Wow. It's amazing how people don't know what actually happened. Harmonix created Guitar Heroes 1, 2, & Rock The 80's. They had lost their license to Activision, which then led Harmonix to make Rock Band. One pointer, by the way; unlike Guitar Hero, Rock Band doesn't keep frequently making games that have NOTHING to do with the actual game series.

If you knew your facts, half the Guitar hero team was FIRED after GH 2 and made RB, the remaining made GH 3 and now WT. RB is shit all over, I simply dont understand how anyone could think the mechanics are more enjoyable. Retarded. Anyway there is "copying" involved, but because they had worked on the shit as a team before, both sides are holders of the rights to construct such technology. So, as it is, RB is just a shitty version of what both sides were working on. WT took time to perfect.

Actually Rock Band is a copy of Rock Band. Guitar Hero came out first and then some idiots decided to make a game similiar to Guitar Hero but with square notes.
