The Irish are condemned endless resentment under the yolk of the Roman Catholic Church. It is this alone that they really have something to rail at the English about. The English left them to these dreadful master manipulators. Daily the faithful are seduced by carefully crafted narratives that create a noose that tightens the more they struggle.
@trajan75 Hi, there! I'm just pointing out a few things that should be common knowledge. The RCC hasn't been able to silence everyone. Instead it has succeeded in avoiding taking responsibility not only for what it was witness to but what it was author of. This priest's entire talk is dishonest, manipulative rabble-rousing par excellence.
@ritchloui Catholics are well aware that there are sinners as well as Saints in the Church. In the 14th century Dante put a number of popes in his Inferno We can live with the fact that as long as the Church is run by humans that it will have the imperfections of the human race. Nevertheless it preserved Western Civilization after the barbarian invasions During the Renaissance it inspired the greatest art ever conceived, and today it is the word's largest charitable organization.
Ireland has long been a traditional roman catholic country. As such, the state has been afforded a special position within the Irish constitution a role in the provision of a range of key social services. For example, 98% of primary schools are funded by the state and yet are managed by the local Catholic bishop. Many hospitals are funded by the state and run by the roman catholic church.
No Northern Ireland or Protestant minister has ever moved on a deviant paedophile priest.

The Northern Ireland Government never colluded with any Unionist group, Protestant Churches or any other part of the state, in abuse of roman catholic’s.
It never institutionalised or abused a roman catholic child. The roman catholic church did that. roman catholic’s were given a free hand to administer to their own flock. They semi removed themselves form the state of Northern Ireland set up their own schools with government money.
This video is riddled with inaccuracies and anti Unionist and Protestant sectarianism
and bigotry.
Before this priest has the impudence to criticise Northern Ireland Unionist and Protestants He needs to have a look at the atrocities his church and the Irish government perpetrated on the Irish people of the Irish republic.
No section of Unionism, Protestantism or the Northern Ireland state carried out any of the atrocities that the Irish state and roman catholic church did on their own.
@ranger1640 Why is the RCC an enemy of the enlightenment, the UK and the US in particular? Oh yes, of course, in 1493 Pope Alexander VI gave all of the New World to Catholic Spain and Portugal and their heirs forever. South America was entirely enslaved by 1530 and by 1570 Africa’s ancient coastal civilizations had all fallen. This vast slaving empire built by the RCC was finally ended in the north. Nasty, nasty Proddies for stopping them in their tracks.
Don't listen to those who bash the catholic. They claim to love jesus, but they do not eat god and they fail to drink his blood ... they do not have the full life of God within them .... remember what st. john of the cross said .... CREATION FORGOTTEN .... CREATOR ALONE KNOW .... ATTENTION TURNED INWARD .... IN LOVE WITH THE BELOVED ALONE .... He also said, "LIVE AS IF GOD AND YOUR SOUL WERE THE ONLY THINGS IN THE WORLD .... THEN YOU WILL NOT BE DISTRACTED BY ANY WORLDLY THING ...
Catholics will all burn in the lake of fire and burn into ashes! Come out of the "harlot" and save your spiritual life. God's ONE TRUE APOSTLE. HERBERT W. ARMSTRONG.
The Book Rev does not refer to the Catholic church as the Whore of Babylon.
How is it that a former extreme anti-Catholic Protestant minister, Dr. Scott Hahn PhD, gets it and you do not?
He commented on the Catholic Mass:
"I realized that in the Mass I was really seeing on earth what was taking place in the heavenly liturgy that John describes in the Apocalypse...We are alongside the angels and the saints, singing the same songs, offering the same prayers"By Scott Hahn
Dude go away. You're not going to beat me into submission. I like being Catholic and that's all there is to it. I never said there weren't Judas' in the church. There are Judas' in EVERY church. You're more concerned about railroading the Catholic church than you are bringing people to Jesus. If It makes you feel good to have the last word, then have it and go away. Go down to TBN studios, take some paper plates with you and go microwave some pizza rolls with Jan Crouch and Lex Luger. I'm done.
@baredd79 The only thing beating you into submission is the amount of facts unearthed in international media, including youtube, which exposed the dark hidden sins of the catholic church such as the roman catholic inquisition, which tortured and killed an estimated 50-75 million people because they refused to embrace the false catholic faith, and of course, the now well known worldwide pedophilia & cover-up by catholic priests.
baredd79 You have been proven wrong many times and you are wrong again. The TBN channel has already embraced the catholic church and it's doctrines on its channel. Go to the TBN website and you can buy catholic literature and even catholic rosary beads there. As such TBN is no longer part of the true church of Christ, which upholds only the bible. So it is you who need to microwave some pizza rolls with Jan Crouch, your buddy.
@baredd79 I am not surprised that finally this is all you can say. You are not able to refute the facts placed before you. Truth hurts and you dare not face it.

