I just came across this video and want to say great work to all involved. I loved how someone kept calling him sweetheart and honey!! I believe whether they know the words or not the tone of voice shows your concern for them and makes them feel more secure than they would otherwise. Great job everyone!!
The goose at my local park has "angel wing". The Rehab center told me they will put her down if I bring her in. The DNR said I cannot get a permit to save her. I feel so bad for her:(.
There is an injured female goose at my local park. I have been feeding her for 2 months now. Her wings have bare feathers that stick out and she cannot fly. With winter coming I am really worried about her. I have a friend that will take care of her for the winter, or longer if needed. Do you have any tips on how I can catch her the best way. It is a shame that I cannot find info on the net. Every topic I try comes back either diseases a human can get by geese, or hunting them:(!
I need help! If you do this all the time you can help me on how to save a local goose at my park. The poor female has bad wings. Her boyfriend disappeared 3 weeks ago. He had one bad wing. It is like bald main wing feathers bare sticking straight out. I need pointers on how to catch her. I have a very, caring friend that will take her. We are not stupid people, so please don't say we should call the DNR. I just want the best for my Lucy, Goosy.
I also saved a Canada Goose drowning and unable to climb out of a lake which had a full plastic carrier bag hanging from its neck. Had to get wet to do it but I eventually managed to hook the bag instead of the bird (easier) with a walking stick I borrowed.

Because of his wing injury, He ended up staying at a permanent bird sanctuary where he has been living a great life. He's fat and happy.
