  • Hahaha damn you made my day, especially hów you explained it, love it thanks!

  • thank you, was wondering what the issue was, i have now uninstalled all the plugins I had tried! :) thanks again.

  • It really worked and easier than i thought.

  • Another way to make your blog more lively and entertaining is by adding videos to it. Youtube is the best. More Wordpress Video Tutorials at EasyWordpressMasteryDotCom

  • Youtube video is great to embed, plugins are available for free.

    More Wordpress Videos EasyWordpressMasteryDotCom

  • The other way to post Utube Videos on your WP Page is to paste the UTube Embed code using the "HTML" not the "VISUAL"

    Thanks!

  • thank you for this simple video...dating back to 2007, but yet relevant today. i found wp dashboard has changed since your video, but your instructions are simple enough to follow, so i could accomplish this task with ease. thanks to you, i've just embedded my first you tube video to my site ksq8.com. for a newbie, this feels good.

  • Thank you! Thank you! I too had trouble finding it though. Now have to check the box to disable, but I found it in seconds and I have been frustrated by this for quite a while now!

  • Thank you! I didn't find it there, though - I found it under users, profile and then had to check disable visual editor when writing.

  • Thank you so much for making this! I finally got it to work! Check it out! communityinspire. org

  • it worked! thanks for the helpful tip!

  • it won't let me "publish it" anything special i should do after embedding

  • thks alot!! It worked!

  • Очень старая версия wordpress-а)))

  • I did really helped

  • Thank you very much!

  • it was minimum unsain !

  • saved me after about an hour of trying to figure it out. even though wordpress has changed a bit, it was all still there and I could do it! thanks!

  • Worked fine.

Go to left menu >> Users >> Personal Settings and check the box that says "disable visual rich text editor".

  • Sadly wordpress is always changing and making plugins continue to be updated which breaks many of them including any custom work you do to it.

  • Or just insert the url in the post, and change to HTML (instead of visual) at the right. Gotta love the new wordpress :)

  • Thanks! works perfect and it is much easy now!

  • With Wordpress changes it's still easy... On the "Add New Post" box, just choose HTML and add the YouTube imbed code. I've also used a little "cheater." I take a screen shot of the particular frame on the video I want to use, using the "snipping tool" on my PC. I create a JPEG of that shot which I place in my blog post with a separate link that takes you to the YouTube video - almost the same effect as an imbed with the added feature of being able to select my own "display frame."

  • Whats not to get, this is exactly what I was looking for

  • WordPress 3.2 is here guys. Watch this channel for more...

  • yeah its an older version of wordpress. but the tutorial workd great! thanks!!

  • Thanks Jack for another great tip. Been following your newsletter since a while now and found it very useful. Real great stuff and very useful.

  • You're an excellent teacher. You made things so simple.

  • Really helpful video. Thanks!

  • All you need to do now is paste the plain URL in the posting, and it will auto-embed. This video is sorta obsolete if you have Wordpress 3.0+

  • Even with the updated wordpress this was very helpful I just had to look around a bit more. Cheers

  • thanks a lot man!!!!!

  • goto settings then media and check Embeds

    Auto-embeds

make sure this is clicked off, then it will work. thats what i had to do. this guys wordpress is old as shit this video is from 2007. pce thumbs up me bitchez :D

  • ily

  • thanks dude, super helpful. keep killing it

  • wow... thanks a bunch

  • So helpful - Nice pace..not slow and boring!! Keep it up. people like me need you!! Thanks!

  • thanks! perfect!

  • omg thank you so much!!!!

  • Thanks for the help..

  • Thanks man, worked great! Thumbs up!

  • Thank YOU.. worked perfectly.

  • Thanks man...

  • Tool that automatically removes "related videos" from your embedded video:

    norelatedvideos.weebly.com/

  • THANK YOU! I needed this!

  • thank you! with the newer version, go to Users, Personal Settings, and under the Options menu you will see Visual Editor with a little box that says "disable the visual editor when writing". It works.

  • Yay, many thanks, been looking for the answer to this extremely annoying problem!

(nb for others, it does work with wordpress 3 - but the little box to uncheck is at the top of the page now.)

  • Thanks!

  • helped me, thank you

  • I just tried embedding youtube yideo into word press 3.0. IT WORKS GREAT.

    Many Thanks jdh358

  • Thanks WP brother. I have the new WP version that is tabbed at the top of the editor. Two tabs ( visual or html ).. Wondering if once the embed code is pasted in ( html mode) can user toggle back over to visual and continue the posting in text. I will try this and answer my own question. My guess is probably not.

  • thanks man

  • Nice one, different version of wordpress, but just look around, it's all there.... thanks!