PART 2@ opsvideo2008 This document is hardly reserved to sexual abuse. Under a Feb. 4, 1974, instruction Secreta Continere, pontifical secrecy covers: 1) Documents for which pontifical secrecy is expressly indicated; 2) Affairs dealt with by the Secretariat of State under pontifical secrecy; 3) Doctrinal denunciations and publications of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, as well as its investigations....
@ opsThe Catholics did the exact same thing the Jews did in 1947. They kicked the Arabs out of an already occupied land through an act of war. Each war was fought for different reason. The Jews claimed the land as their own. The Catholics said the Muslims had no business occupying Jerusalem in that the Muslims were oppressing Christian pilgrims in the city of their own God. I'd be willing to bet that you feel the 1947 war was justified because you feel it's Biblical prophecy in the making.
@baredd79 You are a truly a confused person when you compare the casualties of the creation of the state of Israel in 1948, to the murdered victims of the roman catholic inquisition, who were tortured in evil & demonic ways before they were killed for their faith which was not catholic. 50 -75 million people died because the catholic church wanted to stamp its faith on others, equivalent to all the people who died in WW II.
Jeremiah 17:5 shares with us a very pertinent truth for all the believers of Christ Jesus today. It says..."Thus saith the LORD ; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm (strength), whose heart departeth from the LORD." It doesn't matter whether the man trusted is the pope, a famous protestant leader or anybody; God says a curse is already in operation & it is spiritual darkness.
Catholics just want to mind their business. It's Protestants who always feel like they have to prove something to Catholics. Almost as if they have to keep assuring themselves that they were justified in leaving the church.
@baredd79 Catholics are fearful of open discussion of biblical truths because their spiritual faith is not founded on the bible but heretical man-made teachings and traditions. They are afraid to come to the light of God's truth and afraid to find out that what they have believed all their lives, are actually man-made beliefs and traditions. Their whole world would come crashing down once the truth is known.
@opsvideo2008 I guess all Christians up until the released canon are in Hell since they were without a new testament. I'm not afraid to debate you. I've already made a monkey out of you over and over again. And I'll be glad to do it again. Oh, by the way.....Why did Luther call the book of James a gospel of straw? As 4 your comment on "faith alone" back on your other little silly argument. The only place the Bible mentions "faith alone" are where the words "not by" are in front. James 2:24.
@baredd79 The catholic canon of the bible was only released in the 4th century and is not the oldest known canon of the bible, which is the Peshitta, the Syrian bible written in Aramaic, released in 150 AD. This goes to show that other canons of the bible were already existing much earlier before the catholic bible, which contained extra old testament books, which were rejected by both the Hebrew & Protestant canons.
@opsvideo2008 Moot point. The Peshitta translation isn't what's in your King James version, is it? God allowed the Muslim armies to attack Constantinople BEFORE the Aramaic Bible was accepted by the Greek Church. The Greek monks of Constantinople fled their churches with the Greek manuscripts they had from Antioch and the Eastern churches, and that's a fact. Every Time you try to separate yourself from the Catholic connection, you wind up pulling the rug out from your own Protestant feet.
@baredd79 I quote the Peshitta as an e.g. of a canon that already existed before the catholic bible of the 4th century. Three known competing streams of bible manuscripts are (1) the Syrian Aramaic from which the Peshitta originated (2) the Alexandrian from which the catholic Latin Vulgate bible came & (3) the Antioch Greek Textus Receptus on which the KJV is based. The "catholic connection" is a myth.
@opsvideo2008 You Protestants always claim that the King James Bible is based on the only perfect set of manuscripts Christians have. This is a false claim. There is no perfect set of manuscripts, and the ones used for the KJV were compiled by a Catholic Erasmus. So no Catholic connection? Riiggghhht. Keep drinking the Kool Aid.
@baredd79 You have got your facts wrong. The KJV old testament is exactly the same as the original Hebrew canon unlike the catholic old testament which has 7 additional books known as the Apocrypha, which has been rejected by the Jews. The KJV new testament is based on the Textus Receptus which were the carefully copied manuscripts of the original NT in greek. The catholic connection is a myth.
@opsvideo2008 As for the Apocrypha, if Catholics added the deuterocanonical books in 1546, then Martin Luther beat us to the punch: He included them in his first German translation, published the Council of Trent. They can also be found in the first King James Version (1611) and in the first Bible ever printed, the Guttenberg Bible (a century before Trent).
@baredd79 I have told you earlier that you have an unhealthy fixation on what Luther did whether right or wrong, that you have totally ignore the fact it was God's Himself, working through the Holy Spirit in men, who ensured His word is pure and free from man's corruption. The end result is that today, the King James bible is the only true and final revealed word of God for mankind vs all of the other corrupted versions.
@baredd79 I think you should re-do your homework because you are wrong. The Apocrypha were already included in the old testament of the catholic bible canon of the 4th century, and not only in 1546 as you claimed. When Martin Luther translated the bible in German, he removed the Apocrypha from the old testament & placed it in a separate section labelled Apocrypha, and excluded it from the Luther canon.
PART 1 @opsvideo2008 Your view on the deuterocanonical books is skewed. Catholics don't include Apocryphal books. we do have the seven "deuterocanonical books" of the Old Testament, which is commonly mislabelled as "apocryphal" in Protestant Bibles. Often you will hear that the Catholic Church "added" seven books, when the truth is the opposite. The Protestant churches *removed* the seven books, because they argued with the man-made doctrines of the Reformers.
@opsvideo20008 PART 2 How could Luther speak against these seven books (and the four NT books he wanted removed as well) if they were not already in The Bible as received by Christians of the era? Why does the Anglican Biblical canon include *more* books than that of The Catholic Church? This is because many of these books were used by everyone, and a few others were used by some groups. The fact is, the claim that these books were added in the 16th century hasn't a leg to stand on.
PART 3@ OPSVIDEO 2008 For every time they claim the books were added, historians (both religious and secular) can find historical evidence to prove otherwise. This comes in the form of writings of church fathers, commentary on the books, declarations from the Church on Biblical canon, and the fact that Bibles exist, from centuries before the 16th century, that include the seven books.
PART 4@opsvideo2008 The claims of the Catholic Church, that these books were received by Christians before Protestantism, is the only correct answer because it is the only one that agrees with the widely available facts.
@opsvideo2008 "We have no other assurance that the books of Moses, the four Gospels, and the other books are the true word of God, but by the canon of the Catholic Church." St. Augustine (the most respected early church father of the Protestants).
@baredd79 I think you have again got it all wrong. While Augustine of Hippo of the 4th century may have been a well known early church father, it was actually the Pope Boniface VIII of the catholic church who exalted him by canonizing him and making him into a saint in the 13th century. To most Protestants, his writings & teachings does not carry any weight at all when compared to the teachings of the bible, the word of God.
@opsvideo2008 "St. Augustine is one of the greatest of catholic saints. He is revered by Western Christians both Roman Catholic and Protestant, and especially by Calvinists and Lutherans". Dr. R. C. Sproul, a leading Calvinist theologian
@baredd79 The trouble with the catholic faith you are practising is that you are more fixated on what men such as Augustine, the pope or even Protestant leaders like Luther, etc...are saying, THAN WHAT THE BIBLE IS SAYING DIRECTLY TO YOU. And that is precisely your downfall in your spiritual search for truth. Men are fallible & when they err, you are exactly like what Jesus said, the blind following the blind.
Christ's church was founded at Pentecost, not in the 16th century. Who told u the Bible is enough? It wasn't Jesus. It wasn't the Apostles. It was Luther and Calvin. You show me in scripture where Sola Scriptura is valid. That's why you don't wanna talk about Luther. Because you know he's in error. 2 Thess 3:6: Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
@baredd79 Therein lies the error of the catholic church in that it places equal if not more emphasis on the teachings and traditions of man rather than accord recognition to the final and only authority of christians, that is the bible, the word of God. Jesus said it best in Matthew 15:6 when He scolded the scribes & Pharisees..."....Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition." History repeats itself.
@opsvideo2008 I'll have to deal with you later. I've got a full time job to attend to. I don't have time to sit at the house all day long and draw an Obama check so I can rebuttal your misunderstandings between infallibility and impeccability over and over again.
@opsvideo2008 The Bible is a product of tradition. How do we know what was said word for word between Mary and Gabriel at the annunciation? There were only two there. It was Mary's oral account word for word, that we know what happened. Mary wasn't handed a written account by Gabriel saying "Here, take this"! When you throw out tradition of the church, your throwing the baby out with the bath water. Read 2 Thess 3:6
PART 1@opsvideo2008 Ohhhhhhh ok. So God only works through the Holy Spirit of men outside the Catholic church. Within the church they are considered "man made dogmas". My unhealthy fixatation on Luther is none worse than yours that of the RCC. I mean, come on. Calvin doesn't know ANYTHING about a man made dogmas, does he? Ditching sacraments upheld by the Apostles? Nooooooo. That's not a man made dogma!? I think you drink a hell of a lot of Kool Aid. Your KJV is not a perfect translation.
PART 2 Case in point, Heb 4:8 reads: “For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.” This sounds as though Jesus could not provide the eternal rest that we all long for! However, the Greek word for Jesus is the same as the word for Joshua. And in the context of Heb 4, Joshua is obviously meant. There is no textual problem here; it is rather simply a mistake on the part of the translators, perpetuated for the last 400 years in all editions of the KJV.
@baredd79 Martin Luther may had doubts about the book of James because he believe salvation is by God's grace alone, and that through faith, not of works; and yet James 2:20 says..."...faith without works is dead ". But we know now that what James meant was that if a person has REAL faith, it will always result in good works as a fruit of his faith. But a person can never be saved by good works.
