in hold'em the best 5 card hand wins. The best 5 card hand for both players was the A-2-3-4-5 straight on the board.

yeah the pot is straight but isn't it because sara has a pair of "A" she has an advantage there? sorry about the questions lol

The extra ace in Sara's hand becomes irrelavent if an ace or 6 comes up on the river. Sara can't have both a straight and a pair, her best 5 cards are A2345 just like Brad. If a 6 came up they would both have 23456 and the ace would also be irrelavent. What happened to Sara is called getting counterfeited.

thanks i got it now... i have many questions lol but the main one was how sometimes when both hands are winning, they split the pot (in other situations) i can't remember an example... but sometimes i thought because the other ones hand was higher they'd win but they split the pot!

No in Hold 'Em you make the best hand from 7 cards, the two in your hand and the five on the table. In this draw the best hand was the 5 on the table, it didn't matter what cards anyone was holding.

It's not that difficult to understand.
