  • crybaby- prove otherwise....

  • Thank you for posting these videos. They were well researched and very interesting. Keep up the good work!

  • how do u know that the congress did not print this bible? were you there? do you have proof? because David Barton has the bible to prove it. Now tell me, and from where are you reading, because I can tell you are reading. You dont even have your own knowledge and your own convictions. You are reading from somewhere. This is embarassing how a person as old as you look dosent even know their own history!!!

  • @spanishgrl1230 Barton even admitted this in an interview with John Stewart. I checked both sources and found Ms Rodda's to be meticulous.

  • @spanishgrl1230

THE AITKEN BIBLE) The Holy Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments Newly translated out of the Original Tongues. Philadelphia: Printed and Sold by R. Aitken, at Port’s Head, Three Doors above the Coffe House, in Market Street 1782.

Congress didn't print it, he petitioned Congress to approve its accuracy.

  • "Wall of eternal separation."

    Yes, such a confusing phrase.

  • An excellent series, Ms. Rodda. Very educational and on point. Thank you for your extensive research. Cannot wait to read your book, which I guess is only available through Amazon.

Keep speaking the truth. And by the way, I am a Christian. But I cannot stand the right wing extremists and their lies.

  • What a whack job...Nothing but lefty revisionist propaganda.

  • still no reply, rodda!

  • the “so help me God” phrase has traditionally been added at the end of the required oath, starting with George Washington in 1789.

  • @artsygala actually it was not Article II section 1 that allows you to opt out of saying So help me God, it was the Judiciary Act of 1789 which makes it mandatory to say it unless you opt out of doing the inagurational swearing and being affirmed or being allowed to say a different like a prayer. A few presidents have added their own praypers instead saying so help me God

  • @fingerp5.

You must be trolling me. No-one can be that hateful and ignorant and say the things you have posted and truly mean them.

    Have a good life.

  • @artsygala uh, no. you have it backwards. We are both working against you, however. We have a great life because God allowed us to and has incorporated himself into our constitution. We follow the law because so. Hateful and ignorant how? You mean like all races except for white conservatives who get away with their "hate?" Another double standard.

  • @banditandbruiser

Wrong. Read Article II, section 1 of the Constitution. The presidential oath of office is as follows:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

No swearing to god required. Again, I suggest you study a bit more about your country's history and legal system.

  • @artsygala NO. You forget to mention the last part. They always have to say So help me God.

  • @banditandbruiser,

Sorry, but I had no problem opting out of swearing to any god both for jury duty and when I became a naturalized citizen. Forcing someone to swear to any god is un-Constitutional by violating the Establishment Clause.

I don't doubt that there are places in the US where anyone trying to opt out of swearing to Yahweh are told they can't, but that is ignorance of the law, not to mention possibly inviting a law suit.

Again, I suggest you study a little bit more

  • @artsygala Really that is quite interesting what state do you live in then? I am very well aware of the establishment Clause thank you very much,The only people that seem to have ab issue with saying the So help me God are liberals.I have studied the Consitution quite a lot actually as it is mandated to learn in Schools. In the state of CA which is the most liberal out of the majority of the states you cannot opt out of saying it and I have not heard of ONE lawsuit

  • @artsygala That's because you are a liberal Jew who doesn't really care about Isreal. When you don't swear to God you basically undermind our entire constitutional laws. Since Yahweh doesn't have anything to do with our Constitution, than yes, that would be un-constitutional. Swearing on the bible and saying "So help me God" is very constitutional. Our forefathers never would have imagined having an Establishment Clause. I don't believe in seperation of church and state. Liberals do.

  • Actually, anyone can opt out of saying "So help me God" by requesting to be affirmed, in court, at naturalization ceremonies and, yes, even presidential inaugurations. Nor does one have to swear on the Bible. It is not required by law, which some of these "Christian Nation" pushers might want to become more educated about.

  • @artsygala No you cant, Ive been to all types of Ceremonies and people have tried to opt out and its not allowed.

  • @artsygala No that is not true. Every President HAS TO BY LAW say So help me God. Proven Fact.

  • @artsygala U live in a Christian nation whether you like it or not.

  • @artsygala and for the record you can thank George Washington for ADDING the "SO HELP ME GOD" for his Inaguration. Later THE PEOPLE VOTED TO KEEP THAT IN AND TO ALSO ADD IT TO THE COURTS AND CONGRESS

  • @artsygala I will fight liberals like you until the day I die. This is truly the only thing that matters when it comes down to it. The day a liberal changes my beliefs so they are twisted and conforms to their politically correct ways of living is the day I am done. Until then I will fight you every single day of my natural born life on this subject. You are wrong. We are right because we talk from fact while you talk from a made up agenda wanting to distort the facts.

