I wish the CACV in Milford, NY could get a locomotive like this. The train they have (built by the late Don Sullivan) has a Chevy gas engine running starter motors in each car that overheat quickly and last I knew it was parked until they can get funding to replace them.
Very awesome! Wish I could afford one, let alone a GS-4. Just great! But if you can, and the bug hits you, paint it back to black, an NYC hudson doesnt look right in green. o.O
That thing is AWESOME! I like the wheel slip at the begining too. Sweet engine!

This hudson originally ran in another railroad called "Goleta Valley Railroad" in the 90's.

Ahh... Those miniature NYC Hudsons bring back the good old times, back when the big ones were running. :)

It's gogeous. If I had one of those, I would probably model it after Southern Railroad #4501.
SouthernRR4501 3 years ago
that i would love to see in 15 inch gauge and coal fired

Just curious, how much does a 15" gauge live steam locomotive would cost me from new?
hatakashi1900 4 years ago
alot more than you could afford, way up in the millions.
Engineer5344 3 years ago
more like 50-100k depending on the size.
twofoot65 2 years ago
well i was only guessing i figured the bigger the engine the bigger the cost. but 50 to 100k is not too bad

That's one heck of an engine! Friend of mine has a 15 inch gauge Mogul. It's a blast to handle.
