Im an aberdeen local and have met the street pastors once on my "travels" lets say lol Couple of them was from America and I have to say they were the most nicest people ever! What they do makes all the difference in the world! It helps me feel a bit safer knowing their out down the town. All the best to street pastors and I hope our lives cross paths again x
I had too much to drink and broke my ankle badly in several places over 2 weeks ago on union street, aberdeen and was helped by 2 of the Street Pastors who were fantastic and these people deserve the highest praise & recognition for giving up their time and effort for the purest of reasons-to help others who require assistance & comfort
I have seen these pastors on several occasions (I live on Union Street) and appreciate the work they are doing. I always feel safer when they're around. Thanks!
Religion is out of date. It's 2009. Realise that there ain't a magical man in the sky looking down on you. Six billion people in the World and he's watching YOU? Look at the news. Religion has brought us nothing but war and hatred.
I'm afraid it's not religion that has brought war to this world, but simply mankind. Jesus himself, the real man who existed 2000 years ago, commented that there would be wars and hatred in this world. To simply watch human beings, see how we engage with each other, to watch the flowers grow and to see new life being born must mean that there is something far greater than us in the world.
There are many reasons for war & It would be unfair to blame religion on its own, but it has certainly played its fair share in many wars & disputes. Thats the thing about religion, it can motivate people into bad deeds as well as good deeds. For me personally there is so little evidence to support religious claims that it is impossible to take seriously. As for the religious folks in this video...good on ya. Harmless help so far as I can see.

Your fears are unfounded just because people are drunk doesn't mean they will permanently loose their senses & join a church because someone is nice to them. The 'proof of the pudding is in the eating' if there isn't anything worthwhile in Christianity people won't go along with it in the long run.

i think the police should bring out a non religious street pastor. hell i would set up a group just to get these religious nuts off the streets.

and planting the seeds of religion in there minds when in this state is like a technique a cult would use. get people when they are vulnerable and make them think in a different way. before you know it there in church and giving donations

street Pastors is an alright idea you know to help people who are drunk. What is wrong with them is that they are religious, they say they don't impose there views on anyone this is simply not true.

I live i Aberdeen, and I've heard of street pastors, though I haven't seen them. they have come to our church though.
