It has been ages since i've played this but i had so much trouble with this guy, probably because i wasn't level 99 or even close to it when i beat him. His bite attacks were like 1 hit kills or something.
@TheGuyNamedHenryG Once you gain access to certain end-game regions of the world map, leveling up becomes significantly easier due to massive-experience-granting monsters - namely, the Metal King Slime. I would just fight MKSs for hours on end without doing anything else. Doing that, you can go from 40 to 99 in about 30 hours.

@ArcadianGenesis much easier going to dragon graveyard, find a group that has 2 of the flies and 3 king metal slimes, kill the slimes then the flies will kamikazie. bringing slimes back to life and giving a shitload more xp
@NoMoreLles I have tried that method, but the encounter you described is much rarer than MKS encounters on howlwind hill. I found that howlwind hill is ultimately more efficient.

Under the circumstances shown in this video, no, it was not supposed to be hard. The point of the video was to show that I maximized my characters' levels, skills, and equipment - which, in itself, is an accomplishment. It's not difficult per se, but it takes a lot of time and dedication.

i used the My 3 golems setup to kill this one. turned into mazin on summon an 3 criticaled it then used the robot squad an they used their team attack 3 times as well. i got lucky because when it came back to my party they all hit it once an it died lol
Steropes is superior to Pa Troll, Brontes, many others. Plus, I've been unimpressed with nearly all the bonus monsters like Gryphon and Frillsaur. Release those embarrassments and get yourself the Killing Machines or Skeledoid.
Armor improvements can be done, but it'd take considerably more time. That's what I'm doing, as I'm tired of the Dragovian armor and shield. That and seeds of skill..

@fate255 or the three golems because they have pretty good defence and attack plus they can all morph together into Mazin who has 999 hp and hits around 300-400 and can launch desperate attacks from 800-900 and can psyche himelf up. Also if any of the three golems had tension before they morphed,that tension goes to Mazin

I loved dragonquest 8 only problem was game was a tad bit to easy, did all dragovian trials at lvl 54ish only did lvl 65 because the darksteel was the only hard dragon

this game took so long to level up, i gave up at about lvl 75 i had finished like 3 of the trials, i think back to all the effort i put into games back before trophies and accomplishments on ps3 and xbox, knights of the round materia fully maxxed, all of mgs substinence missions finished, O YEAH and 100% on san andreas, and gran turismo 3 & 4 100% and allot more stuff
you get it from completing the dragovian trials, and attain the dragovian armor, shield and helm. wear all three at once and it will chage your appearance...
to get the armour you have to beat this dragon. you will eventually end up fighting the lord of the dragovians, but first you gotta beat rapthorne. after that you have to fly to the area around the royal hunting grounds, and you will find a raised platform only accesible by air. land there and then you better get ready for a looong and tough journey through the path to the dragovian village. once you get to the village u gotta go through the heavenly realm of "dais", the most insane level
in the game, with white priests that can cast kathwack and not to mention deity trolls that will obliterate you in one hit. you should be at at LEAST level 80 before you attempt to go through here, but anyway once you finally do you will get to the lord of the dragovian's chamber will you will have to beat him he has 8 stages. dragovian form, vermillion dragon, emerald dragon, silver dragon, gold dragon, dark steal dragon, divine dragon and ultimate dragon. each time you beat a form he will
offer you a reward. to get the the hero's clothes to actually change you need to ask these prizes in any order: dragovian armour, dragovian helm, and dragovian shield. to get the dragovian king sword (which, btw, is the best sword in the game) you have to mix the dragovian sword (which is one of the prizes you can ask him for) and the liquid metal sword (which you can get by mixing the rusty old sword + slime crown + orichalcum). dragovian king sword is ULTIMATE!!
ha its actually easier than you think ;). their is a certain area where metal slimes, liquid metal slimes & metal king slimes are REGULARS. their is a raised plateau of land right near the Rydon's Tower area. fly over there and land on it; it's only accesible by air. metal slimes usually appear in large groups (10 or so) and are really easy to kill their because they dont flee as often. It's best to kill them with multiple hits as they only have 4hp. as for liquid metal slimes and metal king
the smartest thing to do is use one hit kill attacks. these are the kind of techniques that have a farely low chance of hitting, but will take down the enemy in one hit if it hits. these attacks are:
-Hatchet Man (yangus, axe)
-Executioner (yangus, axe) executioner is the leveled up version of hatchet man, so it has a greater accuracy
-Thunder Thrust (Hero, Spear)
these are the best ones to have. it is good to have whistke with yangus for this area, so you can quickly call up monsters
if the enemies you called up dont contain what you want (i.e. no liquid metal sllimes or metal king slimes) then you can flee, or intimidate, or fight them anyway if you want. but once you really get into it i actually recommend fleeing, because it is the fasteset way to try again if you find no metal slimes. you will find that metal slimes appear so mutch more often than liquid metal slimes/ metal king slimes, so eventually you can ignore them and only go for the bigger prizes ( i did this XD )

