i live in ocean beach and see spectacular surfers--world class any day, every day...i ain't bragging--i'm inviting cool ppl wherever to come to ob.

it's not just the spot for world class surfers, it is also a nice retirement town that is pedestrian and bicycle friendly--come on down:)

p.s. there is great danger of spontaneous party all over the place.

At 2:33 the guys is surfing a reef called Casa. Not a very bright move, because it has chunks of reef that will literally suck dry right in the middle of the lineup. It's a pretty junky right. The lefts I think are Whalers (also called Hospital Point), a little further south. It's wrong swell direction though, Whalers is best on a massive southern hemi, not West.

And no, I'm not blowing La Jolla's secret spots. Casa isn't really a wave. It explodes, and 3 seconds later backs off to nothing. Whalers some years doesn't even break at all (or break right). When it does, it's a ledgy beast that will heave you onto the ledge if you fall, so it's not exactly a popular wave. There are reasons why these guys are out there alone, but hey, I've done the same thing right there too.

Or maybe they are surfing the left off Casa up toward Boomers. Now that is a true secret spot because....it's illegal. :P You can't have any flotation devices North of the lifeguard tower, as I learned once over the bullhorn. Now as far as all of the other once in a blue moon breaks in La Jolla, I aint sayin' jack.