@baredd79 In your search for biblical truth, never based your argument on what a particular person did or did not do, but instead rely 100% on the word of God, the bible. If your faith and salvation is based on what Martin Luther did right or did wrong, then you are on the wrong path. Luther found the truth of the bible but he also have doubts about book of James. But today the book of James is still part of the bible, by God's will.
PART 1@opsvideo2008 You stated.."If your faith and salvation is based on what Martin Luther did right or did wrong, then you are on the wrong path". Your Bible ALONE based salvation IS based on what Martin Luther did, be it right or wrong. I guess your on the wrong path. Is was NOT a part of Christianity UNTIL the 16th century! Who is more important you OPSVIDEO2008? What Christ taught his Apostles? Or what Luther taught his followers?? And stop tip toeing around What Luther said!
@baredd79 Again I would like to remind you of 2 Timothy 1:9 which tells us our good works can never save us as salvation is by God's grace and through faith alone....." Who (God) hath saved us and called us with a holy calling, NOT ACCORDING TO OUR WORKS, but according to His own purpose and GRACE, which was GIVEN us in Christ Jesus, before the world began...."
@opsvideo2008 Your spinning James 2:24!? Do you deny that James CLEARLY DENIES "faith alone" in James 2:24!? Why is your Martin Luther Dogmatic teachings of sola scriptura justified by a confused man who OPENLY ADMITTED by his own admission that he added to his German translation of Romans 3:28, causing him to be in direct violation of Duet: 4:2 As for 2nd Timothy, there are more NT verses that soot down "faith alone" than support it. Also read 1 Cor. 6:9–10, Gal. 5:19–21.
@baredd79 Romans 3:20 tells us..." Therefore by the deeds (good works) of the law THERE SHALL NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED in His sight : for by the law is the knowledge of sin." In Romans 3:28, Paul then concludes..." Therefore we conclude THAT A MAN IS JUSTIFIED BY FAITH WITHOUT THE DEEDS (GOOD WORKS) OF THE LAW. It is very clear here that man is not going to appease God & be justified by doing good works.
@opsvideo2008 This answer neglects three key points: (1) In Romans 3:28 Paul is speaking of initial justification rather than righteousness in the ongoing life of the believer; (2) when he speaks of the works of the Law, Paul is concerned with Mosaic observances such as circumcision, not acts of Christian obedience; (3) human cooperation doesn’t undermine the gratuitousness of God’s work in us, but can be an expression of it. Consider each point in turn.
@baredd79 The law as mentioned in Romans 3:28 refers to the Mosaic Law which is a law code given by God to Moses and the people of Israel with regards their worship, their relationship to Him & their social relationships with one another. It includes the Ten commandments and there is no such distinction as "christian obedience". If a person cannot meet any of its requirements, he is already a breaker of the law.
@opsvideo2008 Paul is saying in Romans 3:28 that God has raised up both of us-Jews and Gentiles-to sit in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, for we received initial salvation as a gift. We obtained it by faith in Christ, not by works of obedience to the Mosaic Law. So neither Jew or Gentile can boast over the other of having privilege with God. "Instead,Christians are the result of God's work, for he created us anew in the body of Christ so that we might do good works. Plain and simple.
@baredd79 In Romans 3:28, Paul says...." Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." Where in this verse does it say what you have said about God raising Jews & Gentiles to sit in the heavenly places because they received initial salvation as a gift ? You are obviously confused and mixed-up in your thinking. It simply says God justifies a person by his faith in Jesus, not his deeds of the law.
@opsvideo200 I was translating for you in layman's terms what Paul was saying so you could have a better understanding. Believe it or not, Paul's 16 word sentence has more meaning that just 16 words on a piece of paper. Have you ever completed a book summery in high school?
@baredd79 What James 2:24 is trying to say is that if a man has REAL LIVING FAITH, it will always produce good works as a FRUIT. If a man claims to have faith, but have not good works, his faith is dead or in other words, he has no faith at all. Since a true living faith always produce good works, James 2:24 is right in saying that a man is justified not by his faith only, but by his works as well, which is really a fruit of his faith.
@opsvideo2008 I guess you must be a better translator than your Protestant leader, Luther, being that he wanted to get rid of James, calling it a "book of straw" no less. Now all of a sudden for this book, you want to be Catholic and not take the literal interpretation like the Protestant ALWAYS does. This is why Protestants ALWAYS makes end time prophecies, and wind up getting egg on their face when they never come true. Will the Hagee's of the world ever have any credibility? Short answer, no.
@baredd79 I think for once and for all, you should honour God and His omnipotent power that it is He who keeps His word pure from the intended corruption of sinful man & the devil. No one can refute that the Protestant bible today, has the book of James included and the Apocrypha excluded, and it is not by any man's decision but only by the sovereign working of the Almighty God. You err the moment you exalt man.
@opsvideo2008 You stated..."You err the moment you exalt man". What do you think the Protestant reformation was, lol? Do you think Jesus intended 33,000 plus denominations?? That's not a spirit of truth. That's a spirit of confusion. We Catholics ARE THE FIRST AND TRUE Christians. Not you. WE have the correct canon of scripture. Not you. Dogmas of Calvin are not Dogmas of the Apostles.
@baredd79 The Protestant Reformation is a movement protesting against the false man-made doctrines of the catholic church which totally contradicts what the bible teaches. Protestants do not exalt Luther other than that he was the man used by God to expose the heretical teachings of the catholic church. The catholics instead idolise the pope as the infallible Vicar of Christ on earth. This is heresy. Only God is infallible.
@opsvideo2008 The Pope is infallible in order of business related to the church. He's not sinless. Was Calvin infallible? You practice his doctrines this day don't you? You have no more assurance that the NT is infallible other than your Christian faith. I have no more assurance that the Pope's decisions regarding church matters are infallible other than my own Christian faith. The Apostles made their own decision to choose Matthias as Judas' successor AFTER Christ left. Were they infallible?
@baredd79 As regards your comment that the pope is infallible on church matters, you've shown you are in denial because your current pope has already shown himself to be fallible by being directly involved in the cover-up of worldwide pedophilia committed by sexually perverted catholic priests. And that not counting yet the roman catholic inquisition sanctoned by popes which murdered an est. 50-75 million over the centuries.
PART 1 @opsvideo2008 The Associated Press reported recently that three insurance companies receive upward of 260 reports each year of young people under 18 being sexually abused by Protestant clergy, challenging the assumption that clergy sexual abuse is an exclusively Catholic problem that does not take place in other churches. That is a higher number than the annual average of 228 “credible accusations” brought against Catholic clerics in records reported by the Catholic Church....
@baredd79 I am not denying that pedophilia can occur anywhere. But the catholic church is the only religious organization in the world where its top hierarchy, the pope , the cardinals and the bishops have deliberately & systematically covered-up all the sexual crimes of its priests, and yet dare claim to represent God ! And we are talking of decades of known pedophilia & now whether if they are not centuries old.
PART 2 @opsvideo2008 in response to media scrutiny, a priest observed in a Fox News commentary questioning why the story isn’t garnering more attention.
@ opsvideo And one more thing on your sex scandal misinformation. The Pope does not micro manage every diocese in the world. Each diocese is stand alone. If a church fails, it fails. There's no "Vatican bail out plan", nor does the Pope micro manage the affairs of RCC bishops other than magisterium matters. If a Bishop moves a bad priest around, it's due to the Bishop of that diocese. The Pope becomes aware of a situation once (or if) it is addressed to him. We don't deny Christ due to Judas.
@baredd79 You are either sleeping or in deep denial if you have not heard of "crimens sollicitationis" ( the Crime of Solicitation), the document issued by the Vatican which ordered the complete secrecy of cases where priests are accused of soliciting sex. This document is already out in the open and was even reported on BBC documentary entitled "Vatican Sex Crimes". You are truly a pathetic person.
PART 1 @opsvideo2008 Hold your tongue, jerk. Crimen Sollicitationis was not designed to "cover up" sex abuse. Read paragraph 15, which obligates anyone with knowledge of a priest abusing the confessional for that purpose to come forward, under pain of excommunication for failing to do so. This penalty is stipulated, the document says, "lest [the offense] remain occult and unpunished and always with inestimable detriment to souls."
@baredd79 I truly pity you. When truth is staring you in the face, you still cannot see it because you have decided to close your eyes to it, and have decided that you wish to live in darkness. On more about "Crimen Sollicitationis" , the Vatican document which promotes secrecy of pedophila by catholic priests, you should see the youtube video " Thomas Doyle on Crimen Sollicitationis" Thomas Doyle was a catholic priest himself.
@baredd79 It is typically "catholic" of you to ignore the facts already published in worldwide media, including youtube documentary videos and of you to keep on going with the denial. To some catholics, you may appear like a faithful defender of the one true church, but the world sees you as a fool who is in denial, who still doesn't know that the cat has already jumped out of the bag.
PART 3 @opsvideo2008 4) Extrajudicial denunciations of crimes against the faith or against morals, and crimes against the sacrament of penance, as well as the procedures leading to these denunciations; 5) Acts by Vatican representatives relative to matters covered by the pontifical secret; 6) Creation of cardinals.....
@opsvideo2008 Protestants have lots of blood on their hands too my friend. Look at all the Catholics that were killed and discriminated against at hands of Protestants in NYC during the immigration. How about the Puritans? Look at the innocent blood that was spilled. How about the KKK hating Catholics? It goes both ways big guy.
@baredd79 While there may be wars between catholics and protestants, with many people from both sides killed like the war in Ireland, it is minuscule compared to the estimated 50-70 million people barbarously tortured and killed by the catholic church during the roman catholic church throughout the centuries. The 50-70 million casualties is of similar magnitude to the estimated 60 million people killed in world war 2.
@opsvideo2008 As a matter of fact, the John Hagee wacko fundamentalist have been sending money to Russian Jews for years now, sending them on planes back to Israel because they are trying to purposely fulfill Bible prophecy. I personally feel both wars were justified. No justified war can be under demonic influence. The old testament is full of war stories, and many of the instigators were good guys.