  • @fingerp5 Your fighting with liberals is not working very well here. You sound crazy.

  • @fingerp5 Your fighting with liberals is not working very well here. You sound crazy and racist to boot just like your fellow Christian rightwingers.

  • @artsygala So where is your next arguement so we can contradict that too?

  • @artsygala The fact that you won't message me to my email, but rather just post openly so other liberals agree with you is cowardly. You most likely did that so you would get your point across without me seeing it so you could hopefully get other lbs. to agree with you. Haha you are done.

  • @fingerp5

I suggest you put down your Bible and actually read the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Amendments and circle everywhere you see the mention of God or Jesus in the BODY of the text. It shouldn't take very long.

  • @artsygala Then we should get rid of the oaths everyone takes when in court. "do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth SO HELP ME GOD"?

  • @artsygala I suggest you put down your communist manifesto and realize that our Constitutional Laws come from the bible. Our laws that our law enforcement enforces comes from the constitution and the bible. This is a Christian Nation on paper whether you like it or not. It is a white man's country whether you like it or not. I do not appologize for that.

  • @artsygala In god we trust. So help me God. Why does our currency say in god we trust? Because it is backed by faith. Our Christian faith. Why do judges and politicians swear with their right hand on the bible and say so help me god? Where do you think that comes from? It is all related to our Constitution and laws which comes from the bible.

  • Thanks Chris Rodda !

  • @fingerp5

This topic isn't about being liberal or conservative. It is about presenting US history as factually as possible without pushing a religious agenda.

Barton's claims and quotes have been debunked many times by legitimately credentialled US historians and had to remove many of his claims from his "Wallbuilders" website.

No matter how hard Christian revisionists wheedle and twist the Framers' quotes, the Constitution remains a liberal, secular, god-less, Jesus-less document.

  • @artsygala The constitution is not liberal, it's NOT secular, and Yes, it does in fact include God. Our constitutional laws come from the bible. Therefore it is a Christian Conservative document. Whatever the liberal politically correct left twists the real reality about the constitution is due to the fact that they don't agree with White Western religions. The only reason Christians would revise it is because of the liberal left who has twisted it. Just like everything else in society.

  • @artsygala and yes it is. This is very much so Conservative vs. Liberal when you say these twisted atheist comments regarding our Constitution.

  • @artsygala The religious conservative can't possibly have an agenda. Again, you are twisting the reality of the Liberals having the agenda to form a politically correct history and wipe out the true fact that Christianity and the Constitution do in fact go together.

  • I went to school in the 80s in liberal southern california. Claremont than U.C. Santa Barbara. Every time a politically incorrect historian brings up the truth( the way I remember it being taught) it is quickly bashed by some left wing wacko. Public School was NEVER as bad as it is now. Put God back in Public School like I remember it and you will see a difference in performance, morals and ethical behavior. Fire all liberal politically correct teachers and hire all conservative Teachers.

  • she is wrong on everything.

  • Liberals try to debunk everything they don't agree with.

  • no answere?

  • still no answar?

  • still no answer?

  • y no answer>?>.

  • u zo smart. u have debate with barten or won of his asociets? eye kan skeduel it 4 u. or r u just hot aier?

  • rodda is an idiot.

  • Thanks for posting. My extremely devout mormon father just sent me a link to a Barton video. Yikes. It seemed obvious that what Barton was spouting was more about theatre than truth but I was unsure of where to point my father to hear some of the actual facts. I am going to send a link to your videos. Thank you for doing all of the work you have done on this. You are a truth warrior!

  • @Glorybound1962 Yes I agree.

  • Part 9 ???? Are you kidding me? Go away lady.

  • That's because he is 10 times smarter than her. She is a waste of human skin.

  • Even if I never heard or read a word that either of them said, I would automatically trust her and distrust him. Barton is a fast talker, full of cheap little comments and factoids and has a look of a con man crossed with a fanatic about him, Chris has a sober, thoughtful honest way of presenting herself which is 180 degrees from him. But theocons don't care about any of that, just say Jesus this or that and they come like a dog

  • Even Barton's crummy org's name, Wallbuilders, connotes a sneaky, secretive, and narrowminded group.

  • Wow. Read the letters for yourself, people. I just did. Barton's take on the subject is dead on. I dare you to read the whole letters for yourself instead of sleeping easy thinking she has "debunked" Barton.

