  • All These Bitter Bitches SMH

  • nothing wrong with the umpiring, except the stepping cox n off side of bertouch. its so obvious but the umpires didnt blow.....

  • Oh my god just leave the umpires alone! The obstructions were actually obstructions because the defenders foot was coming in towards the attacker before she had realised the ball! Its simple netball! New Zealand won. Get over It.

  • I'm so glad that Netballers dont wear the awful long baggy uniforms like our American female Basketball players wear ! I wish they would change to this type of uniform. It would make the sport much more appealing.

  • The Aussie commentators Liz and Luke are awesome. This is a great clip except of course for the stupid comments that appear on the screen about the umpiring. JUST ANOTHER SOUR GRAPES AUSSIE FAN. Thank God most Aussies know how to take their beans with dignity and style.

I dunno, maybe the Diamonds could've resorted to passing underarm.

  • this shows that the english & south african umpires need to step up when it comes to games like this !

  • The obstruction at 0.18 is a good call.. it was arms before distance. I think this person was slightly bias.. lol Who else thinks the Ferns got world champs this year?? Especially with the team that the Plumer picked??

  • let me guess, you are Australian ? because it seems, everything the Australians get pulled up for it is wrong, but everything the Ferns get pulled up for it is correct ... hmmm , wierd ....

  • that actually was obstruction because in netball when you fall like they did it doesn't matter if your arms are up or down its obstruction if you fall into them, the defenders should've fallen to the side, then it wouldn't have been obstruction.

  • @ChocolateFountain101 pretty sure its contact not obstruction - back to the rule book maybe

  • @MsOpal27 well it's only contact if you touch them. I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough when I said fall into them, I didn't literally mean like fall on them I just meant fall forward, and that is obstruction.

  • I think the call on Mcmahon at the end was correct. She knew it too, thats why she passed off, and anyway, she passed it straight to Langman. There were a lot of dodgy calls though.

  • @sleater84 Yep I agree Mcmahon moved into Langmans line and caused the contact.

  • Why would ANYONE bother to make another shit game like Korfball. :E

  • are you crazy or what man

  • SOUR GRAPES ALLRIGHT - ITS WAT AUSTRALIA GET WHEN THEY WANT TO ROUGH IT UP WIF DA FERNS - SUCK IT UP AUZZIES - NZ ALL THE WAY MATE (TO THE WORLD CUP LOL)

  • @26Charis Are you educated at all over there because clearly you cannot spell and I love your use of mate just another kiwi want to be trying to be an Aussie

  • Oh. My. Goodness. Ok, so what about at 7 seconds when Gerrard should have been called for contavt against Temepara. You have only pointed out ones that go against Aussie, but even half of them you can't really call just from seeing a video. It always looks different when you are actually there. Personally I think the umpires were consistant and unbiased. If you have a problem with them why don't you take up umpiring and see if you can do any better

  • Disagree being unbiased i.e. not from nz or auz I thought the umpiring was very good. If only umpires could make less mistakes than players then? Its all in the judgement from where you are watching from. Great to have a camera and zoom in for a closer view and a replay as well before blowing the whistle! Great display match of netball and umpiring - well done to all!!

  • This great Kiwi's love it when Australians act like this. This is what makes beating you ssweet!!!

  • Trust an Australian to pick up most of the bad calls made to Australian players, there have been plenty games ive seen where NZ have had alot bad calls. The bad calls go both ways and from a television angle some of the calls look soft but when you are out there playing its alot more physical then it looks, if you are being constantly called for obstruction/contact you need to adjust to that umpiring that whats good players do, there are always going to be bad calls in a game.

  • when you say watch bully did she even touch her.....THE REF is there its his call and this vidoe is just moot but I understand its good to look at things and see where doid it go wrong I would have done the same if the kiwis lost so this is understandable

  • Also you have to remember the umpires are up closer than the Camera view, so they have a different view point.

  • i like how what is highlighted in this video are all the calls that went against aussie hahahaha...nz won, sour grapes mate.

  • But you only highlighted what went against Australia. The SFs were getting random calls aswell. As far as the umpiring, NZ and AUS have the best umpires in my opnion. However they cant umpire a NZ, Aus game so unfortunately theres not lot you can do. International Umpires are not up with the speed of the game that is displayed by these two teams in particular. So we just have to put up with the crappy umpires (dumb).

  • williams is one of the cleanest defenders out she get pulled because shes taller than than shorter aussie shooters whereas furhman who is within 3 feet half the time hardly gets called for contact shes so clumsy shes soo out of timing...mcmahon and her 2.7 sec held it was quick but medhurst can take a long time on her shot...bottom line reffing should be at aust and NZ level but unfortunately its not

  • NZ won the Gold Medal. Sour grapes mate.

