I want this net soo bad! I have a plastic net and it is totally destroyed from my slap shot to my wrist to my snap. It is literally in pieces! Know i have nothing to shoot on! Great, hopefully i can save up for this one!
How long did the net shown in the video last for? is it going to be in good enough shape to use for a long time, or am I going to have to ask for another one for christmas?
@websterja1 I've got a decent slapshot and wrist shot. The net is still standing, the posts have dents in them, and I needed to add extra meshing around the net because I shot so much in the same spots that it wore a hole in some spots.
Stuff like that is pretty normal for the more affordable nets, if you want rink quality they are like $600 and SUPER heavy
Hiya guys i really need some help. im not buying this net as it is too expensive to ship but im buying a net in a local area and its 6x4 but this seems wayy to big? im 5'6 and people have been saying that there 6 ft by 4ft but i measured this and its just seems too big and can u give me some help? thanks
I bought one 2 months ago and my back bar keeps on falling out and I don't even have a hard shot. Do you know why? It's perfectly fine the posts are in place fine and it falls out
I see a lot of younger guys (12,13,14 yr. olds) buying plastice nets. Just a thought, its better to spends an extra 30$ to get a metal one. I bought a plastic one about two years ago and set it up in the driveway. I used a plastic street puck (regulation size) that it weighed about 3 onces and broke the crossbar on my second shot. It was a 89$ net. I hope this saves you some time and money. - Jay
GUTS and DESIRE - Updated - I didn't see the instructions box that clearly said - rubber hammer / wooden block might be needed to install tubing - IT WORKED GREAT !!!! Set up frame in 5 minutes - netting in 15 minutes - We are shooting like crazy !!!!! 1/23/2011 - Highly recommend !!
@GUTSandDESIRE Thanks for the update! I thought they might have changed something since the review, but it is good to see you got it all put together.
@MrMarthafolker yeah I am going to do an update on the net after the winter and let everyone know how well it has held up. Right now it has quite a few dents, but it is still standing and I am still using it on a regular basis.
I've used mine about ten times and the posts are bruised and battered from hockey pucks in winter... lots of dents. I have a pretty good wrister (never clocked it), but I doubt its anywhere near your 50-60 mph. So frozen pucks in winter will dent this thing pretty badly.
The other thing I've noticed is that the "push buttons" are in front of the cross bar. I've hit those quite a lot and "lost" them in the post.
It's a pretty good hockey net for the money though.
@MajorDouche I've used the net a few times already this winter. It's still holding up, but the posts are pretty beat up. The one thing I missed in my previous comments is that I've already had a few pucks go right through the net. The net is much better than most street hockey nets I've seen, but it's definitely not as sturdy as a pro goal's net (there is no way my shots can go right through a pro net).
@DangleSnipp14 Just put both sides on (but not all the way) and then line them up in the middle. Then push them together as you attach the whole top piece. Pretty sure that's how I did it. If that fails, just check the manual ;) (they have one online too)
i have that goal with the 2 inch pipe and it is the best goal i have ever had i use the plastic pucks with believe it or not do more damage to the posts then the ice hockey pucks
@goalieluvr23 I would say it is best suited as a roller hockey net, but it will also work for shooting pucks for almost everyone. I have been shooting pucks daily since I got the net and it is still working great, I just added thicker along the bottom.
@ChaytenHansra Thanks for your comment. On the EZ goal website you can download the manual, that might help. I put the netting on by lining up the coloured tabs (like I show in the video) then I used a few small pieces of string to hold the net in place (and my girlfriend helped) and then just tied a knot on one of the wiggly wires, then laced it through just like at 2:03
@BeBreezy00 That is common with any type of off ice net. It looks a little more dramatic in the video because I only showed the shots when I hit the post, and I didn't show them in the correct sequence, so that is why the net jumps around a lot :D
Even with a regulation net on the ice it will move if you nail the post (and they are HEAVY) that is why they have pegs to hold the net in place.
Would you be able to give me a link to the goal and backstop combo as i can't find it on the website, Thanks. Great review by the way, keep up the good work :)
@skylinejake I just put the link in the video description. On the page there is an option that says backstop only, sclick the dropdown menu and select "backstop with 2"" tubing folding goal. You save a lot by buying both at once (and save on shipping), and we have a coupon for $10 off (check out our website to get it)

does this net come with the targets and backstop for the same price or do you have to pay extra/seperately for the targets and backstop?

@n3xtxgam3r16 Yes, the net comes with the targets. The backstop is extra, but you will save money if you buy the net and backstop at the same time