@baredd79 Jesus said in John 14:26.."But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will sent in My name, HE WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring to remembrance all things that I said to you." Every believer of Christ Jesus has the Holy Spirit in him, who teaches all things, esp. the things of God. God intends this for each and every believer, in conjunction with His true church, the body of Christ.
@opsvideo2008 I'M CALLING YOU OUT RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW! Do you deny that Martin Luther added to his German translated letter to the Romans during the sixteenth century, where he added the word "alone", when the word "alone" IS NOT IN THE ORIGINAL GREEK TEXT! Do you deny this OPSVIDEO2008?? YES or NO! Do you deny that your heretic Luther is in direct violation of Duet. 4:2 !? YES OR NO!!
@baredd79 Where did you get the idea that Martin Luther added the word "alone" in his translation of the book of Romans and in what verse of that book are you referring to? Before you use Deuteronomy 4:2 to condemn him, you should provide specific reference and proof in your accusations; otherwise it is mere accusation which anybody can make against another person.
@opsvideo2008 Protestant scholars have admitted:...Martin Luther would once again emphasize...that we are "justified by faith alone", apart from the works of the Law" (Rom. 3:28), adding the German word allein ("alone") in his translation of the Greek text. "There is certainly a trace of Marcion in Luther's move" (Brown HOJ. Heresies: Heresy and Orthodoxy in the History of the Church. Hendrickson Publishers, Peabody (MA), 1988, pp. 64-65).
@baredd79 You are mistaken. Romans 3:28 says...."Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." There is no added word "alone" as you claim. Like I said earlier, anyone can throw false accusations against another but cannot substantiate when the bible is opened up & referred to. Romans 3:28 is very clear that a man is justified by his faith WITHOUT THE DEEDS (his good works) OF THE LAW.
@opsvideo2008 You are the one who is mistaken. The translation that you are reading from, is not from Martin Luther's German 1545 translation. This information on Luther's heresy regarding adding to Romans 3:28 is from the 2003 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica (page 306). Don't believe me. Do the research for YOURSELF.
@baredd79 I don't understand why you are so fixated on Luther's errors (i.e.if they really exist) You should bear in mind that Luther is not infallible as God but is just a man, a vessel used by God to point out the unbiblical man-made teachings & traditions of the catholic church, which what he is saying is true when compared to the bible. God can use imperfect people to do His will or point out the truth.
@baredd79 If you are being honest with yourself, you would subject your faith to the acid test of truth, that is comparing it to the INFALLIBLE word of God. Other bible verses which clearly supports faith and not works are Ephesians 2:8-9...." For by GRACE are ye saved through FAITH, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD. NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST." Nothing can be clearer than this.
@opsvideo2008 Only your Bible verse picks are infallible, right Opsvideo2008? I think maybe you need to read Gal. 5:6, 1Cor 13:2, Jn 14:15, and Matt 19:16-17. The kind of salvation Paul is discussing in Ephesians 2:8-9 is initial salvation. It is the kind which we received when we first came to God and were justified, not the kind of salvation we are now receiving (cf. 1 Peter 1:8-9, Phil. 2:12) or the kind we will one day receive (cf. Rom. 13:11, 1 Cor. 3:15, 5:5).
@baredd79 There is no such thing as initial salvation in the bible. When Jesus died, he said " It is finished! " (John 19:30). Hebrews 10:12 says.."But this Man (Jesus) after He had offered ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOREVER, sat down at the right hand of God." A christian's responsibility is to abide in Jesus, keep His commandments & bear fruit(good works), not do good works to earn salvation.
@opsvideo2008 Initial salvation refers to the moment in time when a person extends a trusting-submitting faith in Jesus Christ. There is no Initial salvation opsvideo??? How does a person become "saved"? You stated.."There is no such thing as initial salvation in the bible". What about when Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham” (Luke 19:9). You need to rethink.
@opsvideo2008 No such thing as initial salvation?? Do you know what initial salvation means?? Here's a perfect example of initial salvation. Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham” (Luke 19:9). For you to say biblical initial salvation does not exist is a elementary school blunder in the rule of apologetics.
@baredd79 Luke 19:9 tells us..."And Jesus said to him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he is also a son of Abraham." You quoted this verse as an example of initial salvation but nowhere in it does it say or even hint anything about the initial salvation. It just means that God's salvation has come to the house of that man because they believed in Jesus. You shouldn't misinterprete the verse to suit yourself.
@opsvideo2008 Zacchaeus is BEING RECEIVED BY CHRIST . If you go on to read the next verse, Jesus says "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost". So Christ received Zacchaeus through initial salvation. Zacchaeus did not receive Christ before hand. Hence when Christ says "Today salvation has come to this house", AFTER Zaccnaeus offers himself to Christ. So initial salvation does not exist? U said Christ said "It is finished". But u have to accept his gift. It isn't just given.
@baredd79 In short, a man is saved by God's grace and it is through his faith or belief that Jesus died for his sins that he is justified in God's sight. No man can justify himself to God by doing good works because Isaiah 64:6 tells us that in God's eyes.."..all our righteousness are as filthy rags.." But Jesus in John 15:4 instead asks His disciples to abide in Him in order to bear fruit ( do the good works of God).
@opsvideo2008 Wrong again. Read Rev. 20:12. I saw the dead, both unimportant and important, standing in front of the throne, and books were open. Another book was opened-the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books.
I would say it is better for this priest to carry out a crusade against the sodomy, physical abuse and sexual molestions committed by his fellow priests in the catholic church than to complain about anti-catholicism in Ireland. He needs to clean his house first before wondering why people are critical of catholicism.
Please demonstrate how being a priest makes one more prone to pedophilia please. Peoples criticisms about the issue by connecting it to Catholic teaching itself in most cases are unfounded.
@Childinfaith, Any person with simple common sense will be able to explain to you that celibacy is a gift from God which the catholic church is unnaturally forcing upon the catholic priesthood. Suppressed human sexuality without divine enablement, will eventually give birth to sexual perversions such as the pedophilia committed worldwide by catholic priests. The big sin of the catholic church are the cover-ups by it's officials.
The Irish people should honestly ask themselves this question. What good has come out of the Ireland embracing catholicism? History tells us the Roman Catholic Inquisition in Europe tortured and killed 75 million people in 1200 years. And now the world knows the Irish children suffered the worst of the physical and sexual abuse at the hands of catholic priests and the cover-ups by their superiors.
THE CATHOLIC ASSOCIATION OF SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS? LOL> Thats HILARIOUS! The catholic church would have destroyed those people back in the day if it had it's way. YOUTUBE ERIC JOHN PHELPS>
@MrKodiak1000, I agree with you. How hilarious! If the world had only this Catholic Association Of Scientists and Engineers, under the patronage of the catholic church, and no other scientific associations, we would still be believing the sun revolves around the earth, as asserted by the catholic church during the time of Galileo Galilei, who was forced to recant his heliocentric view of the solar system & put under house arrest.
@opsvideo2008 Yes, it is a shame. They have infiltrated many areas of of science also trying to curtail real progress. Same with the trade unions etc. The Fed REEKS of Catholicism. When are they leaving?
@MrKodiak1000, I have just watched a youtube video entitled "Will sex abuse victims get a fair trial " which highlighted the fact that America now has 6 supreme court judges of the catholic faith out of nine (the other three being jews and there are no protestants) when the catholics are only 25% of America's population. And that even the head of CIA is a catholic which just shows the Vatican has already taken control of America.
@opsvideo2008 They BOUGHT there way there. That or no protestants voted... They are primarily there so when Catholic Corporations/Businesses, like trade unions, get into legal trouble they will simply look the other way. ALSO, when this CATHOLIC healthcare goes through, they will take all the prosecutions they have against them and throw them out the window. Catholics aught to live in Europe.
@Childinfaith, Instead of creating silly diversions and changing subject, you and all serious catholics should be asking why your catholic church is bearing bad fruit by hiding pedophilia ( which is a crime) and covering it up by swearing the victims to silence and shuffling the guilty priests from parish to parish. Jesus has already implied in Matthew 7:17 that only a bad tree can bear bad fruit.
@baredd79, There are many false cults and followers who claim to be Protestants, and the Ku Klux Klan is just one of them. However, there is only ONE catholic church, and it's bad fruit has already been seen by the world.
@Childinfaith Once again, is the place you go to church the only thing you do as a catholic? It's a little more involved than what you say. Actually, when voting comes around you vote catholic, when you need to express your point of view it's catholic etc. "The Church" sits around thinking about ways for you to come back and one of those things involves abortion. Your chuch regularly uses extortion and gets away with slavery. You are un-american!
And Rome!!! what about their strength and power/ Empire,,, here this priest is a Hypocrite... are they all the same with a bitterness towards Protestants
@sinnfeinmurderers I think they followed us to America. It's the girlfriend that wouldn't go away. Someone should remind the catholics that it is the protestants that made the progress in science etc.
I converted from Calvinizm to Catholicism because our Savior, Jesus Christ is with the Catholic Church. This is the truth and undeniable. If you are ouside the Catholic Chuch and denounce the Catholic faith, it is apparent that you just envy the Catholic Church. No matter how hard you try to criticize the Catholic Church, it will be the main stream of Christianity eternally as it has been since the very time of its foundation by the hand of Jesus Christ.
@gallusguy Sorry your wrong their is about one anti protestant to about 300 anti-catholics. There are alot more prejudice against the catholic church than any protestant denomination.
There is bigotry amongst all religions but I seldom if ever hear any Protestant whinging about "anti-Protestant bigotry" the way Catholics do.
The phrase "anti-Catholic bigot" was invented by the Jesuits back in the 1950s and they encouraged its use to forestall criticism of the RCC, probably as The Ratline became known or maybe reports of widespread sexual abuse of children by RC priests.
If people lived their religion instead of talking about it, we'd be better off.
Please write in Google STANLEY VILLAVINCENCIO, he is a man from the Philippines who encountered our Lord Jesus in year 1993 and Jesus appears to him sill in dreams and he can hear Jesus voice.