Looks good, except Yangus can attack for more damage with non-Flail weapons. Also, switch the Metal King Shield to Yangus and equip Angelo with the Saintess Shield.
I've done you one better. If you look to your right, you'll see an updated list of equipment. Yangus gas the MK Shield, and Angelo has the Goddess Shield, while Jessica has the Saintess Shield. Yangus uses the Megaton Hammer (and in my other file, the Conqueror's Axe).
Timbrel of Tension ~ Sun Crown, Magic Beast Hide, Tough Guy Tattoo.
The Tough Guy Tattoo can be bought in Argonia's Bazaar or found and is a recipe for other items.
The Magic Beast Hide is an item found on monsters like the Great Sabrecats. Make sure, throughout your travels, to stock 2.
The Sun Crown is the tricky one since there are only 2 in the game and as Skull Helms. Remake the Skull Helms with Saint's Ashes and, viola, Sun Crown.
south end off the island there's an area with clouds over it (shows only accesible with soulstone) Pa troll is up on the ramp, if you go down and west after you kill him you find a ruinious shield &+ stoneman, the best golem for your monster teams ^_^

actually their much easier to get then you think. if you wanna kill metal king slimes/liquid metal slimes then use these attacks:
-lightning thrust (hero, spear)
-hatchet man (yangus, axe)
-executioner (yangus, axe)
if they hit, these do about 300 dmg to them
if you dont have any of these yet then your best bet is regular slashes (no abillities) because they have a slight chance of getting critical hits.
TIP: use accelerate with jessica! youll have a better chance of getting them

Actually you only get 350 points if I remember correctly meaning that you need 30 seeds of skill each character to get the remaining 150 points they require

how many skill points are there total for a character? like when u reach lvl 99 can u max out all 5 skills to 100?

Looks good, except Yangus can attack for more damage with non-Flail weapons. Also, switch the Metal King Shield to Yangus and equip Angelo with the Saintess Shield.

I've done you one better. If you look to your right, you'll see an updated list of equipment. Yangus gas the MK Shield, and Angelo has the Goddess Shield, while Jessica has the Saintess Shield. Yangus uses the Megaton Hammer (and in my other file, the Conqueror's Axe).

It comes with a damage multiplier against dragons, so it is the best sword in the game for the Trials.

Timbrel of Tension ~ Sun Crown, Magic Beast Hide, Tough Guy Tattoo.
The Tough Guy Tattoo can be bought in Argonia's Bazaar or found and is a recipe for other items.
The Magic Beast Hide is an item found on monsters like the Great Sabrecats. Make sure, throughout your travels, to stock 2.
The Sun Crown is the tricky one since there are only 2 in the game and as Skull Helms. Remake the Skull Helms with Saint's Ashes and, viola, Sun Crown.

once you've got soulstone go to the dark ruins,
south end off the island there's an area with clouds over it (shows only accesible with soulstone) Pa troll is up on the ramp, if you go down and west after you kill him you find a ruinious shield &+ stoneman, the best golem for your monster teams ^_^

final fantasy x took me 255h 36 min to get everything maxed characters.
dragon quest took me 124h 54 min to get everything and maxed char...
I still have ffx one of the best games ever..but i sold dq another one of the best games ever... so annoyin :(
