This movie is freaking fantastic, but it has the worst deleted scenes. If they would have left all of the scenes in the movie would have only been 4 minutes longer.
1:40 I KEEP LAUGHING AT THAT PART WHEN CORALINE SAYS "i think dinner... might have a virus" I KNEW WHAT SHE MENT! LOL! I REPLAYED THAT PART ALL OVER AGAIN AND I KEPT CRACKING UP!!!
I freaking love this movie my friends all tease me about it they are like "dude your 16 and it's a kids movie" and they tease me because I get pretty emotional when watchhing it ( I cryed when her parents where missing and when the movie ended) but it's a great movie and I love it. It's the best movie I have ever seen.
Im So Laughing At Coraline At This Deleted Scene 2:20 When She Said That Wybie Is Too Psycho To Be A Friend And So Sad To See Misses Her Friends Back On Michigan And When She Threw A Lady Bug On Her Mother Coffee I Cant Believe That Her Mom Didnt Even Know There's Bug On Her Coffee And Well The Last Part I Laugh So Hard That She Heard That The Shool She Is Going Needs Uniforms. Well For Onething Wearing Uniforms Are For Wacks Ok.
No matter how many times I rewatch this movie, I still see the animation as though for the first time. The character designs are stunning as well--Coraline's in particular. This movie is a work of art, and as a story and adaptation it's spectacular.
(And I agree with everyone else that the "Your grandma's black, right?" scene shouldn't have been cut--it's adorable and hilarious and fits well into the scene it's opening.)
I don't know WHY they needed to delete any scenes. (Especially when they keep the one with Wybie being gross with a snail) When I saw them, the movie made more sense to me! Sometimes it's the little things that help it all snap in place!
I love the "Your grandma's black right?" also i like the first deleted scene where they are talking about the power outage, Coralines reaction was funny!
@thespartonmaster11 lol, that's not racist...she's asking cause one of the ghost children is black, and earlier in the movie wybie talks about his grandmother's sister who went missing :P
*blink* I'm not sure why it's racist to ask if his grandmother is black. It's a valid question--the sweet ghost girl is black, might be her twin, and although Wybie looks definitely at least part black, there's no guarantee that his grandmother is, too, right?
I figured his "yyyeah?" was simple where-the-heck-did-that-come-from confusion. Ghosts, ribbons, and my grandma's phenotype? Not offense, just wtfing. After all, the last time I checked, 'black' wasn't an offensive term. *puzzled*
@arijanian: Yeah, I agree. The mention of "black" wasn' offensive at all. Wybie only went like "...yyyeah..?" because it seemed random to him, having no idea what Coraline's talking about anyway.
me too. i think there should be a coraline 2. the other mother is still on the other side, its just that her hand is gone. and she finds a way to get out.
@glowee123 Well, the only way the Other Mother would be able to get out would be w/ the key, and Coraline got rid of that. Plus in the book it makes it clear that the Other Mother's reign of terror is over after Coraline does everything she's supposed to do XD
Ha haha, I wish they'd put that bit with Coraline asking about Wybie's grandmother being black. xD That was so sudden - "Wait, your grandma's black right?"
I saw the ribbon mice in theaters. Everybody was just staring in awe. xD Well, more like me and the 3 people left in the theater, hehe.
AND LOL at Coraline asking about Wybie's grandmother's color. I don't find that racist or offensive, just hilarious. I say that because the smallest allusion to race can set off a tidal wave of controversy these days. Thats probably why that part never made it to the movie. D:
Its all well and good saying about a sequel and id love it to but the fact is to promote the movie they gave away 50 boxes with props.. from hair to hands to the cocoa beetles.. They would have to make that all again
The Beldam's hand escaped the tunnel that lead to the real world, but Wybie crushed it with a rock near the well and Coraline threw it into the well with the key.
Of course, the Beldam IS still in the Other World, but she's dying. She doesn't have a child to eat, which means all she has left to do is die in her spider web which was once the place Coraline was meant to love and later despise.
i think he should make another on of Gaiman's books
As well rly You know Some sequel just are not as good as teh first maybe it could explain the ghost children experiences or well what could be the sequel if there was one
u know what would be so cool is that henry selick said that since alot of people want a sequel to coraline, they make a sequel. But he said it took them 3 to 4 months to make coraline, so it might take them that long.
lol i love that part....i wish their would've been more backstory or screentime with wybie. he's my favorite and it was a smart idea to put him in the film
That line really seemed unnecessary. When I saw this deleted scene I was like: 'Whuh!?'
It felt like the scene caused the show to grind to a halt to wonder about Wybie's and his Grandmother's ethnicity.
Btw, in the film when Coraline and her Mom come back from clothes shopping, and they show the side of the fridge, you can see Coraline's spiral doodles from the 'buggy roses' scene on a piece of paper on the fridge.