  • @lknbrwn:

    For example?

  • @NuisanceMan what do you mean for example? My comment was to read the letters they are talking about for yourself..

  • @lknbrwn I wish they did regulate the Baptists, the most backwards, reactionary slave holding, fire and brimstone calling bumpkins

  • Because I am a Christian I cannot go along with Barton. Being a Christian and knowing the Bible message I know that Barton is dangerous to Christianity, he is actually an enemy of the gospel.

  • This reminds me of HowTheWorldWorks debunking of "the Story of Stuff."

  • Sadly enough, even if the sheep saw this series of videos debunking Barton, many would still choose not to believe in the evidence. I would like to see the estates or foundations guarding the integrity of America's founding fathers begin a concerted effort to litigate against Barton to correct his many lies. I wonder where he gets his money? As with the Fred Phelps' cult, inquiring minds would be interested in the names of the people bankrolling these dangerous nutjobs.

  • This woman is great. Completely pulverized this Barton Fink character. Keep it coming Chris!

  • A man with an expereince is not at the mercy of a man with an argument. With that being said, how can anyone possibly find truth in anything man has to say proclaimed christian or not. The only source to truth you will only know when you have had an encounter with God. If you have not had that encounter then you have no choice but to rely on man. Good Luck finding the truth, its not out there. Everey message is desiged to keep you from the truth. Trust no one, find God for yourself.

    Larry

  • You're worse at history than Barton. Christmas was despised at the US's founding because Americans viewed it as a British holiday. Of course you probably pervert your mind in celebrating a pagan, Germanic holiday. Being such a whinny little faith head, you couldn't even bother to offer one refutation of Rodda's critique from any of the 9 videos.

  • Christmas was only made a federal holiday in 1870. A hundred years in is hardly "since America's beginning".

And, of course, Christmas was banned by the pilgrims as well. Even today, all the trappings of its celebration (decorated trees, gift-giving, the date, etc.) are just pulled from various pagan religions. We simply add "and Jesus was born today" despite the fact that it isn't even the right season.

It's like celebrating the 4th of July... in October by waving Union Jacks.

  • Merry Christmas...

  • Unlike yourself and others with an authoritarian view of mankind, most people have a mature outlook on life. This means that we deal with facts and evidence *as they are* and not as we would prefer them to be....which in the case of Barton's Fools is one that places Paul's revisionist history of Jesus's life and beliefs ahead of what Jesus almost surely did believe and say.

  • Could you repeat your statement in a coherent manner that makes a complete thought?

  • No. Your lack of an education isn't my problem. Let me guess.... Are you the product of Christian right homeschooling?

  • @Craighill9 If you look up their web site liarsforjesus the have ye foot notes and photo copies of documents cited. your opening sentience was and Ad hominem fallacy btw.

  • @AlbionFan57 I wentto the website. I didn't see much for photo copies of original documents. I did see more of the same hyperbole as in these videos though. Typical. BTW these videos are very unprofessional whereas Barton's videos are clear and concise and show a great deal of professionalism.

  • ...and of course the best video is always true...

  • LMAO

  • I am impressed with your research, Ms. Rodda. Being a follower of Jesus myself - it makes me sad that this man seems to be spreading an untrue message - and dragging the name of Christ down in the process. As Christians, our call is to love sacrificially - not clamor for power or twist the truth. Ever read Greg Boyd's book 'The Myth of a Christian Nation'? I hope you will read it and see that not all Christians are like David Barton. Blessings

  • I have just enjoyed a 9-course meal consisting of my favorite cuisine: facts. Thank you, Chris. I discovered you on the Reasonable Doubts podcast and look forward to hearing more from you.

  • Great stuff, Chris!!! More please!

  • Well researched and put together. You have my utmost admiration. Thank you for putting material like this together and posting it to the public.

  • I think that you have done a wonderful job with research! Go Chris!!! Totally unpretentious -- you are exactly what you are!!!

    Love you.

  • Bravo, Chris! An excellent series. I am going to purchase your book! best regards,

    Gingerbaker

  • Continuation of a previous comment: I'd like to see our society advance its culture to the point where we publicly ostracize those like Barton who are caught presenting a pattern of lies meant to pollute our public waters for their financial and political benefit.

  • Regarding your comment about the unanticipated length of this video series and that you were able to touch on only a few of the lies Barton spreads in this series:

One of my primary frustrations with liars like Barton is that it takes a lot more energy, research and writing to rebut lies like those Barton spreads than it does to create and spread those lies.

