I don't buy games that won't last more than a few hundred hours, sorry. I have several level 80's in WoW, if I wanted to run thru casual co-op content, I'd reactivate my account for $30. For me to buy a new game, it would have to bring something new to the table, which this game didn't. At first I really liked the artwork until I realized they had ripped it off from the creator of Tank Girl... So, no - this is a skip. Demon's Souls however is a must have title.

A few friends suggested I buy Borderlands, but honestly they don't even play it that often. To spend $60, to have a game earn a spot on my shelf, the game needs to have at least 1500 hours of replay. Borderlands has 200 at most. $.30 a minute to play an okay game? No. I will be buying Demon Souls though, been looking at that game for a while, seems more than worth it.

@canadian275 Warhawk, MGO both have 1500+ hours of replay, more developers need to get on that level. Diablo, WoW, those are PC titles with waaaay more than 1500+ hours of replay. Counter Strike has thousands of hours of replay. It's a new milenia, sorry but I expect more, so should you all.

@hathhouse Borderlands is great...but it does get repetitive after a while. If not for the multiplayer it'd get old pretty quick. The "new style" you described is more a conglomeration of various existing groups of games...and to point to an FPS with similar skills, classes, quests and item variables, I'd have to say Hellgate: London comes immediately to mind.
All in all though, yes...Borderlands is a great game, with a great feel and a new twist on some awesome ideas. MW2 isn't. :P

What is funny, is my decision to skip this game based on Take2's poor record inspired so much hate from newbs. Then it released with LOADS of problems, plot flaws and is basically a lack luster title at best with NO replay value. I hate being right all the time...

With none announced, and none planned, I can only hope that some kind of PvP is introduced as additional content at some point down the line, or in a sequal.
it was announced that there will be PVP. you can duel anywhere you like and a dome will form around you when you do blocking off all monsters, or there are arenas throughout the world which you can go to and customise the battlefild to play off against your buddies, team or FFA.
i liked the old graphics and the new graphics, each had its own benefits and let downs, if they went for the realistic graphics like at first, they could end up sub par with poor loading/not as seemless, where as the new graphics don't have the great realistic look, but the cell shading and almost comic book-like look, means it should be a quicker load and still great, just different feel. plus at parts in the vid, if you look close its almost 2D but looking out it looks so real, i still love it

I think Gearbox is view spamming this video (because there's 22 comments and 23,344 views which means there's around 1 comment for every 1,000 views), and I think this is both unethical and pathetic. This looks amazing. I'm glad they took the risk to change the art style. The new art style is unique and refreshing, which complements the unique and refreshing gameplay.
I am a little dismayed that the game isn't getting much coverage (no-one I've asked knows about it and this video is criminally unwatched). Hopefully it gets some good press coverage and marketing as the release date comes closer. In the meantime, I'm telling everyone I know about it.

I'm done on Borderlands, no replay beyond a couple of weeks // months, not worthy of shelf space. A console title like Warhawk has lasted over 2 years for a reason that escapes Gearbox, and Take2 interactive.

it was announced that there will be PVP. you can duel anywhere you like and a dome will form around you when you do blocking off all monsters, or there are arenas throughout the world which you can go to and customise the battlefild to play off against your buddies, team or FFA.

i liked the old graphics and the new graphics, each had its own benefits and let downs, if they went for the realistic graphics like at first, they could end up sub par with poor loading/not as seemless, where as the new graphics don't have the great realistic look, but the cell shading and almost comic book-like look, means it should be a quicker load and still great, just different feel. plus at parts in the vid, if you look close its almost 2D but looking out it looks so real, i still love it

This looks amazing. I'm glad they took the risk to change the art style. The new art style is unique and refreshing, which complements the unique and refreshing gameplay.
I am a little dismayed that the game isn't getting much coverage (no-one I've asked knows about it and this video is criminally unwatched). Hopefully it gets some good press coverage and marketing as the release date comes closer. In the meantime, I'm telling everyone I know about it.
