I'm not sure why there's a debate regarding teaching art. I say anything that helps you lose confusion is good... how many times have we all given up on something because we were confused and had no one to turn to for answers?
eeeh i think that would be kind of hard. Start working right now, Like right, right now... Don't wast your money. Unless your like 18 and over and u live in a house or apartment then you have to pay bills, but You can do it bro, my parents are not putting a penny to go to Dubspot. And i got enough to buy the class but don't have enogh to stay there.
hahaha yeah dude, Hey take some business classes, so like u get like a heads up on how to start your business of Djing. Ask your teacher in how to start it or ask her to stay after school and talk about a Business Plan. And yea dude lol see u At NYC in the Future
@DJTYCOMIX Whats "lame" is you and your boyfriend dancing next to a bunk beds with a bumble bee action figure in the background. Now thats pretty "Lame" bro...
@LilDemonXIII You wish you had a boyfriend that hot! Haha but seriously I thought this video lame so I commented lame and you thought my video was lame so you commented lame. Thats totally fair no big deal.
I love how this lets you make your own sound as a dj opposed to playing other peoples track find this way more fun to do and to listen to than a dj that just knows how to mix tracks. Love the series!
@snalepa Nice!!! Steve makes excellent points. You also can't knock it till you try it. Dubspot puts great effort into their school. They value selecting the finest industry professionals to teach top notch material, which as you guessed it costs A LOT of money. They deserve respect and gratitude for all of the FREE videos they give away.
@KushPizzaSleep ha ha ha , he he he .. yea man , this is more like music producing than dj`ing , wheres the using ur fingers to try to keep the song in time , its all done 4 ya :( , where`s the art and fun in that , thats how u find out if some one is a good dj or not ??
@snalepa Oh love DJ shiftee! Hes is one of my favorites which is why I watched this video! I am just hating on traktor. You have to admit his vinyl & cdj is way more awesome! DJ Shiftee is amazing one of the people who got me into it! Just this video was boring and I dont like Traktor for reasons I posted in my last comment.
@NumbMuzik Dubspot is hardly "just a money making thing". I teach at Dubspot and I'm honored to work with such a talented, successful group of artists. These artists are also great teachers that value the act of giving back. To be a fully realized artist it is important to both create art AND take in art, to read AND write (writing helps you synthesize your thoughts), be a student AND a teacher. Our teachers understand this and give back b/c they care and love teaching. It is very fulfilling.
@MrChelove I do not teach for free, however I do provide a number of free video tutorials up on the web. More coming soon. Previous ones up on my stevenalepa com website and on the Dubspot blog
@snalepa But you cannot possibly make a course out of this similar to a college course , its mere hobby and personally I think Djing is something thats learned from going out there and doing your best not 30 people learning the theory behind mixing and composing songs . DJing is an art , you cannot teach art .
@NumbMuzik while I somewhat agree, I think "you cannot teach art" is a poor argument... there is TONS of art schools that can teach TECHNIQUE about painting, sculpting, playing an instrument... it is then up to the student to apply the techniques and add their own creativity to create the "ART" of it...
@DoctorIncredible i am actually with numbmuzik art can't be teached but also not against u, techniques can be teached but mainly techniques related to the software tricks not music itself that help more but actually if sumone don have the talent if u gave him 10000000000 course they won't help :)
@NumbMuzik You are entitled to your opinion. I'm self-taught on music production. When I work with my students, I can save them all the headaches, time and mistakes. I teach them what I did right and what I've done wrong. Wish I had someone show me the ropes. Learning from a mentor, especially those as talented as our Dubspot team, you can get where you want to go in a fraction of the time. Everyone brings their own art to their practice. Don't discount the value of concentrated knowledge
The thing about going to school is you have access to concentrated knowledge, plus the ability to network and forge connections. Yes, it is possible to learn everything on your own. However, the beautiful thing about Dubspot is you have access to talented, successful artists who are excellent teachers that value the act of giving back and mentoring aspiring producers and DJs. If it isn't for you, fine, but the reality is you can learn a lot and get to where you want to go much more efficiently.
Yes and no. I mean, I took a Pro Tools class at my college and it really gave me insight on how to produce music. But yeah, if anyone thinks they're going to start tearing up shows after a few classes, they are delusional.
@NumbMuzik I think all they're trying to do is provide people with new ideas and faster shortcuts to make things sound the way they want. But I see your point and that's the main reason I'm not going to college, why learn what you already know?
@vteccream Ok ill take it I hate traktor! Which is probably why I am hating on it? CDJ and Vinyl is real djing! Traktor takes out so many of the challenges and live elements of djing and makes it "lame". I am a hater I hate traktor.
@24ricocruz i'm earning money for a new laptop but it's so hard, things are hard lately, hopefully DubSpot could get a sponsor and give away a god damned computa
