form of ADD or ADHD
@hidemysocks Lol im 13 and have adhd, and because of that im the smartest [Not being arrogant] dude in mah class. Without it I probably wouldn't think of every single thing when doing something and becoem lazeh. ^_^
It's so hard o explain to people that you CAN"T. You just can't stop interrupting, i interrupt my employer for god's sake, do you think I want to?! i sent a copy of contract to wrong company, forget about tasks and literally lose track on meetings, when i am the one who has to take notes. You think I don't try enough and am lazy? I am more concerned about this then you are about my money being given to pharmaceuticals... which you are.
@besionishe I think it has more to do with people being inhibited by other peoples judgment and not being able to communicate how we feel about our world of expectation
Thanks for sharing your information. This will help me understand this condition more. I was hoping my son would grow out of it, but I realize he might really need treament.
@OrangeBananaApple I know because I was born in the early 60's and all this ADD, ADHD, ADDADADHHHDD crap didn't exist. There is a dual purpose why these false symptoms were recently 'invented' 1) to make pharmaceutical companies rich 2) to literally dumb-down people so they can't cope with stress and reality and at the same time inject their perverted education and doctrine into these people to the point where they can't even think for themselves.
@OrangeBananaApple Also ask yourself this. Your very own mind, you can't even control...which is basically your soul. How many other people do you know who are like this?
@silentonall well i know alot of people like this, if you had this problem of concentrating and your mind just wandering all over the place when you are trying to concentrate, im sure you would feel very different. You would want some kind of help to help you concentrate and 'so they can't cope with stress' i would say it would be so they CAN cope with stress what would you feel like if stressful things were just being forced into your head and your not able to just sort it out with no troubles?
I think I have ADD too. Since I was a little boy, my driving concern was to be a responsible person. Now I'm in my mid 40's and I don't watch TV, don't have time to hang out with friends(though I do talk to them on the phone), I pray to God and I utterly despise the Obama Administration.

-i type quick but i dont talk quick i seem slow .
-i judge myself bad, never good enough.from this i sometimes get depressed.
got pretty much the same symptoms. Except for the talking, it varies between too fast to understand and extremely slow. The frustrating thing is, that while i know what i want to say, it's sometimes hard to put my thoughts into the right order to actually form a sentence. That's why i often have to stop in sentences and figure what the hell i was actually trying to say. Oh, and i seem unable to complete something. Wether that's reading, programming or homework, got lots of stuff im not done with.
@TheMarianna007 That's always the way. You try to explain it to people and they just dismiss it all together. I have it too; tested for it when I was young. Don't be discouraged, just do your best.
@TheMarianna007 Im 18 & i just got diagnosed with it. I know EXACTLY what youre talking about, I get told im lazy ALL the time but deep inside I'm DYING to complete a task also & its awful. @TheMarianna007 that is how i am. i'm 19 and i just started college.... this has been so hard for me, worse than college (well obviously...) but with all the reading i have to do i get very discouraged. Having to re read lines over and over, and then if i do finally get over my discouragement, i find that i can hardly remember what i just read...but i'm am exactly the same in the things you listed. :( when i mention ADD as the possible problem it's ignored.
I am 24 years old, i do like school but i just can do well, today i had a midterm exam , i even asked for a day off at work just to study for it ..... i did study all day from 10 AM to 5PM i took the test at 5 30 pm and got a D i am dropping the class !!! .... i just keep failing and failling, it is really disapointed for me i lost my financial aid last year, i have some financial problems.... and i cant find a carrear pat..... i want to finish a carrear but it seems that i never will
Also curious if I comprehension is a factor of ADD. I re read a simple question on a piece of paper 5 or 6 times before I can fuly comprehend what it is asking of me.
reading comprehension can be a factor, because sometimes people with ADD tend to skip words or whole lines. (for example, when i am reading a book i am reading each page 3 times in average. I'm still as fast in reading as someone who reads one time though, cause i skip many parts).
So I google'd symptoms ADD couldn't even finish reading all of the symptoms before I needed a video because reading wasn't quick enough, while I was watching the video I totally gapped out 33 seconds of the video. I did this all subconsiously untill I relized it at the end of the video. You sound important see I'll re-watch for you benifit.

Oh yeah. I think I got adult ADD too.
-I love God and I want to dance for Him
-I find myself caring for people from my heart FAR BEYOND my own means to physically supply it.
-I love truth and sound morality
-I think faster than I can type
-I need to re-read things up to 4 or 5 times before I can rewrite it to make it even
better
-I judge myself every second, everyday I'm conscious non-stop in fear or not
Give us a break! ADD is fake.