New Testament was written in Greek, not Latin, but the Roman Church has derived its doctrine from the Latin translation, not the Greek original. Therefore, it constructed its doctrine on a false translation.
it cannot correct itself since so much is invested in the worship, adoration, and prayer to Mary in the Roman Catholic Church and to recant of this false teaching would greatly lessen its credibility.
Catholics will continue to look to Mary for help, not Christ who is truly full of grace.
Didn't the Pharisees call Jesus a bastard to his face and denigrate the Blessed Mother. You continue the tradition by your inane and pointless comments.
In Stephen's case it signifies that he was "full of the Spirit and of wisdom," along with faith and the Holy Spirit (Acts 6:3, 5). But Stephen was a sinner. Nevertheless, where does the phrase "full of grace" come from regarding Mary?
The Latin Vulgate is the Latin translation of the Bible done by St. Jerome in the fourth century. It is here in Luke 1:28 that is found the unfortunate Latin translation which says "ave gratia plena "Hail full of grace
Ok lets assume you bare correct that Mary was indeed a sinful human like the rest of us. How would you explain God being able to derive his humanity from a sinful host such as Mary? If what you are saying is true, then it would suggest Jesus had a sinful nature as well. It does not follow that the Holy Spirit would bring about Mary's conception withing a womb tained with original sin unless of course the Catholic position is true and God indeed preserved her from it.
If you follow that train of thought that God would not bring Christ into the world via a sin stained woman, then why would God allow Mary to be brought into the world via her mother who was a sinner.
Mary was a sinner, she said it herself Luke 1:47 & Mary offered up a sin offering a blood sacrifice for her Purification after child birth ~ because under Law of Moses she was classed as UNCLEAN Luke 2:22 ~ 24.
Sinless people do not need a Saviour, neither do they need to offer sin offerings
The phrase "full of grace" in Greek is "plaras karitos" and it occurs in only two places in the NT neither one is in reference to Mary.
1."And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth," (John 1:14).
2."And Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people," (Acts 6:8).
The phrase "full of grace" does not necessitate sinlessness by virtue of its use
What Bible are you using exactly? As far as my knowledge goes the passage reffers to Mary as "full of grace" not simply "highly favored". Its a dirtly buisness changing the words of the Bible around to fit your liking.
People worldwide are now calling Catholicism by its proper name "The Cult of the dead woman" in Catholicism thats all you ever hear is mary, mary mary, its Idolatry pure and simple.
Mary is not capable of hearing millions of prayers directed to her at once, only God has that power, and Mary is nothing like God.
Why dont catholics direct all their honour to God alone, no where in scripture does it tell you to direct honour to any dead person, thats a kind of fetishism I guess.
Funny, that only person I've ever heard call it that was you. I must not get out enough.
Marys dead hmm? Well thats news to me. I thought people in heaven were more alive than anyone on earth. You must be part of some really strange brand of Christianity to suggest people in heaven are simply dead. Unless you are simply not educated enough on our doctrines to even critizise them correctly. Keep practicing. A few less braincells and you will be the picture perfect Catholic basher.
Yes friend Mary died but her soul is in heaven now the Vatican would like the world to believe that Mary was taken into heaven body & soul, where do they get this idea from?
Some Pope on his throne proclaimed it as dogma & now all the popes subjects must believe this non verfiable garbage, that comes from the Popes own fertile imagination
I guess child might explain this to us all where can anyone that is interested find the Assumption of Mary documented its not in scripture as far as I can see
Perhaps the Assumption isn't explicitly spelled out in the Bible however your theological knowladge is very sub par.
Do you remember what the angel told Mary when he told her the Holy Spirit was to make her pregnant? He reffered to her as "full of grace". Full of grace, being God's grace, is a term used only for Mary in the entire Bible. Being full of grace is another term used to mean that one is without sin or presevred from it. What does sin do? Or what are the wages of sin? Death.
Death being the wages of sin since the fall of Man affects all those after Adam. However if the angel, sent by God himself, told Mary that she was to bear the Messiah and that she herself was full of grace due to God preserving her from original sin, this means the wages of sin are not of consequence to Mary. Therefore it is the logical conclusion that Mary herself was assumed Body and soul into heaven due to God's graces upon her to be kept from sin and by extension preserved from death.
You are incorrect Full of Grace is used also in John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The angel said this !!
Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
HIGHLY FAVOURED ~ does not mean full of Grace
And she was blessed among women ~ NOT ABOVE WOMEN like Jael