  • Thanks for this - most helpful! All the best, Nigel

  • Wow this makes this easy. Why don't the wordpress folks show us this?

  • thank you very much..even thoug wordpress change i still got it..u rock ;)

  • Yes, Wordpress has changed, but this was still a GREAT help! Have to be willing to take a chance or two, but it was clear enough there wasn't much chance involved.

  • Thank you! That helped so much!! For those it did not help-the box you have to uncheck has simply moved to the top of the page and says visual editor not, rather than visual rich...

  • This was so eeeeeze thanks.........

  • Thank you. That was easy (now that you've shown me how)

  • I love guys like you. I keep forgetting to check all these great learning videos here on You Tube. I just started building my first real blog and I am 'real green' so I appreciate your sharing.

    Thanks much.

  • thanks so much - I was stuck and that was a quick fix. I swtiched to "HTML" tab at the top of my editor and that was the fix.

  • Thanks for this post. Wordpress changed the user profile page and I could not find the field you mentioned. However, I simply followed your instructions and used copy and paste to include the embed code. Voila, it worked. You rock!

  • gee this is just a great video. have spent more than 2 days trying to do just this and you have really helped. have left u a one more like. this is uma nair the ultimate mlm junkie from sydney signing off. cheers and keep up the good work

  • Thanks so much, it is so easy after you disable the rich text editor. Fantastic!

  • You are Awesome, thank you for making my blog 5 times better.

  • Your fabulous thanks for showing me this, it has been driving me crazy all morning trying to get a video on my blog, two seconds after watching your video, hey presto I'm good to go! thanks again, Sally :)

  • This video is out of date because wordpress has updated their interface. The thing says "Disable the visual editor when writing." which is the opposite of the "Use visual editor when writing" check box. So, you want the box CHECKED to allow you to embed the html code in your html text field.

  • Good video, very handy feature. Great strategy for using Wordpress for both advertising and building a site. • thnx dude!!

  • Thanks Jack... very helpful

  • did not help me as wordpress has changed... :/

  • its easy if you see..

just go to your user profile and it s on the 1st option.

  • @djNymph

I'm sure someone has helped you with this by now since your post is a month old, but I'll ask anyway since this method worked fine for me. Are you in the visual or html mode in the post editor when trying to add video to your WP page. I thought it wasn't working either until I had an "aha!" moment and noticed I was in the visual editor. Hope that helped a bit.

  • @djNymph I have a new version and it worked for me by just chosing the html tab on the upper right. Leave it on that tab when you publish. It worked great - after years of not understanding or being able to have video on my blog.

  • @djNymph The checkbox is still in the Users section under Personal Settings, second checkbox down.

  • @djNymph It works as Jack outlines. I have WP V3. Go to Your Profile and the very first item is a tick box to toggle visual editing. Works perfectly.

  • Thank you so much! It worked!

  • thanks!

  • From youTube, under URL you have Embed: Copy that code. ;)

  • Dude, you have a fucked up voice! Ugly... Drink some warm milk before recording your grindy voice. Just copy-paste your html code in your post and that's it.

    Cheers....

  • lol this is the video on the other video how funny can this be

  • Thanks!! just managed to do it!

  • hey I'm trying to embed playlists on wordpress and I'm having no luck, any advice? I tried turning off the visual editor and using the embed code from YT, but it doesn't work?

  • Thank you! I finally got it right!

  • THANK YOU!!

My editor is a bit different than yours went to: Users - Your profile - Visual Editor - Disable the visual editor when writing

After trying to figure this out for three weeks you made it so easy!

  • THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Hello, I followed your advice but it still doesn't work.I am using the last verion of Wordpress, maybe that is why?

  • it worked for me...thanks!

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

  • Doesn't seem to work anymore on the latest wordpress. I have tried inserting the embed code every which way and nothing ever shows up.

  • use the EMBED code from this site, post it in the HTML box not the VISUAL box

  • thanks! It worked for me.

  • You rock! Thanks for this tip!

  • Still works man! but it's a bit different now.

  • thanks bud that worked

  • This doesn't work anymore, at least.

  • Thanks, that's great

Jesus Christ rules, he will kick ass in this world through me :D lol in a good way hahaha

  • You rock! Thank you!

  • Thanks for the important tip. I was having a problem embedding a video in wordpress. Couldn't imagine why. I did a search on google for how to embed video in wordpress... which led me to your video. Thanks again for the tip.

  • Anything that is not written well may transpire a wrong impression in the minds of the readers. As a result people would misunderstand you; they may think you to be a fool and all. The solution to such problem is buying custom written articles for posts in your blog.

  • THANKS!

  • Thanks so much for this tip! It really helped me out.

  • Just what I was looking for. Thanks!!!