  • @MultiWellington1 Maybe! Gotta vent somehow.

  • @NetballVicGuru NO sorry at the end of the day the gold medal sits on the kiwis because they kept it together they played the best menatly and wanted it more thats the way it is and WE LOVED IT!!!!!

  • I didn't think the umpiring was good either, did anyone notice that at the start, when the umpire calls the GA for breaking, the reason she put her toe over the line was because the GD pushed her, I"m not completely sure but it sure looks like it, anyway, good job to both sides, it was an amazing game!

  • @netball4eva101 That was highlighted in the clip.

  • @NetballVicGuru Wow from what I can see she was nudged but even more than that at the time the whistle blew she was well on side...lol

  • Personally i liked the umpiring it was even for both sides ..? None of it was by-ass compared to other games previously..?? B4 this one

  • 2.7 seconds really? How would the ref be able to watch these replays that closely and make a decision in a couple of seconds!!

  • I dont get the point of this video.this has always been the case when NZ plays Australia or vice versa. This game was no different. They style of netball aus plays will always draw attention from the umpires because of their man on man marking and there will be a whistle because each aussie player will be upfront and close to their counterparts whereas the kiwis play into space and use zone defense which doesn't require tight in your face marking that would easily draw a contact.

  • @marcellin20a Regardless of the 'style' a team plays...irrelevant! Just umpire according to the rules! But you make a good point.

  • I agree that the umpiring needs to improve however you are debating small things like 2.7 seconds and 3 seconds (especially as Sharelle takes 5 seconds to shot every time) and soft contacts where in the past umpires have been useless.

But I do agree with you Australia had bad calls, NZ had bad calls (that you didn't put in) and hopefully these umpires can train at ANZ champs or do something because it is not fair to the players or the fans having heart attacks.

  • @bexc1234 Which were the NZ calls?

  • @bexc1234 Can you show me an example of Sharelle taking 5 seconds to shoot?

  • Well the umpiring is always crap and both teams get bad calls but I disagree with you about most obstruction calls, all the ones you pointed out were too close, 3 feet is longer then the Australian defenders were. Plus these calls were consistent the whole game

In the beginning of the clip Williams did not contact Sharelle she put pressure on her so Sharelle made a mistake.

At 3:30 Bully was holding Maria, you cant have your hands out like that.

  • But the Bully contact is a really soft call

  • @bexc1234 Agree about Williams. It was a soft call. But the 'contact' in question was the reason Sharelle broke.

  • @bexc1234 I was not question the 'distance' as such. I question a player being able to stand at a distance with arms up and not be penalised but be penalised when they land with arms down and not be interfering. The umpire has obviously acknowledged they are happy with the distance other wise they would have penalised the obstruction as soon as they players (Bulley & Fuhrns) arms went up.

  • @NetballVicGuru If you watch the whole game you can clearly see the umpire lets them STRETCH and then lands then he pulls them up because its short of 3 feet just like i said ..??He gives them the right but then they break it when they land both sides..

  • why don't they get these umpires who seem to always end up umpiring the major finals, get them to umpire in the anz champs? that way they get week in week out of the highest level netball? Then when it comes to these major competitions they will be used to the physicality and speed of netball at its best... but that's just my humble opinion.

  • bulley gets call because of her feet landing its short of 3 feet so its obstuction..?? and furhmen gets a way with a lot of holding and defending out of court.. oh and i see you didnt say natalie went offside at 3:40..

I think this game was an abosolutely great umpiring compared to the desasterous calls from the earlier test..?? as for aussie defence they get away with alot of calls and our shooters stood up to it and marai was just mentally the best shooter of them all

  • @KURarEp You can't tell whether Nat went offside.

  • @NetballVicGuru well you cant tell that temepara stepped nat's looks more obvious..??bt she didnt get pulld

  • @KURarEp 'her feet landing its short of 3 feet'. This is not the rule. A players arms must be up to obstruct.

  • @NetballVicGuru Umm yes it is the rule is you have to be 3 feet away.. Unless the player with the balls steps in if your up stretching and fall short of 3 feet in the landing its obstruct..?Look it up Mate..

  • @NetballVicGuru "A players arms must be up to obstruct." This is incorrect a player can be obstructing by standing in line of the pass/shot, where no attempt was being made to get the correct distance. In this case its debatable if the players are obstructing because we cant see the game from the umpires view.

  • @murkh811 The Diamonds defenders landed within three feet with hands down and not interfering. The whistle was blown when they landed. The ball was about to be released also. Intimidation was not a factor.

  • @NetballVicGuru because she landed in the 3 feet of the grounded feet and does it MATTER KIWIS got the gold end of story
