Aerosol is NOT intended to be used to set off smoke detectors or Co2 Detectors. It CAN weaken the censor thus making the alarm(s) NOT as good at detecting smoke or co2!
oh well, I never use these detectors any more. I use my rafiki system and I use a more smoky deodorant so it doesnt weaken the detector. Im going to gt some testing spray soon
@Ladiesman2175995 This helps to identify what device has triggered. If there's loads of these on a system and someone has falsely triggered it, then it speeds up the process of finding where the alarm occured.
That sounder is made to work with a certain control panel so it can work properly with all of its features like changing the tones with a button or changing the flash rate with a button if it has a strobe. The panel that will work with it is n the site if you look carefully. Itis a lot like the GENT alarms in the UK.
you need to vaccum them, not spray aserosol cans on them, it goes for carbon monoxide alarms and smoke alarms as well but they must also be de-activated when ur doin so.
I dont have a panel but one is on order! do you have a s65 smoke detector? you need a relay base by the way, you put the live wire into the L1 screwfix on the base and then the negative into the + block connector
Do you have a control panel or did you rig it (hotwire or something)? If you just wired it up, how did you do it? I'd like to add a smoke detector to my fire alarm system, it's paneless.
that sounds like my security alarm instead... but still great =]

Do you need a software programm to delect the tones on the red sounder? I am from germany and i think that's the IQ8-Alarm ...?
RheinlandPfalz 3 years ago
No but it depends which alarm type it is, you might need a panel compatiable with the souder if its addressable. Is it manufactured by esser?
brownguyrav2007 3 years ago
Stimmt, aber der Rauchmelder passt nicht zum ESSER IQ8 System...

Why does spraying an aerosole on the detector activate it?
mattycurrie 4 years ago
because it blocks the signal form the 2 diodes on each sde so the spray will mask and it will block the signal
brownguyrav2007 4 years ago
I do clean my detectors once a week. I like to keep my system in order.
brownguyrav2007 4 years ago
Its not recommended to use any aerosol as it might damage the components, that why they have special a type for "smokes"
