how did they not realize everyone sucked when the heard the other contestants singing...remember watching this when i was young but dont remember if they ever explained anything like that.

@nikki18702 The contestants only saw each other's performances on monitors from backstage, and they did voice-overs so no one actually heard anyone else sing. This is the first time any of them ever heard each other. It was really really sneaky but they did a good job hiding the truth :)

Like, I wondered what people who knew them thought when they heard they were on a show and what happened after the show and all that. Okay, well, I was still in Germany, back then, when he was on the show and I was happy for him at first, but I was also a bit suspicious, because even though Mario loved to sing, I didn't really think that he really had the 'talent' for it... I mean, he was cute when he sang to me on the phone, but well... It's just not 'singer' quality. So, I wasn't surprised when I found out it was a hoax. I was pissed that they'd be so cruel, though. And well. He won $10k, so he flew me (c)
