Sometimes I think that there's a YouTube user out there who has a really fucking childish sense of humor. He sees a dope hip hop video, and lo and behold, it is without dislikes. So this bastard looks at the bar, and he looks at it, and this big grin steals across his face. He looks around to see if anyone's looking, and if his mother isn't there, he moves the mouse and hits the "dislike" button. And then he giggles like it's the funniest fucking thing in the whole fucking world.
@Preppedsoccer05 hip hop is infinitely better than rap. although i do like some rap. i just love the instrument styles in hip hop a lot better, especially when its as jazzy as this.
I was listening to Sirius the other day and a song came on with the intro "Mellow my man" repeated over and over. It made a couple references to the roots, tribe, native tongues possie etc. "Mind Power" ETC
I tried using Shazaam but it didnt recognize it.
I looked up songs that sampled the roots but couldnt find anything.... .
i was in a bad mood...so i HAD to put this song on to cure it. this automatically makes me feel thankful for EVERYTHING.
(no wonder i get so offensive when i hear people say "hip hop is awful and theres nothing special about it, it just sucks all the time" those people have obviously only heard a few songs on the radio which shouldnt even be considered in the same category as The Roots....this makes me appreciate life on a whole 'nother level :)
it's a shame that most people don't know about the roots. They are true hip hop. It's also a shame that most people can't even listen to them because they've been brainwashed by the new artists to think hip hop n rappin is all about talkin shit n sayin your the best. For all you people that listen to the roots n appreciate their music, u truly know what's good music. God bless the roots
gotta be my favorite song on this album. Thanks for puttin this up TairHesticles. Bass line is pronounced, drum beat is unique, flow is professional, so much soul to this song.
The album changed my perspective on hip-hop. This was my favorite cut. I loved when the beat changed and Malik B came in an ripped his verse up. Black Thought is one of the greatest to ever do it.
@DexChick90 Music is a commodity like anything else thats exchangeable, who are you to decide what's "good", I'm sick and tired of reading about "music these days" it's so myopic. You have to understand, do you think all music in 1995 was like this? of course there was trite money grabbing music back then too. Songs like these have stood the test of time you can't judge the present like the past.
@ZachsGayCat there's nothing like a hairy scrotum-the scrotum of a nigga that's gone through puberty(physically a man)-if you want/prefer smooth...women are available-the opposite of men.
