the leafs didnt resign Mats Sundin because they wanted him to win a stanley cup. After serving for the Leafs for 15 years, they decided he deserves to win a cup in his career

That;s not true... they traded him because they had to rebuild the leafs..the leafs were not even close to being a stanley cup team and Mats sundin was getting to the point of his career where he was going to retire soon..so they traded him because it was best for the team and so they could stock up future draft picks and prospects to build new leaf franchise.

I thought it was pretty gay when the leafs didin't re-sign Mats Sundin for one more season they pretty much new that after that he would have prob. retired anyways all they had to do was put up with him for half a season and he would have retired happely with 14 season as a leaf, and make all the fans happy and excited...but no they just couldin't do it could they...
