  • cool graphics (for a GBC) title but the sound sends me to the NES era

  • wow this game looks UGLY. But seriously it is pretty damn close to the original for a gbc game, esp the environments. The audio strikes me as more of a problem here.

  • Graphics are amazing! Ive never seen better graphics on the gameboy color

  • oh my god i grew up on this and the sound effects of the gbc is so nostalgic omg idk what to say i dunno how i should period this sentence arrr

  • I never heard of the gbc version... i never was up to date with some games and their systems... I have the snes and gba versions.

  • HORRAY FOR THE RHINO!!! :3 0:56

  • i play this game on my wii with the visual boy advance emulator

  • My game boy color broke, but i still have this game :DD

  • If Nintendo could put one of the most advanced games on the snes on gbc, why couldn't they have put super mario world on gbc.

  • This is bad-ass when one considers that this is literally a portable NES, and that it's from 11~ years ago. Why didn't they make games this good for the NES itself, at least in the later stages of its lifespan?

  • i think that the gameboy color version is better then the gba!

    it sounds better then gba

and the map is way better then gba.

    gba map sucks!

  • I honestly hated this game as a child, not because its a bad game, but because the snes version was too good to be ported to Game Boy Color

  • the graphics look like crap compared to the snes one

nintendo shouldn't push the game boy color so hard

  • i like this game but its hard as s**t with the keyboard

  • Probably the best-looking game on the GBC. But I really wish they had remade the old intro, with Cranky Kong blowing DK up.

  • Aww man, this was the very first version of the game I've ever completed. On the technical side it may not be as awesome as the SNES version, but it was still a pretty damn good game and many memories are connected with it.

  • Me gusto más el remake para GBA y consola virtual

  • I forgot how it looked like, but now I remember. It looks really old and ugly. But when I had it on the gameboy it was modern. Haah

  • el primer juego de gbc que me parece bueno

  • I didn't even know that a gameboy color version existed!

  • Im so pissed off that I lost this version because I got soooo far in it

  • screw this version! if i wanted to play DKC anywhere i want, i would get the game boy advance version, it has better graphics, because it is a 32- bit console, and like the SNES version, it uses so much sprites, it's like the game is in 3-D!

  • i used to have this game, brings bak good memories! Now i bought it of ebay and its on its way!

  • is diddy in this

  • @dethronethesonofgod Guess what that DK barrel is for! :)

  • Comment removed

  • @dethronethesonofgod No shit your stupid moron.

  • how do u get color in the game

  • This game is one of the better GBC games! Somehow I couldn't beat the Millstone Mayhem level, which was really hard! Recently I got past that annoying level, yay!

  • For a GBC game, the graphics are pretty good.

  • pretty impressive for the Gameboy Color. Nice, smooth scrolling backgrounds, but the color palette was pretty limited. I habve the Gameboy Advance version, which is much better.

  • this game looks amazing for game boy color

i always wanted to buy it as a kid

  • this was my shit

  • Cranky says in crankys cabin to enjoy this demo. Wtf this was a demo?

  • you missed so many extra lives.lol

  • memories

  • Wow! The GBC version actually looks pretty good for a sorta-modern 8-bit game

  • that intro...reminds me of DK64

  • when you get on the rhino you be the rihno?

  • the snes version was the most kickass game ever. mostly because i played it when i was little nonstop so everytime i play it now i gives me weird awesome feelings lololol is the gba version just like the snes version because the gbc isnt

  • Gah! DK's eyes look TERRIFYING on the menu screen! Why did they have to use a direct screen capture of DK64's menu?

  • @SergeantLuke they were so lazy, that they not only did that, but kept music from Donkey Kong Land....

  • @supergameboy94 sinc this game on super nintendo was pretty much my childhood, the music meens a lot to me. i almost bought it til i read this comment lol

  • @supergameboy94 they did put a snes game on gbc though. Which is pretty-wait he deoesn't even ride the rhino?

  • @Koolkitties He turns into it.

  • @supergameboy94 They did this for a quick buck. In the GBA version they added some pointless filler, and the graphics aren't even the same! SNES version all the way, everytime.

  • @SergeantLuke lol DK even looks scary a little bit at 0:19

  • This was one of my favs on gbc, and it had the best graphics of the gbc cause all other games looked like nes.

  • OMFG i remember i used to play this all the time when i was small..holy shit.i cat find the game now /:( but i remember this level so perfectly

  • donkey kong country for the GBA looks way better than this graphic wise

  • @thesparta1812

well yeah, there is nothing different in that, since this is a gameboy color game, SNES version looks a hell better than the GBA one, but since these graphics looks awesome for a gameboy color.

  • @thesparta1812

Yeah but the GBA version is flawed as well. They changed too much stuff, and ruined the music and the ending. They fucked up the 2 sequels even worse on GBA. DKC3 in particular was totally butchered

  • @theSuperMetroid dk2 was da best 1 cause dixie kong is n it n dkc1 sucked and the music sucked

  • Gotta love the weird looking DK64 menu select.

  • You know, when I first got this game for Christmas long ago, I was pretty upset because it wasn't quite the same as the original Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. I would play the SNES version religiously when I was younger.

But, I played GBC version for awhile, and started to get hooked! It has a different flavor than the original and is fun in it's own right. I probably played this as much as I did the Pokemon games back in the day.

  • I want to get this for my GBC...

  • You know, there are practically no videos of the Game Boy Color version. No one has even uploaded the ending of this game, except me.

  • That's Right....

I saw that video! I never got to the ending in the GBC version...

    Good Upload ;)

  • High-definition, too.

  • This is the first DKC I had...

It's selection screen reminds me of a little something I call DK64.

  • This is the first DKC I've played.....

& DK64 is how i remembered the game (Yes, I notice the screen when I first played it)...

In second grade, in 2001, I rented both around the same time... I actually bought DK64 in 2004 & completely completed it!=)

  • nobody puts music of this game

  • The some music of the GBC version on Youtube...

  • I was impressed that they even managed to put a game like Donkey Kong Country on the GBC. And they actually did it fairly well.

  • I know! although sometimes I notice (when I look at DK & Diddy) that they look rather 2Dish...

  • Damn, that was pretty short... :/

  • pretty good gameboy port. not like mortal kombat

  • This is the version of the game I owned as a kid, instead of the SNES one.

  • Since 5th grade I owned the GBA Version.

  • my couzin's copy of this game broke :'(

  • I will kill your COUZ!!

  • it wasn't our fault, we loved the game

  • o wait, it was donkey kong land

  • ha ha ha! my friend had DKL years ago (i was in the 2nd grade) I don't know if he still has it or not....
