  • Me Like!

  • Great! Some Jive Bunny song brought me here

  • wow this beautiful chick can sing best song ever

  • This is one of my favourite all time great tracks. This was a real MONSTER sound...and even now listening to it after so many years still sounds fantastic and exhilarating.....It was a really magical sound....In the days of when there was the prevalent use of the strobe in pitch darkness people would be seen magically oscillating across the dance floor to this...This is a fantastic piece of music. One of the best tracks by this artist.

  • Great, simply great...i

  • I interviewed Chris in 2002 at The Palladium in London. Just the nicest guy, very down to earth and gave a terrific performance that night.

  • Ahh the Raza Years, the hair cracks me up though.

  • Oh dear! This clip has ruined wonderful childhood memories of hearing it the first time I walked into a youth club!

    Dave!!

  • I can't listen to this song without thinking of the rude version my mum made for it

  • I saw Chris Montez on stage in about 1963, he was awful

  • He is the man!!!

  • Dear audience,

If you can't clap in time, then sit on your hands & SHUT THE FUCK UP !

Another great song ruined by a stupid audience.

  • I love this song but the hippy shout get a hair cut.

  • Grumble! This song is heavily dominated by the organ player but I didn't see him once. During the organ solo is a close-up of somebody playing guitar! It's about time keyboard players of the world unite and demand the recognition we deserve!!!

  • @GaryReggae No disrespect to you man but if you watch the video you hear drums, bass, and organ but if you notice every time the camera panned around there was nobody but Montez doing anything

  • @GaryReggae I agree one-hundred percent! Why are fretboard players billed as "lead guitar," "acoustic guitar," "rhythm guitar," or "electric bass guitar," but pianists, organists, and synthesists are slighted with billing as "keyboard"? If the musician plays a Vox or Farfisa organ, he/she should be billed as playing "electric combo organ." If the musician plays a Fender-Rhodes, he/she should be billed as playing "electric stage piano." Remember, PIANO IS THE TRUE ROCK INSTRUMENT, NOT GUITAR!

  • @ejslurb2007 Yes, I am an organist...I'm not that good at playing piano as there's quite a big difference in the technique...just because both have keys doesn't mean they're the same any more than standard guitars and bass guitars are not the same despite the fact they both have a fretboard!

  • every kid looks like they couldnt give a crap that he's right there. Idk about anyone else but i would be up dancing, at minimum i tap my feet every time i hear this song!

  • thumbs up if you giggled when you saw the singer... :D

  • we jammed to this in '63 at PSU in Happy Valley! Rock on, Chris!!

  • Very king!!!

  • Yowza!

I gassed my motorcycle with pocket change back then!

  • What year was this video from.

  • Fun times! Hotrods and teen dances on Saturday night with admission of fifty cents if you could afford the price. Ha!

  • one of the first records I bought in 1962 at age 12 I have to say I loved the single but this live version is not as good, and I have to say the haircut and clothes don't help well it's a great song I remember it was a blue label I can't remember what it was but it was the only record I ever saw on that label

  • HIS follow-up 'SOME kinda FUN' IS ALSO VERY GOOD

  • FOOOOD FIGHT!!!!

  • He'll be at El Camino College in torrance on Nov 19th 2010.

  • I seen him in a show when he was on tour with Tommy Roe, think it was early 1963, and there was some group with them as a support act , think they were called The Beatles.........don't know what happened to them !!!!!

  • I was a freshman at Penn State when this broke (came out). Bunch of guys played guitars in the dorm to the tune. please bring back the 60s!!

  • I just met this guy yesterday. Such a down to earth man.

  • one of the first records I ever bought

  • ah some song just make you get up dance

  • And the royalites keep rolling in for this super song that has stood the passage of time.

  • wonderfull. does anyone knows where chris recorded that clip???it seems a club or something like. was anyone of you at place then?

  • @edierc

The clip is taken from German TV show "Disco '73", edition of March 31, 1973. The show was taped for ZDF in tv studios in Hamburg.

All I hear is the organ and the drums.

  • Your on A Roll Slumbers 2 - thanks

Luv this catchy song + my Jive to this is pretty good lol!!!

  • goofy actin freaks , take some more acid, freako

  • Thanks for posting "Let's dance". It's absolutely one of my all-time favourite songs, and Chris sings it neatly with power. He played in Belgium a month ago, but I couldn't make it. As a matter of fact Tony Rivers has also recorded the track, but it's unfortunately unreleased.

  • Thanks for posting - what a great dance song!

  • It is amazing what we thought was "COOL"!

  • I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO

    someone want to chat qB

  • No pie is better than pizza

  • what a puff

  • tee57 awsome post 10/10

  • One of the great songs. Nothing like those oldies.

  • Chris Montez later became a boxer. He trained me at "Left Hook Boxing Gym" in Canoga Park, Ca. Same Gym that Ray Notaro owned and where Tony Danza and Sly Stallone trained. Chris was a great boxer and trainer and he went by the name, "Zeke". He is the nicest guy in the world..Thanks Chris/Zeke for your patience and kindness with me back inna day.

  • the audience looks dead.... still great song !!!

  • this comment has cheered me up..agree its a great song..

  • Anyone know what show this was or when? Judging from the clothing I'd say about 1977 or 1978. If the kids look bored it's because this was a hit for Montez in 1962. These kids were born about that time. They don't relate.

  • Those kids probably wanted to see The Bay City Rollers or Fog Hat. Not cool compared to Chris Montez. But man that get up he has on. The '70s were cruel. I prefer his early '60s look.

  • Hay dofhdsoh! Don't be hatin' that was pimp in those days. Yeah now it maybe silly but for now shut your mouth you shit bag!

    Thanks.

  • playback but still been cool

  • jest ok

  • Great song, luv it.

  • Crazy Man Crazy

  • Good clip. I don't remember ever seeing Chris Montez before; obviously, this is well after the song was a hit but fun still the same.

On a separate subject: Why do the cameramen focus on audience members that couldn't look any more bored than they do?

    Take care,

    Don

  • Immediately after posting that comment, I see that Chris Montez is a member of the YouTube community and has posted a couple of clips of himself doing Let's Dance and The More I See You -- two of his biggest hits. Let's Dance from late 1962 and The More I See You from mid-1966.

    Best wishes to Chris!

    Take care,

    Don
