  • I made most of that aeroplane but i haven't put any electronics. It is strong and easy to build.

  • what throw do you have in the vid cuz mine is max at the one on the plans but i have dual rates will i be ok ?

  • @RcTranMD In this vid they were at the higher throw rate.

  • @MikeysRC can i get away with an 8x3.8 prop on this?

  • that horror that engine is superior to 46 glow

for a plane so small is not justified

  • Can I just use regular styro?

  • @MrJohngalang17 Yes you can put l;anding gear on. I'm not sure what you mean by regular styor. Scratch building RC planes you can use many different types of material. I prefer to use foamboard from the Dollar Tree stores.

  • @MikeysRC Regular Styro foam

  • @MikeysRC The regular styros that you buy at a bookstore

  • Finally had the maiden flight about 20 minutes ago. It is a really fun plane to fly. I think mine was a little tail heavy because even a slight amount of up elev and it was straight up, and slight down ended up straight down. But I set my elev DR to about 30% and it flew much better. Unfortunately I broke the prop when I landed in the grass, but I bought several so it's no big deal. Thanks to Mikey and Will.

  • @SuperT661 Cool dude! Glad to hear you had a successfull flight. It just keeps getting more and more fun.

  • Yuo could install a landing gear on that plane. That way you could make smoother landings.

  • @spinosaurus242 Yes you can.

  • @MikeysRC Thanks for all of the great plans! I`m very new, this is my first plane and I was wondering what you would reccomend, Electronics wise, for this plane, and a total estimate of the cost. Thanks!

  • @Xoplexable Once you download the free plans it has "shopping list" of all the parts you need for the plane (minus of course the receiver and transmitter....that's up to you as to what to buy. Go to hobbypartz dot com and look for the required parts to find out how much it will cost as prices vary but it's gona be around $60

  • What's the duration of the battery? Looks like he has rudder on this plane? How much is the radio servos and motor for this plane? In other words, how much will it cost to build? Just want to say THANK YOU to Mikey for doing such a great job sharing all that building info!!!

  • Mikey I am a big fan but I am really new to this and I am building this plane at this time. I have a question though; I want to see fpv while flying it. I dont know whats it called but how do I setup a camera to send me live vid from the camera? and how much would that cost me.

  • @FameswProductions Well I'm currently working on a complete FPV system for people to buy. My biggest question is how much are you willing to pay? Doing FPV is not just a matter of the camera....you also need a video transmitter, receiver, receiver antenna, and a device to view the video on the ground...either a portable video screen or a pair of video goggles. Any idea what your budget is for all this stuff?

  • @MikeysRC oooh well about $100 but I figuered I could view the video to the ground threw my laptop somehow. Would that work?

You see I like your project and i am only 16 :)

  • @FameswProductions ....hmmm ...$100 isn't quite enough for a complete system. A system that's $100 will either have bad reception or won't transmit very far...or both. THe system I use costs about $350.

  • @MikeysRC Hmm well since your familier with it and without it, is it still fun without it?

  • @FameswProductions O heck yeah. I still have lot's of fun flying RC with out FPV. And if you want all the electronics hand picked by me for the Spot Trainer go to me website and click on the "OPEN" sign at the top...it will take you to my store page where you can buy the kit. IT includes the motor, esc, battery, servos, pushrods, motor mount, control horns, props and prop adapter.

  • @MikeysRC Ooohoooo but I can still have a camera recording so i can check the video out on my computer after i am done flying. Am i right?

  • @FameswProductions O yeah...totally. Search ebay for "md-80 camera" or keychain camera" and you should be able to find a smal camera to stick on the plane for under $100.

  • @MikeysRC i bought ct6b transmitter and is very good and it goes very far

Just wanted to see if this is going to work for the plane?

    Thanks for the great PDF

just wondering if this will do the Job?

    Thanks for the great PDF

  • @MikeysRc Buddy I am really thankful to you for giving these plans and tutorials for free and motivating youngsters like me to enter the world of RC planes. Thank you.. :-) well I had two queries to make....well I am using Depron 5mm thick...is it fine?.....and also can it perform all types of acrobatics.......actually i wanted to participate in a competition where i need to show all aerobatics and also drop a load from 6 m....so wat suggestions you have? :-)

  • @wetstreets I already answered your question on the other video that you left the same comment on.

  • @RcWorld7 WOW $10......that is insulting.

  • hi Mikey, i am a big fan of your work:) but i just wondered how much all the elektronics cost?

  • @willy100100100 Not including the transmitter and receiver....probably about $65

  • ok. figured out the building material from the 1st video :) does it have another name? here in europe they don't use that name for it I think.

BTW - you are a great RC pilot (as seen in this in flight video) Congrats!

  • Not sure what to say. Sounds like you are using the with stuff. Only thing you left out was what prop you are using.

  • awsome plane!

  • see

  • Whats the thickbess if the foam board and whats the size ie A4

  • about 3/16th inch thick. Not sure about the A4 question.

  • Mickey whats the thickness of the foam baord needed and whats the size i mean by. I.E A4 please reply as quickly as posible

  • Mikey dude thx please can u help me were did u buy your servos and radio what make

  • I sell the radios and servos.

  • Can some one help me where do u buy foam core or foam board in the UK i only need one sheet 40x17

  • Someone asked me this a while ago. If you do a google search for foam board UK you should find at least 1 or 2 big companies that will sell it to you.

  • nice simple air plane....

  • I just finished building this plane, very easy to build....thanks Mikey!

Can't wait to fly it! I've never flown before other than a sim so it should be an interesting flight. :)

  • COOL! Let us know how it flies. If you make a video I'll embed it on my website.

  • You movies and models are very good.

I got some good ideas from you.

    Thanks !!!

  • Hey, thanks for checking out my videos. Glad you liked them.

  • How it is possible for a flap plate wing to produce lift even at very low angle of attack, is it partly because of the barbecue stick acting like a conventional airfoil shape?

  • I'm not exactly sure how it creates lift so well. I do try to cut the leading edge and trailing at and angle and yeas I think the BBQ skewer helps a little too.

  • Yes you can. I'll try to make an addition to the PDF plans in case anyone else wants to ad a rudder. I should have the plans done by the end of the next week.

  • this much easier to build compared to my simplestick. great design. can put extra servo easily for complete 4ch plane. 5*