It never institutionalised or abused a roman catholic child. The roman catholic church did that. roman catholic’s were given a free hand to administer to their own flock. They semi removed themselves form the state of Northern Ireland set up their own schools with government money.

I'm done.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 The only thing beating you into submission is the amount of facts unearthed in international media, including youtube, which exposed the dark hidden sins of the catholic church such as the roman catholic inquisition, which tortured and killed an estimated 50-75 million people because they refused to embrace the false catholic faith, and of course, the now well known worldwide pedophilia & cover-up by catholic priests.

@baredd79 Catholics are fearful of open discussion of biblical truths because their spiritual faith is not founded on the bible but heretical man-made teachings and traditions. Their whole world would come crashing down once the truth is known.

baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 The catholic canon of the bible was only released in the 4th century and is not the oldest known canon of the bible, which is the Peshitta, the Syrian bible written in Aramaic, released in 150 AD. This goes to show that other canons of the bible were already existing much earlier before the catholic bible, which contained extra old testament books, which were rejected by both the Hebrew & Protestant canons.

baredd79 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 Moot point. The Peshitta translation isn't what's in your King James version, is it? God allowed the Muslim armies to attack Constantinople BEFORE the Aramaic Bible was accepted by the Greek Church. The Greek monks of Constantinople fled their churches with the Greek manuscripts they had from Antioch and the Eastern churches, and that's a fact. Every Time you try to separate yourself from the Catholic connection, you wind up pulling the rug out from your own Protestant feet.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 I quote the Peshitta as an e.g. of a canon that already existed before the catholic bible of the 4th century. Three known competing streams of bible manuscripts are (1) the Syrian Aramaic from which the Peshitta originated (2) the Alexandrian from which the catholic Latin Vulgate bible came & (3) the Antioch Greek Textus Receptus on which the KJV is based. The "catholic connection" is a myth.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 You Protestants always claim that the King James Bible is based on the only perfect set of manuscripts Christians have. This is a false claim. There is no perfect set of manuscripts, and the ones used for the KJV were compiled by a Catholic Erasmus. So no Catholic connection? Riiggghhht. Keep drinking the Kool Aid.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 You have got your facts wrong. The KJV old testament is exactly the same as the original Hebrew canon unlike the catholic old testament which has 7 additional books known as the Apocrypha, which has been rejected by the Jews. The KJV new testament is based on the Textus Receptus which were the carefully copied manuscripts of the original NT in greek. The catholic connection is a myth.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 As for the Apocrypha, if Catholics added the deuterocanonical books in 1546, then Martin Luther beat us to the punch: He included them in his first German translation, published the Council of Trent. They can also be found in the first King James Version (1611) and in the first Bible ever printed, the Guttenberg Bible (a century before Trent).
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 I have told you earlier that you have an unhealthy fixation on what Luther did whether right or wrong, that you have totally ignore the fact it was God's Himself, working through the Holy Spirit in men, who ensured His word is pure and free from man's corruption. The end result is that today, the King James bible is the only true and final revealed word of God for mankind vs all of the other corrupted versions.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@baredd79 I think you should re-do your homework because you are wrong. The Apocrypha were already included in the old testament of the catholic bible canon of the 4th century, and not only in 1546 as you claimed. When Martin Luther translated the bible in German, he removed the Apocrypha from the old testament & placed it in a separate section labelled Apocrypha, and excluded it from the Luther canon.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
PART 1 @opsvideo2008 Your view on the deuterocanonical books is skewed. Catholics don't include Apocryphal books. we do have the seven "deuterocanonical books" of the Old Testament, which is commonly mislabelled as "apocryphal" in Protestant Bibles. Often you will hear that the Catholic Church "added" seven books, when the truth is the opposite. The Protestant churches *removed* the seven books, because they argued with the man-made doctrines of the Reformers.
baredd79 1 year ago
@opsvideo20008 PART 2 How could Luther speak against these seven books (and the four NT books he wanted removed as well) if they were not already in The Bible as received by Christians of the era? Why does the Anglican Biblical canon include *more* books than that of The Catholic Church? This is because many of these books were used by everyone, and a few others were used by some groups. The fact is, the claim that these books were added in the 16th century hasn't a leg to stand on.
baredd79 1 year ago
PART 3@ OPSVIDEO 2008 For every time they claim the books were added, historians (both religious and secular) can find historical evidence to prove otherwise. This comes in the form of writings of church fathers, commentary on the books, declarations from the Church on Biblical canon, and the fact that Bibles exist, from centuries before the 16th century, that include the seven books.
baredd79 1 year ago
PART 4@opsvideo2008 The claims of the Catholic Church, that these books were received by Christians before Protestantism, is the only correct answer because it is the only one that agrees with the widely available facts.
baredd79 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 "We have no other assurance that the books of Moses, the four Gospels, and the other books are the true word of God, but by the canon of the Catholic Church." St. Augustine (the most respected early church father of the Protestants).
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 I think you have again got it all wrong. While Augustine of Hippo of the 4th century may have been a well known early church father, it was actually the Pope Boniface VIII of the catholic church who exalted him by canonizing him and making him into a saint in the 13th century. To most Protestants, his writings & teachings does not carry any weight at all when compared to the teachings of the bible, the word of God.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 "St. Augustine is one of the greatest of catholic saints. He is revered by Western Christians both Roman Catholic and Protestant, and especially by Calvinists and Lutherans". Dr. R. C. Sproul, a leading Calvinist theologian
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 The trouble with the catholic faith you are practising is that you are more fixated on what men such as Augustine, the pope or even Protestant leaders like Luther, etc...are saying, THAN WHAT THE BIBLE IS SAYING DIRECTLY TO YOU. And that is precisely your downfall in your spiritual search for truth. Men are fallible & when they err, you are exactly like what Jesus said, the blind following the blind.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
Christ's church was founded at Pentecost, not in the 16th century. Who told u the Bible is enough? It wasn't Jesus. It wasn't the Apostles. It was Luther and Calvin. You show me in scripture where Sola Scriptura is valid. That's why you don't wanna talk about Luther. Because you know he's in error. 2 Thess 3:6: Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 Therein lies the error of the catholic church in that it places equal if not more emphasis on the teachings and traditions of man rather than accord recognition to the final and only authority of christians, that is the bible, the word of God. Jesus said it best in Matthew 15:6 when He scolded the scribes & Pharisees..."....Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition." History repeats itself.

