hey kev, they're opposite because they both indicate turning counterclockwise. they look opposite because the edges by that dial are opposite mirrors of each other, hence why the arrows need to be opposite

What does cooking on a gas stove during a picnic trip have to do with survivalism? Wow, didn't know that propane was going to be available in a SHTF situation. What real prepper needs a propane stove to cook?

@D0cTerG0nZ0 - I would think so. I have seen adapters for coleman stoves so that you can us the bigger bottles.

If I buy one of these stoves, I will get a couple of those adapters.

Or the human that stamped the paint on it used the wrong one because he was on the pub last night =)

@survivalistboards they have designed the knobs to turn in the same directions to adjust the flow..for instance, turn both clockwise and it decreases the flow..well they stuck the knobs on the outside of the stove, so this made it where they couldnt put both symbols to left or to the right of both knobs, which if they would have, both would be facing the same direction..if they had made one knob go clockwise and the other counter for each burner, the symbols would have face the same direction..

@survivalistboards I think it is just a factor of counter-clockwise increases gas flow for both burner knobs, one is just up and the other down because they are on opposite sides of the knob right.

@survivalistboards If you look closely you'll see that the knobs turn in the same direction to turn up or down (for example counter clockwise will turn both burners to high)...

The labels are printed on opposite sides of the knobs which gives the appearance that one is backwards. The confusing labels and logical knobs would seem to mess with a persons muscle memory.

It's just an optical illusion.
