when i rode this the restraints hurt soooo bad!! i couldnt feel my legs, and at the beginning when they first closed i panicked a little cause i was like dammmmmn, these are tight! i was like 7ish at the time....
@CoasterRyder88 They shure do. It's been there now for many years now. They did a major refurbishment last year so it's likelay to be here for some time to come. It's one of the few Looping Star rides that are still around.
Nice vid! I live in Orlando, and the ride has been there for 20 years + as you noted. At one point, this was THE ride at Busch Gardens, and in my opinion, it's the most unique ride in the park. I LOVE IT! Sure, the restraints come down, but the ride instructors announce that to all riders. Then they losen up after a few seconds. The blood rush you get in your head and the immense pressure are just unreal, not to mention this ride is REALLLLLLLY tall and much more intense than it looks!
lol a balloon pops at around 2:18.I remember my dad brought me on one of these when I was 4.You can imagine how this could scare the **** out of a 4 year old.
I was riding it some time ago and I can remember there were two kids that couldn't have been any older than six sitting in the same row. Well the ride opp said there will be a slight squeeze on the restraints as they lock them in. Well the squeeze was so strong that one of those two kids got sick and had to leave before he had a "protien spill" on the ride. This ride does give quite a squeeze when locking the restraints in (LOL).
They named it well, because as we all know the phoenix is the mythical bird that rises from the ashes and proceeds to swing back and forth until everyone vomits.

@TheThundercoaster It's really not that bad if you can bear the initial squeeze when the restraints lock in.

This is an Intamin Looping Starship :)
Huss make the non looping ships. Both are powered by wheels underneath. Great ride.

I will go on any roller coaster you think of, but I will never again ride a ride like this. It was pure torture.

I agree with you. I especially don't like how the restraints squeeze just before they lock into place.