Read 2 Thess 3:6
baredd79 1 year ago
PART 1@opsvideo2008 Ohhhhhhh ok. So God only works through the Holy Spirit of men outside the Catholic church. Within the church they are considered "man made dogmas". My unhealthy fixatation on Luther is none worse than yours that of the RCC. I mean, come on. Calvin doesn't know ANYTHING about a man made dogmas, does he? Ditching sacraments upheld by the Apostles? Nooooooo. That's not a man made dogma!? I think you drink a hell of a lot of Kool Aid. Your KJV is not a perfect translation.
baredd79 1 year ago

But a person can never be saved by good works.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago

@baredd79 Again I would like to remind you of 2 Timothy 1:9 which tells us our good works can never save us as salvation is by God's grace and through faith alone....." Who (God) hath saved us and called us with a holy calling, NOT ACCORDING TO OUR WORKS, but according to His own purpose and GRACE, which was GIVEN us in Christ Jesus, before the world began...."
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 Your spinning James 2:24!? Do you deny that James CLEARLY DENIES "faith alone" in James 2:24!? Why is your Martin Luther Dogmatic teachings of sola scriptura justified by a confused man who OPENLY ADMITTED by his own admission that he added to his German translation of Romans 3:28, causing him to be in direct violation of Duet: 4:2 As for 2nd Timothy, there are more NT verses that soot down "faith alone" than support it. Also read 1 Cor. 6:9–10, Gal. 5:19–21.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 Romans 3:20 tells us..." Therefore by the deeds (good works) of the law THERE SHALL NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED in His sight : for by the law is the knowledge of sin." In Romans 3:28, Paul then concludes..." Therefore we conclude THAT A MAN IS JUSTIFIED BY FAITH WITHOUT THE DEEDS (GOOD WORKS) OF THE LAW. It is very clear here that man is not going to appease God & be justified by doing good works.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 This answer neglects three key points: (1) In Romans 3:28 Paul is speaking of initial justification rather than righteousness in the ongoing life of the believer; (2) when he speaks of the works of the Law, Paul is concerned with Mosaic observances such as circumcision, not acts of Christian obedience; (3) human cooperation doesn’t undermine the gratuitousness of God’s work in us, but can be an expression of it. Consider each point in turn.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 The law as mentioned in Romans 3:28 refers to the Mosaic Law which is a law code given by God to Moses and the people of Israel with regards their worship, their relationship to Him & their social relationships with one another. It includes the Ten commandments and there is no such distinction as "christian obedience". If a person cannot meet any of its requirements, he is already a breaker of the law.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 Paul is saying in Romans 3:28 that God has raised up both of us-Jews and Gentiles-to sit in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, for we received initial salvation as a gift. We obtained it by faith in Christ, not by works of obedience to the Mosaic Law. So neither Jew or Gentile can boast over the other of having privilege with God. "Instead,Christians are the result of God's work, for he created us anew in the body of Christ so that we might do good works. Plain and simple.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 In Romans 3:28, Paul says...." Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." Where in this verse does it say what you have said about God raising Jews & Gentiles to sit in the heavenly places because they received initial salvation as a gift ? You are obviously confused and mixed-up in your thinking. It simply says God justifies a person by his faith in Jesus, not his deeds of the law.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo200 I was translating for you in layman's terms what Paul was saying so you could have a better understanding. Believe it or not, Paul's 16 word sentence has more meaning that just 16 words on a piece of paper. Have you ever completed a book summery in high school?
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 What James 2:24 is trying to say is that if a man has REAL LIVING FAITH, it will always produce good works as a FRUIT. If a man claims to have faith, but have not good works, his faith is dead or in other words, he has no faith at all. Since a true living faith always produce good works, James 2:24 is right in saying that a man is justified not by his faith only, but by his works as well, which is really a fruit of his faith.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 I guess you must be a better translator than your Protestant leader, Luther, being that he wanted to get rid of James, calling it a "book of straw" no less. Now all of a sudden for this book, you want to be Catholic and not take the literal interpretation like the Protestant ALWAYS does. This is why Protestants ALWAYS makes end time prophecies, and wind up getting egg on their face when they never come true. Will the Hagee's of the world ever have any credibility? Short answer, no.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 I think for once and for all, you should honour God and His omnipotent power that it is He who keeps His word pure from the intended corruption of sinful man & the devil. No one can refute that the Protestant bible today, has the book of James included and the Apocrypha excluded, and it is not by any man's decision but only by the sovereign working of the Almighty God. You err the moment you exalt man.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 You stated..."You err the moment you exalt man". What do you think the Protestant reformation was, lol? Do you think Jesus intended 33,000 plus denominations?? That's not a spirit of truth. That's a spirit of confusion. We Catholics ARE THE FIRST AND TRUE Christians. Not you. WE have the correct canon of scripture. Not you. Dogmas of Calvin are not Dogmas of the Apostles.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 The Protestant Reformation is a movement protesting against the false man-made doctrines of the catholic church which totally contradicts what the bible teaches. Protestants do not exalt Luther other than that he was the man used by God to expose the heretical teachings of the catholic church. The catholics instead idolise the pope as the infallible Vicar of Christ on earth. This is heresy. Only God is infallible.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 The Pope is infallible in order of business related to the church. He's not sinless. Was Calvin infallible? You practice his doctrines this day don't you? You have no more assurance that the NT is infallible other than your Christian faith. I have no more assurance that the Pope's decisions regarding church matters are infallible other than my own Christian faith. The Apostles made their own decision to choose Matthias as Judas' successor AFTER Christ left. Were they infallible?
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 As regards your comment that the pope is infallible on church matters, you've shown you are in denial because your current pope has already shown himself to be fallible by being directly involved in the cover-up of worldwide pedophilia committed by sexually perverted catholic priests. And that not counting yet the roman catholic inquisition sanctoned by popes which murdered an est. 50-75 million over the centuries.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
PART 1 @opsvideo2008 The Associated Press reported recently that three insurance companies receive upward of 260 reports each year of young people under 18 being sexually abused by Protestant clergy, challenging the assumption that clergy sexual abuse is an exclusively Catholic problem that does not take place in other churches. That is a higher number than the annual average of 228 “credible accusations” brought against Catholic clerics in records reported by the Catholic Church....
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 I am not denying that pedophilia can occur anywhere. But the catholic church is the only religious organization in the world where its top hierarchy, the pope , the cardinals and the bishops have deliberately & systematically covered-up all the sexual crimes of its priests, and yet dare claim to represent God ! And we are talking of decades of known pedophilia & now whether if they are not centuries old.

PART 2 @opsvideo2008 in response to media scrutiny, a priest observed in a Fox News commentary questioning why the story isn’t garnering more attention.
baredd79 1 year ago
@ opsvideo And one more thing on your sex scandal misinformation. The Pope does not micro manage every diocese in the world. Each diocese is stand alone. If a church fails, it fails. There's no "Vatican bail out plan", nor does the Pope micro manage the affairs of RCC bishops other than magisterium matters. If a Bishop moves a bad priest around, it's due to the Bishop of that diocese. The Pope becomes aware of a situation once (or if) it is addressed to him. We don't deny Christ due to Judas.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 You are either sleeping or in deep denial if you have not heard of "crimens sollicitationis" ( the Crime of Solicitation), the document issued by the Vatican which ordered the complete secrecy of cases where priests are accused of soliciting sex. This document is already out in the open and was even reported on BBC documentary entitled "Vatican Sex Crimes". You are truly a pathetic person.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
PART 1 @opsvideo2008 Hold your tongue, jerk. Crimen Sollicitationis was not designed to "cover up" sex abuse. Read paragraph 15, which obligates anyone with knowledge of a priest abusing the confessional for that purpose to come forward, under pain of excommunication for failing to do so. This penalty is stipulated, the document says, "lest [the offense] remain occult and unpunished and always with inestimable detriment to souls."
baredd79 1 year ago

It goes both ways big guy.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 While there may be wars between catholics and protestants, with many people from both sides killed like the war in Ireland, it is minuscule compared to the estimated 50-70 million people barbarously tortured and killed by the catholic church during the roman catholic church throughout the centuries. The 50-70 million casualties is of similar magnitude to the estimated 60 million people killed in world war 2.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago

4:2 !? YES OR NO!!
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 Where did you get the idea that Martin Luther added the word "alone" in his translation of the book of Romans and in what verse of that book are you referring to? Before you use Deuteronomy 4:2 to condemn him, you should provide specific reference and proof in your accusations; otherwise it is mere accusation which anybody can make against another person.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 Protestant scholars have admitted:...Martin Luther would once again emphasize...that we are "justified by faith alone", apart from the works of the Law" (Rom. 3:28), adding the German word allein ("alone") in his translation of the Greek text. "There is certainly a trace of Marcion in Luther's move" (Brown HOJ. Heresies: Heresy and Orthodoxy in the History of the Church. Hendrickson Publishers, Peabody (MA), 1988, pp. 64-65).
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 You are mistaken. Romans 3:28 says...."Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." There is no added word "alone" as you claim. Like I said earlier, anyone can throw false accusations against another but cannot substantiate when the bible is opened up & referred to. Romans 3:28 is very clear that a man is justified by his faith WITHOUT THE DEEDS (his good works) OF THE LAW.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 You are the one who is mistaken. The translation that you are reading from, is not from Martin Luther's German 1545 translation. This information on Luther's heresy regarding adding to Romans 3:28 is from the 2003 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica (page 306). Don't believe me. Do the research for YOURSELF.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 I don't understand why you are so fixated on Luther's errors (i.e.if they really exist) You should bear in mind that Luther is not infallible as God but is just a man, a vessel used by God to point out the unbiblical man-made teachings & traditions of the catholic church, which what he is saying is true when compared to the bible. God can use imperfect people to do His will or point out the truth.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@baredd79 If you are being honest with yourself, you would subject your faith to the acid test of truth, that is comparing it to the INFALLIBLE word of God. Other bible verses which clearly supports faith and not works are Ephesians 2:8-9...." For by GRACE are ye saved through FAITH, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD. NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST." Nothing can be clearer than this.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
baredd79 1 year ago

You need to rethink.
baredd79 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 No such thing as initial salvation?? Do you know what initial salvation means?? Here's a perfect example of initial salvation. Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham” (Luke 19:9). For you to say biblical initial salvation does not exist is a elementary school blunder in the rule of apologetics.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 Luke 19:9 tells us..."And Jesus said to him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he is also a son of Abraham." You quoted this verse as an example of initial salvation but nowhere in it does it say or even hint anything about the initial salvation. It just means that God's salvation has come to the house of that man because they believed in Jesus. You shouldn't misinterprete the verse to suit yourself.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
@opsvideo2008 Zacchaeus is BEING RECEIVED BY CHRIST . If you go on to read the next verse, Jesus says "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost". So Christ received Zacchaeus through initial salvation. Zacchaeus did not receive Christ before hand. Hence when Christ says "Today salvation has come to this house", AFTER Zaccnaeus offers himself to Christ. So initial salvation does not exist? U said Christ said "It is finished". But u have to accept his gift. It isn't just given.
baredd79 1 year ago
@baredd79 In short, a man is saved by God's grace and it is through his faith or belief that Jesus died for his sins that he is justified in God's sight. No man can justify himself to God by doing good works because Isaiah 64:6 tells us that in God's eyes.."..all our righteousness are as filthy rags.." But Jesus in John 15:4 instead asks His disciples to abide in Him in order to bear fruit ( do the good works of God).

I would say it is better for this priest to carry out a crusade against the sodomy, physical abuse and sexual molestions committed by his fellow priests in the catholic church than to complain about anti-catholicism in Ireland. He needs to clean his house first before wondering why people are critical of catholicism.

Childinfaith 1 year ago
@Childinfaith, Any person with simple common sense will be able to explain to you that celibacy is a gift from God which the catholic church is unnaturally forcing upon the catholic priesthood. Suppressed human sexuality without divine enablement, will eventually give birth to sexual perversions such as the pedophilia committed worldwide by catholic priests. The big sin of the catholic church are the cover-ups by it's officials.

You are missing my point.

It appears that the only versions with the corrupt translation is the Catholic Bibles, the rest are accurate

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luke 1:28
And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be Luke 1:29
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. Luke 1:30
Mary simply found favour with God, she was not declared SINLESS AT ALL ~ this is deception by the Vatican
Its a lie.and catholics believe it

I dont see full of grace there do you.
its a bit like John the Baptist shouting out " DO PENANCE " when he actually said " REPENT " a very different word altogether.
One is trying to prove the catholic doctrine of penance, the real word Repent means something totally different
glizag 2 years ago
In the Dourey-Rhiems version yes it does say "full of grace".
And we are not talking about penance. We are talking about Mary.
Childinfaith 2 years ago
I use the KJV , and I think its more accurate than the Rest .
The Penance thing was just an example of corrupt translations, John the Baptist knew nothing about penance, but they still translated it in.

NOWHERE does it infer that Mary was sinless, no where
The apostles never referred to this DOGMA, neither did anyone else in her day.
Its simply a Vatican Fantasy, and it will remain a fantasy unless Scripture reveals something that so far is not revealed.

What Bible are you using exactly? As far as my knowledge goes the passage reffers to Mary as "full of grace" not simply "highly favored". Its a dirtly buisness changing the words of the Bible around to fit your liking.

So catholics will have a hard time one way or the other trying to defend this invention of the Pope ~ in order to keep people steeped in Idolatry.
Wake up Catholics ~ the whole RCC System is a massive CON JOB and is directed by its founder Lucifer.

God hates Idolators

Funny, that only person I've ever heard call it that was you. I must not get out enough.
Marys dead hmm? Well thats news to me. I thought people in heaven were more alive than anyone on earth. You must be part of some really strange brand of Christianity to suggest people in heaven are simply dead. Unless you are simply not educated enough on our doctrines to even critizise them correctly. Keep practicing. A few less braincells and you will be the picture perfect Catholic basher.

How to make a Plastercast for religious purposes.
first get some modelling plaster add water stir and mould it into a human figure
Subject to intense heat and allow to harden
Now paint it with modelling paint and allow to dry
Move it to a grotto or church and mount it on a pedestal get it blessed by a priest
Garnish it with flower and light candles to it
Now encourage people to come and pray to it and petition it
Now you have another mediator to help you
Surely this is not Idolatry OR IS IT

Yes friend Mary died but her soul is in heaven now the Vatican would like the world to believe that Mary was taken into heaven body & soul, where do they get this idea from?
Some Pope on his throne proclaimed it as dogma & now all the popes subjects must believe this non verfiable garbage, that comes from the Popes own fertile imagination
I guess child might explain this to us all where can anyone that is interested find the Assumption of Mary documented its not in scripture as far as I can see
glizag 2 years ago
Interesting also ~ if Mary died then it proves she was not Sinless, because the Wages of Sin is death.
Catholics have a problem here with Mary.
If they say she died ~ then they deny her sinlessness read Romans 6:23.
If they say she was assumed into heaven, then where is the source that can confirm this, it cannot be the Bible as it is silent on this fantasy.
It is again a Vatican invention 1950 the last dogma was proclaimed by Pope Pius XII, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
So Catholics will
glizag 2 years ago
Perhaps the Assumption isn't explicitly spelled out in the Bible however your theological knowladge is very sub par.
Do you remember what the angel told Mary when he told her the Holy Spirit was to make her pregnant? He reffered to her as "full of grace". Full of grace, being God's grace, is a term used only for Mary in the entire Bible. Being full of grace is another term used to mean that one is without sin or presevred from it. What does sin do? Or what are the wages of sin? Death.
Childinfaith 2 years ago
Death being the wages of sin since the fall of Man affects all those after Adam. However if the angel, sent by God himself, told Mary that she was to bear the Messiah and that she herself was full of grace due to God preserving her from original sin, this means the wages of sin are not of consequence to Mary. Therefore it is the logical conclusion that Mary herself was assumed Body and soul into heaven due to God's graces upon her to be kept from sin and by extension preserved from death.
Childinfaith 2 years ago
You are incorrect Full of Grace is used also in John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The angel said this !!
Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
HIGHLY FAVOURED ~ does not mean full of Grace
And she was blessed among women ~ NOT ABOVE WOMEN like Jael
Do you know the meaning of Highly favoured Child?
By the way its in Luke