  • Excellent. I hope to see More, but I'll have to read your book too. Thanks! :)

  • Excellent research, Ms. Rodda. Your debunking Barton should be mandatory viewing in high school and college journalism classes AND our halls of Congress!!!

  • @artsygala No. What should be mandatory is God back in public school and Politically Correct liberals pushing their socialist agenda out. Liberalism fails because Conservatives push their dignity aside and keep their mouth shut for four years to finish their degree in a liberal college then come out just as Conservative as before. Heaven for bid if you say one thing that doesn't align itself with liberalism, you get ostracized. Put God back in Public Education and u will see a positive start

  • @fingerp5 Haha yeah I'm sure they all keep their mouth shut like I did when my elementary school teacher actually told me that the fossil THAT I HAD FOUND MYSELF was fake. The problem with most conservative christian people is the 3 monkey syndrome. They won't see, hear, or speak anything contrary to their book no matter what the evidence. Religious people tend to be the most hypocritical in my experience. Go watch the first video where Barton embellishes the conversation he had with Rodda.

  • @N0XI0USB4C so apparently Rodda is a senior research assistant for a group that supports freedom from Religion in the Military? Yeah, that makes sense. If our individuals fighting in our Military went in knowing they aren't fighting with their Christian or Catholic believes, for their country and everybody's rights, then what exactly are they fighting for? Again, another liberal teacher proving that the left is the contradiction. I suppose you are against white western religions.

  • @N0XI0USB4C> Get it right. It was the liberal left's propaganda that twisted the true history of everything into a politically correct version.

  • @N0XI0USB4C I thought Obama was part of the three monkey sydrome. Baboon, orangutan and gorilla. Why would conservative children need to listen to anything that contradicts their bible when it really comes down to it? They are only contradictory to you because they don't fit in to your image of what makes a politically correct liberal. The liberal agenda that is forced down their throat by the time they reach highschool and college.

  • @N0XI0USB4C therefore all science classes should be secondary to their primary religious outlook and beliefs. Since you are the one who is trying to twist their perspective because you don't agree with them, maybe you should look in the mirror during recess while the conservative kids are beating the liberal kids at kickball. This is a christian nation, white man's constitution, wheather you like it or not. Therefore our Military should only support Christian/Catholic religious views.

  • @fingerp5 WOW......I've seen some idiotic comments in my day but this one is up there!!!!

Are you a white supremacist or something? What the hell does conservative kids beating "liberal" kids in kickball have to do with ANYTHING??? Twist who's perspective??? I FOUND THE FOSSIL MYSELF. IT WAS NOT FAKE...so who was doing the twisting exactly???

Also, it's "whether" not wheather. Those red lines under the word are telling you something ;)

You my friend are a liberal...to the average Muslim

  • @N0XI0USB4C Haha. You are a contradiction. Typical liberal you are. First you question if I am a white supremacist? Absolutly not, in your sense of the word. Am I proud of my white heritage? Of course I am. Than you call ME a liberal? WOW. Funny thing is, my mexican wife who speaks perfect english was taught the exact same history I was taught before the liberalism agenda started to take over. Are you one of those Politically Correct Institutional Racist that believes in Affirmative Action?

  • @N0XI0USB4C you have your political ideologies confused as well. On the political spectrum it goes to the left as such: Moderate, Democrat, Liberal,Socialist, Communist, Fascist, Totalitarinist. I don't see how I could be a white supremist or a hitler mentality when Hitler actually comes from the left not the right. Don't agree with me or my values? Then that means you don't believe in my Mexican wife's values and beliefs either. That would make you the racist for not agreeing with a minority

  • @N0XI0USB4C It's funny how the liberal left is consistantly stuck with double standards. They are the ones who say whites have to be open minded to everything but the minute I am married to a mexican who agrees with my beliefs, that makes the liberal just as racist. Liberals hate that. How dare someone call them the racist, right? After all, the liberal leftests were the ones who twisted the reality of the political ideologies so Hitler was viewed as a rightest and not a leftest.

  • @N0XI0USB4C Considering that I scored two I.Q. tests of 131 and 138, I believe I have more creditiblity than most. Funny thing is, any conservative who has a brain is considered delusional and insane. While a liberal is considered intelligent with an I.Q of 115 or so. Nice Double Standard. That only proves that the liberal left loves to lower the standards. This goes hand in hand with affirmative action. U know how liberals say blacks are not smart enough, so lets the lower the standards, right?

  • @fingerp5 Yeah and my penis is a foot long and I'm wealthy...who cares?

