I sang this song in my 10th, 11th, and 12th grade choir. During my 11th grade year I had the great fortune of being the soloist. This song requires a very sensual, rounded tone to the women's voices. There also needs to be a darkness to it. There is great passion in the piece, but I don't hear that passion in the piece. The voices are nice, but they lack the sensuality. I would also like to hear some levels. Crescendos and decrescendos would be lovely.
The voices are too spread and they have more of a Show Choir sound, I should know because I'm in one. This song calls for a more airy tone and a darker, rounder sound. I hear a lot of "luh" and not enough "la". It ruins the sound when it's done wrong. My choir is doing this piece for a contest this year and it's coming along well.
Very nice! Whoever was singing the solo had very nice tone, but I think she needs to gain more control over her vibrato....other than that, great work :]
