Severely beating a woman is not a mistake, it's abuse and dangerous anger, which shouldn't be considered inevitable and excusable. He DID smash her face against the window, in addition to punching her repeatedly, biting her, putting her in a headlock, and pressuring her arteries in a way that disallowed her from breathing. He tried to kill her; that isn't a "mistake".

If the awards committee, or whoever votes on the awards, think the music is good, then that's WHY he's getting the award, it's NOT a high five for hitting someone. I want to thank you guys for pointing out that "Chris Brown beats women". I'm blown away that nobody cares. One of the problems is that a lot of women blame Rihanna for what happened, because if she was purely a victim, than the culturally typical myth of the strong(invincible) black woman is shattered. Forcing a ton of girls to face the harsh reality that they are vulnerable, not in control, and in dangerous environments.

I don't think we know the whole story. There was a rumor going around that Rihanna gave Chris Brown herpes, which is a life-long disease and which would have also implied that she cheated on him during their relationship. Furthermore, why this is actually plausible is because if it happened, it would be illegal for anyone to disclose this information. All this girl did was read a text message on his phone which was from a previous sexual partner of his. maybe he had even been cheating. that's when he started beating her to a pulp, which, for the record, is illegal and in no way ok, even if she had indeed cheated on him and given him herpes, which wouldn't even have to be related by the way.
