@sabasibe Yes, it appears that way. I even thought he traveled in that manner when I watched it live. I then played it back in slow motion in 60 frames-per-second HD and determined, without a doubt, that he gathered AFTER his foot hit the ground, making the "first step" the step he avoided the defender, and the second step to attempt the layup, making the drive perfectly legal. The only questionable thing he did was push off Roy, which he did. =D

You're not starting your count at the right time, when he picks up his dribble his left foot is on the ground already, so it ISN'T step #1. He then takes step #1 with his right foot and step #2 with his left and jumps, pretty simple stuff.

I don't think he does, definitely no more than the Wade, Kobe types, and all the other superstars in the league. No one in the league is watched closer for travels. He got away with a few early in his career in important moments and now the league looks to call him for travels because of it.
It's not a travel, pause at 0:48, he picks up his dribble with his left foot down, steps with the right (1 step), steps with his left and jumps off of it (2 steps). Not a travel, no opinion about it.
