Hi guys, the short is going to be playing on Nov. 29 th at the National Archives in Ottawa, I'll keep you posted of the details, would be great to see some couriers there. It's for the International Labour Film Festival.
how can i look for a this job.. i hav everything but my bike is mountain bike but in couple of mounth i will get a rod bike.. so please looking forword to talk to you.. thank you
I am not a messenger, but I am a bicycle mechanic (and I am one of the good ones), and I have been for 7 years now. And I LOVE IT! As I enter my 24th year on this world I am starting to think thoughts of "financial stability", and "young professional". Currently I am torn on wether I should stay true to myself or shoot for financial/material wealth (good for raising a family). This video is a resounding vote for my passion working with 2 wheels and pedal power. Thanks for the influence.
Thanks so much for this, I did the film for you guys, and I didn't care whatanyone thought but that the bike messengers would like it and that I had your voices in mind. It really makes me happy when I see how much you guys responded positively to it! My heart goes out to anyone who does this job or has tried it and especially in our Canadian winters.
this was cool for me... i wasnt a messenger for long, and would have continued if it werent for some idiots that ran the office... but seeing al again and angelo... and really good work with the movie! very impressed.
this is called hermes - bike messenger, i edited and directed and shot the film on a 16mm bolex and edited off a steinbeck i also recorded the interviews and edited the sound, and the music is leslie dishslayer - bike messenger, the bike messenger talking is angelo sarrazin a friend of mine from ottawa
Bike messengers are the coolest people in the world, the weather, the travel, the exercise, you decide the hours, your price, your destination, the open air, you are the athlete, free of office politics and the trash of unwanted co-workers and crappy managers and bosses....long live the fixies and one less car..
I really appreciate you posting a video like this. Especially when your at a point in your life where your graduating from school and figuring out what is really genuine in life. Do you search for freedom and happiness or do you enter into the world of "climbing the ladder"? Thanks for helping me discern this decision of what is really authentic in life.
Just discovered this tonight. Saw it on the "Suggestions" section. This is dope! Well done.

Leslie Dishslayer is the singer/composer/musician and also the girl being interviewed.
Well for Kungstash, if you live in a major city in a developed country there is for certain bike courier companies looking for bikers all the time.

This video is so touching! BTW, I'm going to be a bike messenger too. I totally get the meaning of it. Live fast, die young. Live to the fullest.

I agree with rynrecycled: it's wonderful. There's a sadness in the film. An intensity. A determination.
I was a messenger for six months in Manhattan. It's a tough job, but the overall sense of freedom is really hard to find in any other job.