There is a difference between wisdom and intelligence ;) While the two are generally related it is very possible to become wise while being less intelligent ie lots of school ;) There is a positive correlation between BOTH education level and intelligence and what you consider "liberal". But, a VERY STRONG negative one exists with religiosity. Why don't we just adjust the tests to help Christians? Simple.

  • @N0XI0USB4C NO. It is proving more and more that there is a NEGATIVE correlation on society with liberalism. Strong Christian, Catholic, Conservative oriented traditional values are always the POSITIVE. Why do you think our public schools have become negative ever since the liberals wanted God out of public school?

It's liberalism that corrupts society not conservativism. Liberalism is closer to Communism Not us. Again. Its Mod, Dem, Lib, Socialist, Communist, Fascist, Totalitarinism.

  • @fingerp5 Research has shown that the average atheist knows more about Christianity than the average Christian. If you're alluding to the police entrance exams in Dayton that happened in 2008 that are just now getting brought up....then yeah lowering entrance exam standards isn't a great idea. They should have just added a physical requirement to it that WOULD be useful in running down criminals like the ability to dunk a basketball or run a 4.4 40. That way neither would be able to pass.

  • @N0XI0USB4C whatever research you are referring to is part of the liberal indoctrinated leftest agenda. Atheists can't possibly know Christianity more. They don't believe in it. Pretty simple. Police Departments already do require physical requirements. It is specifically geard towards running criminals down, which they should practice more of. What planet do you live on? Neither would be able to pass? So you do believe in Anarchy with no Law enforcement? Anarchy is left after totalitarian

  • @fingerp5 I do agree however that lowering exam standards is not the solution in that case. The solution would have been to remove the requirement of having already completed training certification like EMT which, used to be done after hiring.

But, the case against Dayton Ohio was filed in September 2008 under Bush's administration. Why it's just now getting publicity and being used as anti Obama fodder I have not a clue.

  • @N0XI0USB4C also, you seem to be confusing Muslims with being closer to the right then the left? WOW. Since Muslims actually condoned Hitler for exterminating the jews, I would say Muslims are closer to the left as well. After all, it's the liberals in America who support their Sharia Law. They couldn't be further away from a conservative if they tried.

  • @fingerp5 Muslim's ARE closer to the "right" than the left!!!!!!!!!! Muslim's hate Jews....do you not know anything about what's going on in Israel??? You can find government leaders of islamic countries OPENLY condemning Jews.

NO. The "left" supports the ability to practice whatever religion you choose freely. FREEDOM. And you're sitting here mentioning that after YOU want to pump your god into government. Are you really that clueless and deluded?

  • @N0XI0USB4C Once again you contradict yourself. It goes starting at moderate to the left: Democrat,Liberal,Socialist,Communist,Fascist,Totalitarian. So where do you see Muslims being closer to the right? The Right is on the other side. Get it? Muslims are closer to Hitler because Hitler was a Fascist. Muslims supported Hitler for killing Jews. You have again contradicted yourself. Iseral is America's Allie. Muslims want to take over Iseral. You are that clueless.

  • @N0XI0USB4C Conservative Christians support Freedom. Liberals don't. Period. Are you that deep into the Politically Correct leftest agenda? We only state the facts regarding our Constitution while the liberals twist and distort it. Just like everything in society. Small goverment, Big Freedom. Easy. It's YOU who want to pump your twisted delusional liberalism into society. God is more powerful than Government. God is the ultimate Check and balance when it comes to Capitalism ande the economy.

  • @N0XI0USB4C , Wow, I have been taught by Liberal Teachers before and you really have your facts wrong. Let me ask you this IF Muslims were closer to the right, then Why on earth would we Defend Israel? Also, the muslim religion has never been accepted by any other religion. Look it up. I am not talking about just Christian, Mormon, Catholics, Jewish but Buddists, Hindu's, Baptist, presbyterian ect..All of these religions are against the Muslims.

  • @N0XI0USB4C it doesn't matter if it was under Bush or Obama. It's still affirmative action which I don't believe in. It's an insult to blacks by saying you are not smart enough so we will lower the standards for you. It's basically what Obama stands for. Mediocrity, lowered expectations, third world standards. You must agree with that, right?

  • Great job Ms. Rodda. I've done research on judicial opinions cited by Barton who maliciously distorts, and outright lies about the facts or the holdings made by thoughtfuly and meticulously researched by judges who Barton wants to malign as godless activist stooges. One egregious example is Commonwealth of Penn. v. Karl S. Chambers. I have many. Barton's lies do not bear up under even the slightest scrutiny.
