This program i recommend for background use all (greenscreen) is wmm.. But if u r willing to add alot of visual effects I would go for working with after effects sony vegas.. And if u r looking for doing Particle explosions then Maya, Shake for Mac, Blender, Even Photoshop..

That's how you have to do it. It's really easy to build a green screen, for things like interviews and simple effects, but if you want to do what you see in the movies, the real obstacle is space. You can pick up $200 worth of garage work lamps, $500 in fabric or paint, and that is enough, but where are you going to get a 50 x 50 x 25 room to put it all? XD
