I have a 318i with a 6 cilinder swapped in (M50B25) and i had the same 'problem' like on the this video, replaced it with one of a 320i and voila! Fixxed.. :) Mine went to 10.000RPM or so.. (check my channel or search: 318i 2.5 24v)

depend on what type of engine you get m8, i only drive a 316 but i can get about 700 kilometers out of my 65liter tnk :) a 318 has about the same fuel usage, 2 l uses about 11 to 12 liter/100 km and so on ... xD

you can make m50/m52s do 8000 rpms with not too many mods... just proper cams like 290, solid lifters, stiffer valve springs and some ecu tuning and your motor will be fine... these are pretty tough motors.. but to be honest this vid doesnt sound like 8000 rpm lol

My brothers e36 328i was chipped and had a decent k&n and thats about it..

and it happily redlined at 8k all day long..

best bit was when he got to 6k it went like honda's world famous V-tec, and revved like no tommorow, but also sounded like an old TVR x]

wenn man auf die verbrauchsanzeige schaut sollte ein kluger gesunder mensch schon merken, dass das mit den 8000 umdrehungen nicht stimmen kann. denn so ein 325er verbraucht ab 5000 umdrehungen locker um die 30 liter. außerdem würde es so ein auto nicht durchhalten mit 8000 umdrehungen. höchstens 7100 umdrehung bei so einem motor.
