This musical is amazing! Too bad it's been so overlooked because of the ALW version (which has me in its grasp because of 'Point of No Return'). This version gives Christine so much more strength, gives Erik a more detailed background, and gives Carlotta this WONDERFUL SONG! :)
Wow, I actually like this song. o_o Sure it ain't "angelic" but there's attitude in it, and I like that. Her high notes are actually pleasant and the song overall is pretty catchy too.
I was in this musical (a chorus member) at Theatre Winter Haven in 1995. We did 20 performances and everytime this number was done, I snuck around to the back of the theatre so I could watch our Carlotta do this one. She was wonderful and the lighting that supported her singing was glorious.
Hrm, this song isnt on my soundtrack...rather a disappointment >> I really like this. Carlotta amuses me and this is definitely a good audition song if it can be pulled off properly ^^ Thanks for it ^^
